Many people with chronic fatigue also have toxic mold exposure, or

Toxins from red tide algae or fresh water algae,

This wouldn't include chlorella would it?

Chlorella can be contaminated - but most of the commercial growers are
very careful to not allow this to happen...

CSRe: healers/cfids/fibromyalgia - cleanse the COLON

The Respected Doctor is absolutely RIGHT!
Finally one who is honest, and faithful to his profession!

The motto is:
Want treatment (for chronic fatigue, for allergies and for more
disbalances) -- Do you want treatment?

First cleanse the colon
then look at your eating habits
and: drink enough PURE water.

+25 !!

Best general health advice ever...

Too bad the devil is in the details, ie:

1. How *best* to cleanse the colon?

3 best products/methods:

a) homozon (best source: Donna @ www.excellentthings.net)

b) Dr Schulze (www.800herbdoc)

c) Arise and Shine (chomper, herbal nutrition - www.ariseandshine.com)

---

2. Best diet?

Learn everything you can about 'Metabolic Typing', determine your
metabolic type, and eat accordingly.

---

3. Enough pure water?

Lots of room for argument here. Best I've learned so far is, drink a
large (12-16 ounces) glass of pure water immediately upon arising, then
do the same 15-30 minutes prior to each meal. The rest should come from
the fruits/veggies/soups you are eating.

You can also achieve similar benefits if you drink ozonated water
regularly, and aside from the one-time expense for the generator,

and very minimal ongoing expenses for powering it, it is free,
while homozon costs about $30 per bottle...

However, drinking ozonated water will NOT get the bowels moving like
homozon will. Just to let ya know.

True - it will *help*, but the magnesium alone in the homozon acts as a
gentle 'laxative', along with the effects of the ozone...

CSRe: What is Gmail

2007-07-31 Thread Charles Marcus
Sending email has nothing to do with IMAP, so this statement is at
least a bit misleading

OK, that was one. Some of the things it mentioned as not being
able to be done is easy and standard features of many email programs.

Vague comments are useless... specific examples, please?

In what way is it wrong? And if you only have a 'slight
understanding' of how IMAP works, how in the world can you then turn
around and accuse this web page of being 'DEAD WRONG'?

When you read something in black and white, a slight understanding
is enough.

In certain cases, maybe, but in general, I disagree... in fact, I would
go so far as to say that the above is why you made so many wrong
comments about gmail, and then IMAP...

Seems you said it does SMTP.

Eh? *I* did?? I just pointed out to you that this was the one comment on
that page that was WRONG! I certainly never would have made such a
comment...

I did not read that anyplace. Maybe I missed it.

The first line says it is a Webmail package.

Methinks you are confused... the first line of the web page at the link
*you* provided says nothing whatsoever about a 'webmail package'.

We are talking about this link:

https://neomailbox.com/imap_email.html

Right?

Several links on the side also.

Specifics, please... WHAT links?

The page emphasizes features of IMAP that are standard and automatic
in most programs.

First, IMAP is a PROTOCOL. It requires an IMAP capable SERVER first and
foremost. Second, you need a client that supports talking to an IMAP server.

From that point on, yes, many/most standard mail client features (like
filters/rules, searches, etc) apply... but that is only because those
features are protocol agnostic...

This block,
(4) Filing email is not the best use of your time
Storing mail in folders with subfolders and nested sub-sub folders is
not a productive way to spend your day.

Sorry, but 'This block' is nowhere found on that page...

Apparently you *are* talking about a different page/link from the one
you actually posted...

My mailer appears to support IMAP but have never used it. I don't
think any of my mail servers have IMAP.

Well - I could no more go back to POP for my primary email than I could
dial-up for my internet access, but the fact is, you cannot 'miss' what
you have never experienced.

It appears it was made by and for adminstrators and very powerful
users. No complaints in that respect of course.

It is no more difficult to use than a POP account. Of course, as with
anything, it helps to understand how it differs, and all of the *ways*
that it can be used - the available 'features' it provides - but it is
quite simple.

And one thing I really like about Thunderbird is each account has
its own folders (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Templates, etc)... makes
keeping things organized a breeze...

OK, now you have about sold me on Thunderbird. grin

In that case, if you decide to try it, just be aware...

When you create a POP account, it offers to store all of the messages in
what it calls the 'Global Inbox' - so if you want separate folders for
each account, you'd have to say 'no' here... google on 'Thunderbird
Global Inbox' for details...

Emergency, or convenience... although I use strong passwords on all
of my accounts, so I have to carry my password for my main account
around with me as I still haven't memorized it (15 characters long,
numbers, letters and special characters)...

I won't ask how long it took you to learn all that.

If you use Firefox, and care about online security, then PasswordMaker
is your friend:

www.passwordmaker.org

Best thing since broadband! One password, as many secure passwords as
you want, nothing stored anywhere (generates them on the fly each time)...

I prefer carrying around my Portable Thunderbird - then as long as
I have access to a computer with a live USB port, I don't need to
pull out my main account/password and resort to webmail.

OK, another plus. You have that on key chain device or similar?

Yep...

http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable

And in case you missed the significance - this whole site is killer for
finding 'Portable' versions of programs that fit on a USB stick or other
portable device:

http://portableapps.com/apps

I may have been a little wrong about gMail.

A *little*? ;) Almost everything you initially accused it of was
wrong...

Not 100 %. I just did not like the wording on the information
page I found. Likely there are better ones.

Wayne - be honest - and please don't blame someone else for your
own errors.

I consider they are exaggerating a thing or two not granting that
some of the things can be done other ways.

Well, since I am fairly sure I have established that we are talking
about two completely different links/pages, I'm afraid I cannot comment
intelligently on this until I see the page you are talking about... ;)

Thanks for not taking my comments as

CSRe: question about homozon

2007-07-30 Thread Charles Marcus
I have posted a question about homozon before and it was answered but
I dont remember seeing an answer about this particular question. I
may have missed the answer or have forgotten. does homozon address
parasites as well ?

It may help with some, but by itself, I'd say no... except that by
cleansing and detoxing the bowels, kidneys, liver and gall bladder, it
destroys most of the hiding places of these critters - and by keeping
the bowels moving, it will help to get rid of them as you kill them by
other methods.

From what I've been reading DE (diatomaceous earth) may be one of the
more effective ways to eliminate many parasites, but there are lots of
other, more time-tested methods (cloves, garlic, black walnut hulls, etc
- google is your friend)...

Here's one hit on DE:

http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=923441

Is it safe for long term use or just occasional cleansing ? thanks in
advance

It is very safe for long term use - but as with anything, you should
take breaks occasionally.

You can also achieve similar benefits if you drink ozonated water

The is an option, Leave mail on the server but that is not a nice
thing to do.

The Gmail option is actually on the server (you have to intentionally
enable POP access), so doesn't suffer from the negatives you obviously
have encountered (as have I) with the client version of 'Leave messages
on server'.

With GMail, you can tell it to delete them, leave them in your Inbox, or
archive them. You can also apply server side filters to tag them, dump
them into folders, etc.

But as I said - I'm just waiting for IMAP access...

