[users] openoffice documentation or bug?
I am using openoffice 2.3 - just downloaded it and installed it this week. In calc, I was trying to search for something more than a simple string - looking at the documentation of the regular expressions supported, I found that searching for M was fine but [M] is not found - it says #value (???). Then I tried =SEARCH(M|I;Misty) and that doesn't work either. Then I tried =SEARCH([:alnum:];Misty) with no different luck. So far, I'm wondering if any regular expressions work. Or maybe there's some trick. Or the documentation is misleading. Any insights? Thanks, Henry Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Dear Sir/Madam; I have an HP Pavilion dv6140us Entertainment PC. Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2... Around January/February 2007 I installed OpenOffice.org 2.1, then upgraded to 2.2. There were issues I was experiencing; I therefore uninstalled the versions located through Remove/Change Programs in Control Panel. I noticed however the icons for both openoffice.org files still existed in the Program Folder located on my C Disk Drive. I recently downloaded OpenOffice.org 2.3, and I was experiencing problems with QuickStarter to Launch the software (I was not having this particular problem prior). Yesterday I uninstalled OpenOffice.org 2.3 through Remove/Change Programs in Control Panel. I also deleted all of the openoffice.org icons located in the Program Folder as mentioned. Due to an unusually slow processing speed after installing the 2.3 version, and repeat problems with the HP Launch software included in my PC purchase; I decided to uninstall my favorite office suite, OpenOffice.org. I want to run a Registry Cleaner Program now primarily because my ZoneAlarm Pro detected enough spyware (some from HP and some from OpenOffice.org) to cause concern. Please offer me some suggestions/assistance as to reinstalling OpenOffice.org 2.3. Thank-you, so much; eileen Spiritual Enhanced Misfitted Retreat

[users] RE: Software
Hello, I am using a temporary computer until my computer is fixed. I am interested in your Office package, tried it before yet, again, the computer crashed. I was wondering if there is any way one can use only one or two programs such as the write and presentation because this computer has extremely limited resources. I don't even know with the requirements if they would still meet only one or two programs or all of them. I will list what I am dealing with below. Could you please let me know if it is possible at all to use Open Office? Thank you. We are using Open Office v2.3.1. I've noticed that you can load/save to MSWord 2003 in the .xml file extension but no option for MSWord 2007 .xml. My questions are: Will anything loaded/saved in MSWord 2003 .xml open in 2007 .xml? And if it doesn't, will the March 2008 update include MSWord 2007 .xml load/save option? Thank you. Every time I have downloaded it again, it will not install. I get a message that the installation files are corrupted. Do you have any suggestions? By the way, I congratulate you on this program. [users] Problem with using Open Office Impress
I would like to use Open Office and especially Impress however after trying the program noted one major limitation for my use. In Power Point when I include video clips in a slide presentation I am able to start and stop the video as it is playing by simply left clicking it with the mouse. This is very helpful in education presentations as the video can be easily started and stopped as it is being played. In the Open Office Impress I note that this is not possible and that the entire video segment must be played before it is stopped. I also noticed that when the slide presentation is selected the embedded video plays immediately. I prefer the option that allows me to left click on the video to start the video presentation. Any comments or referral you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you Walter [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Your alternatives would be to download it somewhere else, such as work or a friend's, where broadband access is available and then use a CD or USB drive to transport it to your computer, or you can purchase a CD from a vendor.
