THe one that's not is downstairs - and under the floor is covered with
silver backed insulating foil, which I'm sure isn't doing anything for
the signal. Maybe another 'homeplug' will be needed there.

Having thought about it, I've decided to move my LMS from the family PC,
and rescan the CDs to FLAC. I'm going to use a vortexbox. This was one
of my options, and the final choice was driven by getting one at a
reasonable price on ebay recently.

as it happens I stayed home today to try and shake off a bug, and not
inflict it on the rest of the office. So, I downloaded dbpa to try

CD using those settings, and it was still a long process. All down to
the last track. Probably about 18-20mins to do that alone. First time
round it had to re-rip something like 160 frames, this time it was 300+.

Maybe there's two things going on here:
1) having had a look at that thread on the netgear forums I'm not
delighted I've bought a router that seems to have so many issues.
However there's now updated firmware that I've installed, so I'll not

I had tried to connect the 'Bedroom SB3' a couple of times, as mentioned
above. I then came through to the PC to make the last couple of posts.
Went back into the bedroom - and it's now connected..
How does that work? A 'sticky' connection with the router? Something

SB1 (powerline ethernet) connected no probs;
Garage SB1 (powerline ethernet) connected fine;
SB3 in the cellar connected fine.

Before I went to work today I switched the router to channel 1. We'll

don't. They are all set to "power on/off separately" and have been
forever. I've never had them set to power on as a

problem with that.
I then switched to local FLAC files and this is the pattern - plays for
about 12-15secs; stops for ca. 20 secs; plays again for 12-15 secs..

As the title says, I've just moved from an old Vortexbox running 7.8, to
a new Nova/VB running 7.9. Nothing else has changed - the players are
all in the same places, etc etc.
Previously I had no issues routinely synching up to 5 or 6 players
(three Touch; 2 Boom; perhaps one or two
and the culprit was indeed 'wifi issues'.
I think one of the Touch players isn't getting the best wifi signal. I
had time to play with it today, so I connected it via powerline
ethernet, and I had six players successfully streaming FLAC files all
day.
I still don't really understand why