CSRe: What is Gmail

2007-07-30 Thread Charles Marcus
I'm not one of the parties involved in this conversation but may I
ask, what is IMAP access. I'm trying to decide if I want to make
gmail my main email program.

Charles can explain it better. I have a slight understanding.

However, BEWARE or the internet information about IMAP.
https://neomailbox.com/imap_email.html
This link is DEAD WRONG about IMAP and other mail capability.

In what way is it wrong? And if you only have a 'slight understanding'
of how IMAP works, how in the world can you then turn around and accuse
this web page of being 'DEAD WRONG'?

I read the entire page at the link you provided, and find not one thing
that is wrong - except maybe for one comment:

You will be able to access all your mail folders and send mail from any
device.

Sending email has nothing to do with IMAP, so this statement is at least
a bit misleading - but of course, there is no reason you cannot also run
an SMTP server on the same box (which is what I do). But the first part
- and everything else I read on that page - is spot on.

Plus, if you use a dialup ( no high speed ) Any web based mail will
be slow as molasses, ... period.

Even then, the Internet is vulnerable. Last week a construction
company cut a large cable on the East Coast. Many parts of the
internet was DOWN for 24 hours before it could be repaired.

Valid concerns as far as they go - but maybe you haven't heard of
'offline support' for IMAP? Thunderbird has had this for a long time, as
do most other mature IMAP clients.

By enabling 'offline support' for all of your IMAP folders, you are
essentially keeping local copies of everything (not just the headers),
so that you can search, reply, save attachments, etc, all without being
connected to the internet.

Without doubt, the most reliable is to pick up your mail and transfer
it all to your computer, no matter if you get 100 emails per day or
500.

Most reliable in what regard? By using IMAP with offline support (which
I do recommend), you have the best of both worlds...

You can also set up something like fetchmail to 'grab' any email from
any of your POP accounts, and dump it into specific folders on your IMAP
server automatically, so you don't NEED to check it yourself - it is
just 'there' - and GMail supports this, under the 'Accounts Get mail
from other accounts' setting. Of course, this is all way beyond what the
average person will ever want, need or do...

I use 3 mail servers and 3 email addresses to beat the internet and
mail server problems.

I have about 25 email addresses, some I manage/host myself (my own
domains), others are freebies like gmail, yahoo, etc (the yahoo and
hotmail are only for IM service, so I can have an IM identity for each
of the services so I can talk to anyone on any service)...

You are not limited to one mail software ( nor one bogus web browser
) You can have 3, 4, of 5, all set up and working.

I have 15 different accounts set up in TBird right now - all IMAP based
(with fetchmail to handle the POP only accounts like my Netzero and
gmail), all accessed through Thunderbird...

I think my mail software would handle 15 email addresses and maybe
that many mail servers. I normally limit it to 3 or 4.

Thunderbird would handle dozens - heck, hundreds of email accounts, and
as many servers (each account can be on the same server, or a different
one - makes no difference). And one thing I really like about
Thunderbird is each account has its own folders (Inbox, Sent, Drafts,
Templates, etc)... makes keeping things organized a breeze...

Use Web mail only as an emergency measure.

Emergency, or convenience... although I use strong passwords on all of
my accounts, so I have to carry my password for my main account around
with me as I still haven't memorized it (15 characters long, numbers,
letters and special characters)...

Some say they use it because they can check mail from anywhere. Of
course all my mail servers have Webmail any time I want to use it.

I prefer carrying around my Portable Thunderbird - then as long as I
have access to a computer with a live USB port, I don't need to pull out
my main account/password and resort to webmail.

I have always been able to check mail from any place I travel.

Ditto... as long as there is an internet connection. I also have access
to ALL of my mail, no matter how I'm accessing it, thanks to IMAP.

I may have been a little wrong about gMail.

A *little*? ;) Almost everything you initially accused it of was wrong...

But, it was because the fool that wrote the web page did a lousy job
explaining.

Wayne - be honest - and please don't blame someone else for your own
errors. You're the one who decided to rely on a 15 month old web page
complaining about a bug that was fixed the same day it was reported
(that is the 'page' you are referring to, no?). All it would have taken
is a few minutes with google to learn the facts about gmails

CSRe: silver and hep c

I just wish they provided IMAP access...

If you do use their service, I highly recommend using their POP access
(and leave the messages on the server, in case of a computer crash).
That way you can use the email client of your choice (I prefer
Thunderbird)...

CSRe: mercury fillings- to Miranda

2007-07-29 Thread Charles Marcus
I also read that it is dangerous *to* get rid of them because of the
amount released in one go into the system. Dee

It *can* be dangerous to get rid of them, if:

1. They are not removed properly, and

2. You do not adequately prepare - you should spend a few days prior
loading up your system with mercury scavengers, like bentonite clay,
chlorella, cilantro, and any others you know of, and a few weeks (at
*least* to many months *continuing* the mercury scavengers once the
fillings have been removed.

It is not something to take lightly, and it is not something to have
done by someone inexperienced in the procedure.

Some people say if you have a lot, it is better to do them in stages -
personally, I don't agree - but that is a decision each has to make for
themselves. I do understand the argument - but as long as all of the
proper precautions are taken, it shouldn't be a problem.

Personally, I would also most likely insist on having some kind of
breathing apparatus so I was breathing filtered air through my nose
ONLY, the entire time (to prevent inhalation of mercury vapor while they
were being removed). Of course, this last part would require a bit of
self-control - ie, not breathing through your mouth during the entire
process...

What's GMail?

It is an overrated Web Mail.

They do provide POP access...

Likely it is slow, it has to be using a dialup.

?? I loathe their webmail interface. In fact the only webmail interface
I have ever seen that I *didn't* hate was roundcube, but it still has a
ways to go before it is ready for prime-time...

Nothing is as good as a POP3 and SMTP server.

They do provide POP access... but you are wrong - IMAP is *way better*
than POP - and SMTP has nothing to do with it - it is a protocol for
TRANSMITTING messages, not for ACCESSING them once they have been
delivered...

Nothing beats running your own imap server (dovecot rocks!), and using
Portable Thunderbird on a thumbdrive...

It is is attached to Google, I would not use it for love or money.

Read this.
http://ph3rny.blogspot.com/2006/03/vulnerability-in-gmail.html

This particular vulnerability is well over a year old, and apparently
was fixed the same day this guy posted about it.

All computer programs have vulnerabilities... nothing new here...

There are ways to keep the computer from crashing. One can have 2, or
3 hard drives installed, or copy mail to an external hard drive. Or
network copy to another computer. One can even do OFF site backups if
if they desire.

Most people aren't capable of doing things like this for themselves...
but I agree, if you are, then there are lots of ways to keep things
backed up...

For those who aren't, gmail is a decent alternative...

I doubt that they would like my 2 GIGS plus of email.

They currently allow up to 2.6GB of storage - and you can use that
storage for things other than email.

All you need is truly raw honey... but you also need to be aware that it
is perfectly legal for honey producers to heat their honey to as high as
160 degrees and still label it 'Raw, Unheated' (politicians make me sick)...

There used to be only two commercially available brands that offered

Locally produced is always best - but only if it is truly raw - and I

liver cleanse - a clogged liver causes the body immune system to
react, causing allergy symptoms. It also will allow the toxins to be
removed more easily. Start with the liver cleanse (gallbladder
cleanse) and see if there are some improvements.

I agree totally. The liver is the chemical factory of the body. If you
have weight problems, and do not eat excessively, then most likely your
liver is plugged. It may take a series of cleanses - and Dr Schulze has
a slow-but-sure process using special herbal tinctures for those who
don't want to do the traditional cleanses - but for some people,
permanent weight loss will continue to elude them until they cleanse
their liver.

Homozon will cleanse *everything*, by the way...

But if you are cleansing, without addressing the way these toxins are
coming into the body (meaning, until you address your lifestyle), you
will always be fighting a losing battle.

CSRe: herxing to charles

2007-07-22 Thread Charles Marcus
I wanted to know if you had an opinion on this subject. Lots of folks
get herxing reactions when using medications ie, herbs ,antibiotics
etc. when treating lyme or candida. Would you advise using this same
method of charcol and clay for help with detox? It sounds like it
would be very helpful for symptoms but I wonder about the clay
absorbing the medications to much thus making them ineffective.

The only caveat would be to not take the slurry at the same time - or
too soon before or after - the herbs/medications...

The mechanism is very simple - the clay/charcoal simply ab/adsorb
(google to learn about the difference between absorb and adsorb) toxins,
chemicals, metals, etc. Yes, they will ab/adsorb some nutrients - and
most of the drugs - if taken at the same time...

So, take the slurry an hour before or after eating/taking meds, and you
should be fine...

As I said previously, when I am doing a cleans, I alternate my
nutritional/green drink and the slurry hourly...

They NOW have the power thanks to the new legislation.

Most 'legislation' is territorial in nature - ie, it only applies to
areas where Congress has what is called 'exclusive legislative
jurisdiction'. This includes Washington DC, property within any State
where jurisdiction has been officially ceded (most federal buildings do
*not* qualify*), and Territories (I think Guam and American Samoa), and
to an extent, places like the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, etc.

In other words - Congress does NOT have unlimited power to legislate
inside the States.

Any Act of Congress the enforcement of which would be unConstitutional
is not a legitimate law.

I guess some people could gain weight on water and air. But most
should not.

Sunflower seeds are 48 % fat by weight. I have eaten them for many
years. I never blamed them for weight gain. I did gain weight a time

or two in my live. Driving and sitting too much.

I just do not believe that a single thing causes and that a single
thing cures. The body is a very complex chemistry lab.

I agree with this, with the following very specific qualification...

Different people have different metabolic types - some (actually, as
much as many people don't want to admit it, the numbers seem to indicate
'most') people do best on a high animal protein, low carb diet, while
others do better on a high carb (complex carbs - no one does best on the
crap-carbs), low/no animal protein diet.

Most, of course, fall somewhere in between the two extremes.

The key to permanent weight loss is to eat right for your metabolic
type. Yes, this is *similar* to the 'Eat Right For Your [Blood] Type'
diet, but it is *not* the same. There were always a number of people who
this just didn't work for, and the *metabolic* type resolves those
anomalies.

What does Homozon have in it?

Had you bothered to read any of the links about it - or spent 30 seconds

It is simply ozone bound to magnesium through a proprietary process.

Maybe someone has said, but I don't seem to have filed the

CSRe: vinegar facts

2007-07-16 Thread Charles Marcus

Acetic acid is an organic chemical with the precise chemical formula.
CH3COOH If it deviates from that formula, at all, it's not Acetic
Acid...at all. Acetic Acid is Acetic Acid no matter where it comes
from or how it's made. Milk is not a specific organic chemical. Any
comparisons cannot hold water.

The analogy was 'vinegar' - 'milk', NOT 'acetic acid' - 'milk'...

But this must mean that you believe that petroleum based synthetic
analogs of natural vitamins - since they are chemically identical -
can/will provide the same benefit as the natural form - which has been
proven to be totally false.

If Acetic Acid is some sort of culprit and both vinegars have a
5% concentration, they will be equally harmful DUE TO ACETIC ACID
CONTENT.

Not true - which you actually point out below...

This one cannot have harmful concentrations and that one not, if
the concentrations are the same.

True enough, as far as it goes - however, googling reveals numerous
references suggesting that concentrations vary widely from what is
claimed (both on the label and in marketing material).

Now, other materials present might help protect from negative
effects of Acetic Acid at a given concentration [ if there really
are any] ..BUT..that deviates from the subject of harm from consuming
-Acetic Acid-

Again, true enough...

*This* cannot be good and *that* bad, if they are exactly the same.

That was my point. Just because distilled vinegar and raw apple cider
vinegar both contain 5% acetic acid, doe *not* mean they are the same thing.

This vinegar contains good Acetic Acid and that vinegar contains bad
Acetic Acid, makes no sense at all.

I agree - good thing thats not what I said (or meant).

The only *rational* arguments possible are: What does Acetic Acid
do, in what environment?

No, since we aren't talking *specifically* about acetic acid, but about
two very different forms of *vinegar*, the only rational argument
possible is: what does each form of vinegar do, in what environment, and
how do the behaviors *differ*?

Unrefined apple vinegar and distilled vinegar may be different
environments for the Acetic Acid , but that doesn't account for the
other environments included when either is being used.

True enough... but stand-alone pointless...

For instance: At 5% Acetic Acid concentration and a given equal
amount being consumed, is distilled vinegar consumed soon before or
after drinking apple cider any different from apple cider vinegar?

But of *course* they are different - since raw apple cider vinegar is
*not* the same thing as 'apple cider' (is this raw, organic apple cider?
or store bought crap?) + 'distilled vinegar', your comment is just as
much 'stand alone nonsense' as Dr Walkers...

But one thing is logically crystal clear:
Dr Norman Walkers statement, taken as presented without further
clarification, is

 -stand alone nonsense-.
By ignorance, by carelessness, or by intentional attempts at
propaganda.It's clearly illogical.

While the precise chemical composition of acetic acid in each vinegar
may be the same, their behaviors can be *very* different, due to the
nature of the *rest* of the *remaining* *95%* of each.

But I agree, his comment, with respect purely to acetic acid content,
doesn't make a lot of sense, so I'll be digging out his book sometime
this week when I have time and get the context.

Until then, the rest of your comments are pure fantasy based on nothing
but smoggy air, but feel free to continue, since you appear to be in
love with listening to yourself speak...

Hi, Charles, The brand of bile salts I am trying (first time today)
is Cholacol 2425 Standard Process, Inc. I believe that this is a
reputable place to purchase alternative treatments. It is a
proprietary blend 721 Mg. Collinsonia (root) and purified bovine bile
salts. I am concerned about using it because it does contain .2mg
iron. I usually avoid iron supplements like the plague. I know this
is a tiny amount, but still, it makes me uneasy. Other ingredients
are honey and calcium stearate.

I don't think the amount of iron is anything to worry about, and yes,
this should be a decent brand although I've never used it.

Today my bowel action is stuck fast
again and I am getting uncomfortable. Trouble is that intestinal gas
tends to cause material to back up into pockets and twists of my
colon. There is a particular pocket in my rectum past which I can
never pass stool without manual intervention. I realize this is not
a good topic to pursue on the list, so sorry , all .

Ruth, Ruth... the homozon would help so quickly to relieve this,
although, as discussed, you would have to find your comfort dosage.

About Homozon and it is without an e, but thanks for the warning.
Gail has sent me a plan for starting use in a gradual fashion. If
and when I get brave enough I may try it out in the way she suggests.
It does have nine different herbs in it

sigh

Ruth, you're not reading closely again... if that stuff has any herbs in
it, *IT* *IS* *NOT* *HOMOZON*, *REGARDLESS* of how it is spelled.
COMPARE THE PICTURE. Please, Ruth, read what is being said, and *DON'T*
*MAKE* *ASSUMPTIONS*.

Sorry for yelling... I really really really am yelling with good

CSRe: vinegar facts

2007-07-12 Thread Charles Marcus
As for distilled vinegar - from Norman Walkers Fresh Vegetable and
 Fruit Juices:

... distilled vinegar has concentrated amounts of acetic acid
which can destroy red blood corpuscles and interfere with the
digestive process. It can also contribute to hardening in the liver
(cirrhosis), as well as duodenal and other intestinal ulcers.

Your implication in this context is incorrect.

It isn't 'my' implication, it is Dr. Norman Walkers - if you disagree,
then go argue with him.

The active ingredient in vinegar is acetic acid.

Wrong. Acetic acid is *an* active ingredient in *all* vinegars.

I think it is probably *the* active ingredient in *distilled* vinegar,
but it certainly is not *the* active ingredient in raw organic apple
cider vinegar, although it is, of course a major factor. Malic acid,
numerous enzymes, potassium, and many other known and unknown co-factors
are present in raw apple cider vinegar.

Also, it would not surprise me in the least if the distillation process
*alters* the acetic acid such that it is not the same as that found in
natural vinegar.

If you dispute this, then you probably also think that there is no
difference between pasteurized/homogenized milk and raw milk from
healthy cows.

Both Certified Bragg Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar and Heinz
distilled vinegar indicate that they each have 5% acetic acid
 content.

So what? Both pasteurized/homogenized milk contain fat - but the *form*
of the fat is very *unhealthy* in the pasteurized/homogenized milk, and
very *healthy* (for most people) in the raw form.

Re-read my 'egg' analogy.

Don't drink a bottle of either, but if a teaspoon of Bragg won't hurt
you then a teaspoon of Heinz won't hurt you.

Man, you really are good at throwing out strawmen, aren't you.

A teaspoon of heinz may not kill you, but if you take it long term, it
*will* stress the system and eventually lead to problems, while regular
use of raw apple cider vinegar will produce - sometimes dramatic -
*healthful* results.

Granted, you will be getting additional nutrition out of the Bragg
vinegar but that is not the same as saying that Heinz will destroy
your red blood corpuscles etc and implying that Bragg vinegar will
 not...

Heinz *will* - *if* taken in the long term - destroy red blood
corpuscles, and Bragg's will *not*.

The Heinz site also mentioned that certain cut price vinegars might be
made from petroleum products so it would be prudent to use one made
from alcohol as both Heinz and Bragg are.

But you say this as if they were the same - and if you really believe
that, then what in the hell are you doing on an alternative health list?
You may as well go to the WebMD site and start recommending to people to
get chemo and radiation treatments when they ask questions about cancer
treatment options.

I don't know for a fact if those made from petroleum products are
actually detrimental (in a factual way, not just imagined)

Right... ok, you just confirmed my above comment wasn't
actually that far-fetched...

but I probably wouldn't use much of a product of that type to be on
 the safe side.

Ok, so you're not a *total* moron then... good for you...

Do I need to say more?

That is up to you... but if you do, I will most likely have to correct
you again...

CSRe: Parasites

2007-07-11 Thread Charles Marcus
Hi, Charles, I have tried both bile salts and meds containing
hydrochloric acid. They didn't help. Have tried them both relatively
recently and longer ago. They did not help.

Which brands? What 'meds'? For how long? In combination with what other
drugs/supplements?

One of the biggest mistakes people make (because it is so easy to do due
to the inordinate amount of mis/dis-information on the internet) is to
try a poor brand/version of 'x' that is supposed to be good for some
particular ailment - or try something while at the same time doing
something else that is contra-indicated and will nullify the effects -
then declare that 'x' doesn't work'.

Analogy:

*Both* of the following statements - as far as they go - are 100% true:

1. Eggs are extremely unhealthy and should be avoided as part of any
healthy diet

2. Eggs are extremely nutritious - some call them natures perfect food -
and should be included as part of any healthy diet.

The reason both of these are true is, I didn't differentiate between:

1. Eggs that come from egg 'factories - where chickens liver their
entire lives in 1x1 foot cages doing nothing but eating laying mash
laced with antibiotics and other drugs to keep them alive and laying as
many eggs as possible, and

2. Eggs that come from chickens that are free to roam in the open air
and sunshine, eat pesticide free grass, shrubs, bugs and other goodies
natural to their diet, and have visits with Mr Rooster.

So, just because you took 'something' that was called 'bile salts' or
supposedly had HCL in it, does NOT necessarily mean that you took them
in their proper form and/or amounts - or were not taking them in
combination with some other drug/substance that was nullifying their effect.

All that said, you are correct that I don't *know* what is wrong with
you, but from what you have said of your symptoms, I am as certain as I
can be that your missing Gall Bladder is the primary problem, and your
lack of bile salts and HCL supplementation - in proper quantities and of
the proper quality - is the most likely solution.

Make your best decision with the information that you have been given,
and I send you all my best wishes for finding relief...

I've been having a LOT more diarrhea than usual lately (been eating

days transit time with my maximum of about 2-3 hours, we might
average out to be about normal.

LOL, though not really funny, I've had IBS for over 30 years.

This could easily explain why you experience 'symptoms' when ingesting
raw whole vinegars and/or fermented dairy products... the *good*
critters in these start stirring things up.

As for distilled vinegar - from Norman Walkers Fresh Vegetable and
Fruit Juices:

... distilled vinegar has concentrated amounts of acetic acid which can
destroy red blood corpuscles and interfere with the digestive process.
It can also contribute to hardening in the liver (cirrhosis), as well as
duodenal and other intestinal ulcers.

What you need to do is address the *problem* - and a serious colon
cleansing is what is required. It may take many sessions over a period
of months - or even a year or more - to get to the heart of it, for
serious cases.

Dr Schulze's colon cleanse will do just that. His #2 formula is
especially soothing for people with IBS - you just use enough to control
the diarrhea, and the activated charcoal, clay, and herbs will draw out
the toxins, chemicals and impacted fecal matter, until your bowel is clean.

will never know, it gives me severe diarrhea in even very small
quantities, and cutting back and trying to work up to even a
tablespoon doesn't work, my intestines just don't get used to it.

Then you most likely have something else going on, although I guess it
is possible that this is some kind of allergic reaction...

If you have any actual proof the petroleum/white vinegar thing, I'd
like to see it. If what you have is claims from one or another
health authority I'm not interested to see those.

I certainly do *not* consider the FDA a 'health authority - do you?

But again, no one said *all* of it is...

More than likely the reason you don't have any success is they *know*

compassion and consideration, as we all get what we 'deserve'.

I *am* being compassionate... I'm trying very hard to get Ruth to not
have to spend the rest of her life carrying around a colostomy bag.

Getting old is no picnic- it is not for the faint of heart, or the
cowardly. Everybody dies of something, and it is often painful and
difficult.

I agree - but what would be more 'painful and difficult' - a few
'tough-love' words from someone Ruth has never met in person before that
just might get her to try something that would save her from the horrors
of a colostomy - or the horrors of having to live with a colostomy?

And Ruth - don't let what someone else says about it - I have known 3
people that had one, and while publicly, they all said essentially what
you heard ('its not so bad') - privately, they told me they would give
*anything* to go back in time and be able to choose *not* to do it.

It is your life, however... and you are the one who has to live with the
consequences of your own choices.

Hi Ruth,

The problem could easily have been the 'brand' or form that you were

*bad* form/brand of something which is ineffective - or worse, causes
them more distress - then decides that it is the thing itself that is

would work as advertised.

This is especially problematic with 'vitamin/herb' supplements, but can

However, I have used the vinegar treatment several more times without
any success at all. Don't have a clue why it worked so well the first
time. That time may just have coincided with a period of time around
supper hour when now and then things will suddenly get better without
my doing anything special. But that time, I thought the effect was
different in some way, so I was hopeful . Did that again this
evening, and the burning as I type, is really, really strong. Think I
sent you a message earlier, a day or so ago, Charles about why I
doubt that I can use the meds suggested on the link you sent. Unless
I am speaking to two different Charlses.

Hi Ruth,

Well, I'm sorry to hear that... the only question I have is, what brand
of vinegar was it? Was it raw, and organic?

The next question is, in the subject you said 'Tea' - I just want to
confirm that the water is plain, unheated water? Hot water would
kill/deactivate most if not all of the enzymes in the vinegar, which is
what works the magic.

One other thing you could try is also mixing some raw honey with it -
and again, by raw honey, I mean truly raw. There are only a very few
commercially available brands that are truly raw - YS Organics, and
'Really Raw' are two that I am sure of. I have seen a couple more brands
at Harry's the last time I bought honey that looked like they were
really raw, but haven't tried any of them yet.

A better rule of thumb is take your body weight, divide by 2
and this is the number of ounces of water needed per day.
This comes out to one half ounce of water per pound
per day. Note that this may exceed 8 cups a day for some.

A half ounce per pound seems a reasonable amount to me to
keep the body both hydrated and flushed.

'Seems reasonable' is not what I would call a good general rule of thumb.

The recommendation you gave above - again - has no scientific basis in
*fact*.

Basing a recommendation solely on body weight is meaningless. Other
factors that would *have* to be considered before it would even *begin*
to be 'reasonable' would be:

1. Environment (does the person live in the Sahara desert or in Maine?)

2. Activity level (sedentary or active lifestyle)?

3. Dietary habits (does the person eat a lot of high water content foods?)

4. Current state of health/BMI (is the person obese?)

Etc... see my point?

I would liken the question of free radicals to cancer - *everyone* has

CSRe: homozon

2007-06-27 Thread Charles Marcus

Oxygen IS the free radical.
Oxygen wants very much to be a molecule of 2 Oxygen atoms [O2]

A little confusing... there is a difference between an oxygen *atom*
(O1) and an oxygen *molecule* (O2).

When it's in a unstable compound in an unbalance state like in
Hydrogen Peroxide [H2O2 ] and Ozone [O3] there is that extra oxygen
that will join another one making O2 as a part of that molecule
burning it, or sucking an Oxygen atom off virtually anything it
contacts, especially organic molecules.

Ozone, in 'therapeutic' levels of concentration, will *not* harm healthy
tissue, but *will* react with unhealthy tissue (and chemicals and
pesticides and pretty much any other inorganic toxin in the body)...

I can see where just the right amount of O3 or H2O2 introduced into
the body could be a benefit, both by scavenging free radicals there
and by killing off weaker cells to stimulate growth of new ones to
replace them...but.. over doing it could also be big trouble.

Overdoing anything can cause problems - but therapeutic ozone is *very*
safe and has been around for a *long* time.

CSRe: homozon

2007-06-27 Thread Charles Marcus
Hi, Charles, Last summer I used H202 to soak veggies and in my bath.
Didn't read an article carefully , or else decided that food-grade
stuff was too expensive. Think I also thought the stuff that was
listed as being in the OTC H202 couldn't be that harmful if you can
gargle with it. I have since wondered if some of my worsening colon
problems could have been affected by that. Any thoughts?

Taking too much H2O2 internally - *especially* too high a concentration
- can most certainly cause digestive/stomach problems. It is definitely
much more problematic than drinking ozonated water (you can't make it
too strong, because water will only so hold so much ozone before it is
'saturated' and refuses to take any more), which is highly preferred.

I no longer recommend to anyone to take H2O2 internally - although it
can be safe, if done in moderation and with care.

If you weren't actually drinking water with added H2O2, but were only
taking baths and gargling, then I am confident saying it didn't have
anything to do with your current problems...

That is a disaster and reason enough to NOT USE IT.
Why use such a stupid piece of software ?

Click the 'Edit Subject' link (beside the 'Attach File' link) to edit

Free? Lots of storage that you can also use for off-line storage of

Yikes! That sounds like way too *much* water to me!

There is lots of room for argument *against* the *theory* of '8 glasses

Also...

You should NEVER drink with a meal - not even water! A *little* bit is

This could seriously be a large part of your problem.

So oxygen is not the thing that causes free radicals, as I always

That is correct - it does not.

Ozone, which *is* an oxidant, will oxodize toxins (whilenot harming
healthy tissue) which can then be removed using clay/bentonite slurries
(the absolute best way to remove heavy metals/chemicals/pesticides, etc)
with little to no strain on the normal eliminative organs
(liver/kidneys, colon and skin).

2007-06-26 Thread Charles Marcus
The fact that you have to click on a box to change the subject
shows that some idiot programmer was involved. That is totally
unnecessary. One click wasted.

Not really... in general, the subject should only rarely have to be
changed. About the only time I do is when replying to list digests.

One thing that really bugs me is idiots that hijack threads by replying
to a message, changing the subject to something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT,
which then looks ugly on any sane threaded mail client.

Most mailers allow changing anything without telling it,
Hey, I want to change the subject.

Yes - and most mailers also promote top-posting - so does that mean that
top-posting is *good*? I see you are a bottom-poster, so good for you,
but you will never change the world, and the vast majority of people
top-post and:

1. don't know they are doing it

2. don't care if/when you try to explain it to them

3. have no plans to change because some people (like me) don't like it

So, I disagree that having to click a button to do something that you
rarely should be doing anyway is a bad thing.

CSRe: Food Combining

2007-06-26 Thread Charles Marcus

Morning Charles,

And a very good morning - er - afternoon to you, Wayne,

Thanks for the tips and ideas on proper food combining.

You should not mix them with any cooked foods, *especially* meat or
potatoes.

Also - melons - the rule is 'eat them alone or LEAVE them alone'.

Most people don't understand this very well, me included.
And of course they don't practice anything along these lines.

I know - I know the rules, and still find myself violating them on occasion.

Proper Food Combining rules are general in nature. Many people are
capable of violating them to varying degrees with little to no real
discomfort for varying lengths of time (years, even decades), unaware of
the stress they are putting on their digestive system.

Any more information or rules, outlines you can provide would be
appreciated.

The bottom line is, the higher the water content of the fruit or
vegetable, the further along the line of 'eat it alone' it falls. This
is why melons are at the extreme - they are almost 100% water - which is
also why they require no time in the stomach.

The problem rears its ugly head when you eat something that *does*
require digestion in the stomach, and something that *doesn't*. The
pyloric valve will close, causing the fruit (or whatever) to just sit
there for hours fermenting, when it would have simply passed straight
through. This can cause gas - and even sometimes far worse problems -
for many people.

I often wonder about eating a salad before meals or with a meal.

Surprisingly, according to some, meats should be eaten *first* - so, a
salad, which is usually served *first*, should in reality come *last* -
the exception to this, of course, is a *fruit* salad... ;)

I know that when I eat a sald *after* the main course, I feel better
than if I eat it *before*.

The primary rule is, don't mix (or at least minimize mixing) foods that
require acid for digestion (ie, meats) and foods that require an
alkaline medium (starches).

A good link (I don't agree with everything this guy writes, but this is
a decent general intro to the idea):

http://chetday.com/fcnecess.html

There are, of course, some people that can eat just about anything their
entire lives, live to 105, and be the picture of health up to the day
they die. They are the exception, however, not the rule.

CSRe: homozon

2007-06-26 Thread Charles Marcus
So... You are saying that you will get a free radicals from ozonation
and you have to follow up with antioxidants. OK.

No - please do not put words in my mouth.

oxidant != 'free radical'

And that term 'free radical' is mostly a made up term.

You do *not* need to clean up any free radicals after doing ozone - but,
the ozone *will* oxidize a lot of crap that the body will have to expel
somehow - and the bentonite/charcoal slurry is the most effective way to
do this.

What if you are taking nutritive antioxidant food supplements while
you are using homozone, is that not enough?

There is no 'e' at the end of the word 'homozon' (the main reason I
point this out is because there is another product that goes/went by the
name 'homozonE' that was *not* 'homozon', the original Blass Therapy).

You do *not* want to take anti-oxidants while taking ozone. You either
need to take them about 8 hours BEFORE, or an hour AFTER (ozone takes an
hour or so to break down completely, but the anti-oxidants can hang
around much longer). Understand, it won't *hurt* anything if you mix
them, its just that the anti-oxidants will lessen or cancel the effects
of the ozone.

I have never heard of Clay/Bentonite slurries

Oops... typo - I meant clay/charcoal slurries - these consist of
bentonite clay and activated charcoal - two of the main ingredients in
Dr Schulze's #2 bowel formula.

but if they remove heavy metals and chemicals and have not side
effects I am all ears. Please do tell. ~Norine

Google is your friend... www.eytonsearth.com is a great resource for
everything you want to learn about the healing power of clays, and just
google on 'activated charcoal' for all you need to know about that. As
long as it is pure and ok for internal use, pretty much any source will do.

*against* the *theory* of '8 glasses a day'.

Yeah, there is a lot of room for arguement against anything that is
odd to our pattern of thinking.

True enough - google on '8 glasses of water a day myth' and read for a
few days to see that there is most definitely room for argument about
this as a *general* rule. Certainly there are situations where it may be
warranted (everyone is different, and some people live in much harsher
climates than others), but to spout this as a *general* rule is absurd.

Also - maybe you missed that Ruth said she was drinking TEN TO TWELVE,
FOURTEEN OUNCE glasses a day - this is more than TWICE the '8 glasses a
day' rule.

I say again - Ruth, if you are listening - STOP DRINKING SO MUCH WATER.

Hi, Leslie, The surgeon I am working with says the same thing. He
very much does not want to do the surgery except as a last resort .
I am not sure I can convince him about using alternative things,
though. When I mentioned Bentonite Clay, for instance, with regard
to increasing fiber, ( withpsyllium), he said he didn't know anything
about that.

Bentonite by itself is a very powerful cleanser, but in no way can it be
considered 'fiber'.

I agree with Gail - be very careful with anything that increases bulk,
which both fiber products and bentonite clay will do - although again,
the clay is not fiber.

I hesitate about things like homozon,

I would very strongly urge you to reconsider with respect to the homozon
- I really cannot imagine it causing you any distress at all, and I
believe it would provide much relief.

I not only hae to deal with my colon, but also with this quite severe
burning upper center ribcage burning which is almost harder to put up
with than the bowel problem.

Would you describe this as 'heartburn', or 'indigestion'? If so, one
very simple thing that will usually solve this kind of problem is,
believe it or not, raw apple cider vinegar - say, a teaspoon or so in an
8 oz glass of water.

Most people don't know that heartburn is not a problem of too *much*
acid, it is a problem of not *enough* - demonstrated by the fact that
adding raw apple cider vinegar will cure the problem (it is good for
many other things as well).

Just be sure it is raw and organic (I like Braggs)...

All my best to you...

Charles

CSRe: Colon-Digestive Problems

2007-06-25 Thread Charles Marcus
Hi, Charles. The antigas med I spoke of is the drugstore brand of
colace, consists of simethicone. It is available OTC and is less
expensive than the name brands. IF I don't take it, the gas piles up
in there and seems to stop everything. I sometimes take an enema
and the first return will frequently be preceded by a huge passage of
gas and water.

I don't pretend to know exactly what is going on with you, but gas is
*generally* the result of fermentation - which is generally the result
of not enough digestive enzymes and/or bile (to digest fats) and or HCL
(hydrochloric acid) to digest animal proteins.

Have you ever tried a quality HCL and/or Bile digestive aid/supplement?

My thoughts are with you...

Hi., Gail, I think I have been confusing homozon with Fiberzon, the
cleanse my kids have been trying to get me to go for. I wasn't aware
that Homozon involves ozone. I guess I am still a little afraid .
For one thing, I do not tolerate citrus fruits at all, due to the
pain under my upper ribcage.

You do not need to take the lemon juice (I prefer the organic, raw apple
cider vinegar, which works just as well) in order to get the laxative
benefits of the homozon, due to its very high magnesium content.

Also, you only need to take a very little - even a few drops would be
enough to release the ozone. Just make sure you take it on an empty stomach.

I know that the raw apple cider vinegar may be scary, but it truly has
worked miracles for many people with very big digestive problems, so I
think it is worth a try, in spite of the fact that you said you react so
badly to citrus fruits.

CSRe: The Poor Colon

2007-06-25 Thread Charles Marcus

About fiber: I am scared to try all raw foods.

Why? Personally, if I were in your shoes, I'd start off with a day or
two of fasting, then start in on lots of veggie juices and Dr Schulze's
potassium broth, combined with heaping tablespoons of superfood (I
prefer 'Natures First Food' (http://tinyurl.com/2z4mee) from
www.rawfood.com to Dr Schulze's, with some extra Chlorella straight from
Taiwan). NO fruit juices (fruits should not be juiced as a rule,
although, again, apples can be added for sweetening)...

Romaine lettuce once or twice a day is the only vegetable I eat raw.

A full cup of romaine lettuce has less than 2 grams of fiber - so it
isn't exactly a 'fiber powerhouse', although it is a bit better than
iceberg...

Do eat bananas and cantalope. I know bananas are supposed to be
constipating, but most fruits seem to burn in my upper right ribcage
trouble spot, and I need to gain weight.

The main thing to understand about fruits...

You should not mix them with any cooked foods, *especially* meat or
potatoes. Fruits are meant to be digested mostly in the intestines, not
the stomach - but if you eat them with 'regular' foods, then they tend
to just sit there and ferment (which is why many people get 'gas' when
they eat fruit). Some people can tolerate this better than others,
obviously...

Also - melons - the rule is 'eat them alone or LEAVE them alone'. Don't
even mix them with other fruits - melons are meant to be *entirely*
digested in the intestines, and can cause lots of gastric distress if
eaten with 'regular' food...

Some exceptions - apples and papayas (due to their enzyme content, these
can act as digestive aids to an extent)...

Right now I am passing quite a few stools a day.

The general rule of thumb - according to Dr Schulze - is a bowel
movement upon first arising, then one movement after each meal (so, one
more movement than meals)...

But... just because you are having the requisite number of movements
does *not* automatically mean that you are 'regular' - and Ruth, I
guarantee you, the fact that your transit time is 5-7 days means that
this is your problem.

If memory serves, transit times for fruits is supposed to be a couple of
hours, veggies maybe 3 or 4, and meats/animal proteins, 8 hours or so.

Hi Gary, thanks for that info. I always thought that oxygen was a
bad thing

'Oxygen' != (does not equal) 'oxidant'

Also, ozone != smog

Ozone is found in larger concentrations in smog, because it is natures
way of trying to *clean it up*. Ozone is responsible for that remarkably
fresh, clean smell you smell after a thunderstorm.

I have asked this on the list before, but no answers. I understood
that oxygen caused degeneration, which is why we take 'anti'

oxidants. Any thoughts on this? Dee

There is even room for argument about the whole oxidant/antioxidant thing...

But, the bottom line is, ozone, used appropriately, is one of the most
powerful healing tools available. Google on 'ozone sauna', ozone
insufflation', etc - Dr Kellogg (yes, of 'Kellogg Cereal' fame) used it
in his sanitarium in the late 1800's and cured all kinds of things (he
used hot/cold therapy as well), and Nikola Tesla designed the first cold
plasma generator that would last virtually forever (as did most anything
he built - he designed the power generators at Niagara Falls, which are
still running at the same output today).

2007-06-24 Thread Charles Marcus
A friend of mine told me they took a little Epsom salt internally
for dehydration in India after vigorous sports. I had never heard of
taking it internally, just heard about bathing in it. Jess

Pure Epsom Salts is a key ingredient in any good liver/gall bladder
program. When flushing, if you have any large stones, there is always
the possibility of a stone getting lodged in the bile duct - if this
happens, taking Epsom Salts internally will cause the bile duct to relax
and allow the stone to pass... this is better than having to go to the
hospital for surgery, no?

Sulphur based proteins are important. Most Americans do not get
enough of these. I think MSM provides some sulphur.

MSM *is* [a form of] sulphur... and it is highly available, which is why
it is so good for so many things... and is, in fact, a missing
ingredient in many bone/joint nutritional supplement formulas.

From: http://tinyurl.com/2uqnh8

MSM is a pure and beneficial form of the mineral sulphur. Sulphur is the
eight most prevalent mineral in the body. MSM is a naturally occurring
nutrient found in nearly all living organisms, plant, animal and human.

Foods containing sulphur include grains, legumes, fresh unprocessed
vegetables like garlic, onions, cabbage, broccoli and Brussels sprouts.

MSM is also found in meat, fish, poultry, eggs and milk (milk for
example contains between 2 and 6 parts per million) (1)

When we take MSM (organic sulphur) we are simply taking a mineral which
should form part of our normal daily diet.

MSM is a Sulfonyl - Methyl-sulfonyl-methane. It is not related to the
common sulphurs, sulphates, sulphites or sulphur drugs which are known
to cause irritation to membranes.

pretty much all of your life, I would ask you to consider a question...

Would you rather have surgery, and have to suffer the consequences - and
I guarantee you they will be sever - at *best* very unpleasant, and at
worst, make you miserable the rest of your life - or, resign yourself to
having to take a few relatively inexpensive supplements the rest of your

Both homozon, and Dr Schulze's #1 formula will accomplsih the latter.

What would this med be? Oft times, prescribed meds can cause far more

Of course, I am not suggesting that you just stop any meds, without

Hi Ruth,

I can only say, if it were me, I would run screaming from anyone -
Doctor or no - that would even *consider* removing 90% of my colon. I
know you said that your surgeon wanted to avoid it - which is good - so
maybe he would be willingt to work with you while you do the only
sensible thing...

Go directly to Dr Schulze's site - www.800herbdoc.com - and immediately
get on his bowel cleansing program. You start with formula #1, to get
your bowels *working*, then you slowly start on formula #2, to clean out
the gunk.

Homozon (NOT homozonE) - which is very high in magnesium, but bound to
ozone - is something I would keep on hand for emergencies - trust me,
there is no constipation that I've ever heard of that it won't relieve
straight away.

But you need to get to the source of the problem...

Hi, Wayne, I guess I must have left out that it was 4-6 oz of prune
juice in my post. I have read your post to Dee, I have tried to use
a great deal of what you suggest, but tolerate very little of it.
Just now I feel I need to follow through on what this Dr. is telling
me. We are trying to avoid surgery for an overlong exceedingly slow
transit time bowel, 7-8 days from mouth to rectum. Ten years ago a

My father and my partner both suffer from CHF (Dad was diagnosed 2
weeks ago, Guy a number of years ago). Guy also suffers from IILD.

See my prior post on Dr Schulze and Haqwthorne - this is exactly what he
had, if memory serves.

I would immediatley get on his program for heart health and his lung
formula.

In fact, I would do his entire program if I had any serious health
problem. These herbal formulas are the most potent you can find
commercially, and are all made from organically grown and/or
wild-harvested herbs harvested at the appropriate time in their growth
cycle.

is non-pasteurized the same thing as raw??

It depends, of course, on who said it.

The problem is, there are legal loopholes manufacturers/processors can
use to their advantage... the best example being the one I've already
pointed out - that honey producers can legally call their honey
'unheated', even when it has been heated to 160 degrees.

Thanks Charles, where it the best place to get raw honey.

Locally produced is always best, IF... and I repeat, IF... you are
certain that it is truly raw (not processed with heat greater than is
normal for a hot day in your area), and is not contaminated (either from
poor handling methods or poisoned pollination sources).

The only commercially available brands that I know of that are truly raw
are 'Really Raw', and YS Organics. I prefer YS Organics, but either will
do...

I can buy both at my local Harry's/Whole Foods, but they are also
available online (Google is your friend)...

Does it help rejuvenate collagen production?

It helps any and all skin conditions - and is an incredible 'beauty'

(the longer the better, up to an hour), then simply rinse the face...

It is rumored that raw honey was one of Cleopatra's beauty secrets...

Scars - even old, large, deep ones - can be completely removed with
topical application of [truly] raw honey. Of course, the
deeper/larger the scar, the longer it will take.

Has worked every time for people I have told about...

Apply daily?

Yep - change at least once per day - so, put it on in the morning (cover
with appropriate size bandage, honey is messy), change in the evening
before bed.

For how long? Do you have any idea how long it would
take to remove a 6 month old long scar?

As with most things, it varies from person to person, but I'd say
roughly anywhere from weeks, to maybe a few months.

Ok, I need some group help here. I just started reading Becker's book
Body Electric and today my boyfriend came home from work with 6
stitches and a pressure dressing on his thumb. He sliced his thumb

the long way and although it is sewn back on, the doc said it might
not take. The pressure dressing has to stay on 2 days but after that
what can we do to facilitate the regrowth/healing? over 40 years
old)

The positive pole of a rare earth (or any other appropriately
health-oriented magnet) would help facilitate growth tremendously. Yes,
this is the pole that you want to avoid like the plague if you have
cancer, and which you normally avoid for general health purposes,
specifically because it accelerates tissue growth (which is bad bad for
cancer)... but for things like this, it can be a miracle worker...

The best you can do is keep it wet with CS continually. If you wait 2
days before applying, then expect scarring.

CSRe: OT(Sorry!) Carpal tunnel

2007-06-01 Thread Charles Marcus
I have recently started a part time data entry job and I am concern
about developing carpal tunnel. I am a knitter too, so sometimes I
feel some twinges there already. Do any of you wise ones have any
suggestions? TIA Lisa

I learned this trick from an incidental yoga class I took once (was
diuring a raw food program my Mom and I took)...

Lay down on the floor on your stomach, and put your arms at your side,
with your hands PALMS DOWN, UNDERNEATH (this is the most important part)
your body/legs - ie, you're now lying on top of your hands, with your
hands underneath your thighs, palms *down* flat on the floor. Lie like
this for as long as you can hold it (I tried it, and it was a little
uncomfortable, but not painful) - for a minimum of a few minutes, with
5-10 minutes the goal. Do this as often as you can. The more often - and
the longer you hold it each session - the faster your hands will respond.

I don't have carpal tunnel, so cannot personally vouch for its
effectiveness, but there were 2 or 3 people in that class that said that
this worked a miracle for them. One person, it worked after just a few
sessions/days - the other it took a couple of weeks... I forget how
often they did it...

Could you please explain how drinking the juice of a lemon causes an
alkaline reaction? I have heard this before, but it seems counter
intuitive, seeing how lemons would most likely be acidic.

Correction...

Juice from RIPE lemons (and limes and grapefruit) will cause an alkaline
reaction in the body.

If the fruit is not ripe enough, its juice will most definitely cause an
acidic reaction in the body.

This is, in fact, why many people have problems with lemons and limes
and other citrus fruits - becasue most are picked unripe. they do tend
to ripen after picked, but this is not nearly idea as tree ripened.

I do not know the nature of *why* ingesting an acidic juice (as tested
with a ph tester) has an alkaline reaction in the body...

Just thirty minutes south of us on route 7 in the little town of
Ferrisburg, Vt, is a relatively unknown treasure known as the Honey
Gardens (www.honeygardens.com).

To these people, making raw honey and honey related products is not
just a business, it is a way of life. They have worked tirelessly to
apply organic methods to bee keeping, and the results are the best
tasting raw honey we have ever tasted, and a number of wonderful
honey related products. Look around their website, it is full of
great honey information.

Very cool! Thanks for the link...

Hi Wayne - Is he taking mega doses of vitC - like 10K 3X/day until he
gets the runs, then back off a bit.

It is much better to take less, more often...

Say 1-2 Grams every hour, all day long... but obviously, this isn't
nearly as convenient or easy.

Taking larger amounts won't hurt anything, but according to some, a lot
of it will be wasted (ie, just because you don't experience the runs
doesn't mean your body is absorbing/utilizing all of it)...

CSRe: Raw Honey???? have a heart!

2007-05-25 Thread Charles Marcus

Seeing only this title gave me a chill: Raw Honey???

No such thing as Raw Honey exists.

Sure it does - just like raw milk vs. non-raw.

Most processors heat their honey to 140+ degrees. This honey is not raw.

Honey that is *not* heated beyond normal temperature ranges for the area
in which it is produced *is* *raw*.

Honey is Honey,

Only true in the very limited, strict sense that honey that is cut with
water/corn syrup is not truly 'honey' anymore. But this is very
misleading, when the average person believes that 'Sue-Bee' honey they
buy at Publix is 'honey'.

and it is to be used straight from the bee,

Yes, this is the desired form to use - but most honey sold today does
not fit into this category.

When we extracted honey from our bees (we used to have some 4 to 6
beehives, each good for some 40.000 of our little friends in
prosperous times of rain and flowers) we would not even allow a drop
of water to mix with our product -the honey-; in that case the broth
would be considered of unworthey quality, which it is.

Then you are to be commended... but your comments above ignore the
reality that is the world today...

So let us not talk of p u r e honey or r a w honey, it sounds
a bit ignorant.

Actually, your comments are what sound ignorant (no offense - I agree in
a purely philosophical sense with everything you have said).

processed honey does not have the right to be called honey
anymore.

Again, while technically true, this statement ignores reality.

I healed a 15 cm diameter MRSA+ leg ulcer (dx was necrobiosis
lipoidica diabeticorum) within 6 weeks using raw honey compresses.

Truly raw honey is one of natures miracles...

Purchase raw/unpasturized honey from a health food store,

Honey can legally be heated to 160 degrees and still called/labeled 'raw'.

There are only two commercially available brands (that I know of) that
are guaranteed to be not heated at all...

Really Raw

and

YS Organics

These are the only two commercially available that you should buy.

Locally produced is always best, as long as you know for a fact (and can
confirm for yourself) that it is not heated.

Heating destroys the enzymes, and it is the enzymes that provide the magic.

Honey is Mother Nature's natural antibiotic.

It is much more than that, but yes, it has powerful anti-biotic properties.

Ok - my apologies to Jodi and Dee for incorrectly correcting their

It has been a while since I had reviewed this info, and responded from

incorrect...

What I should have corrected was the myth that pure chlorine bleach is
