Hi Don,
I know you turned the KAT and KPA on before the K3 but the symptoms you

sounds like something is pulling the AUXBUS down.
Try disconnecting the KPAK3AUX cable from the K3 and see if the K3 comes up OK.
If it does,
Hi Gary,
Have you set the KAT500 Amplifier Key Interrupt Power configuration? The KPA is
delivered with that set at 29 watts so if the tuner sees more than 29 watts it
won't open the keying line. You have to set that parameter in the KAT500
configuration to Optimize for Elecraft KPA500.
Hi Dale,
The TX equalization is saved in a configuration file, so you can save the
configuration you have with the TX equalization and then set a flat
equalization and save that configuration. It takes a few seconds to restore a
configuration but that's one way to change from one to another.
One other quick note: You do have to transmit for the KAT to do a quick memory
recall tune. It won't track receiver tuning.

Fred;
If you mean the KRC2, the high and low side drivers are locked together
Thanks Don. With diodes that will work great.

Fred,
With the KRC2, no diodes are needed, just connect them together.

The Elecraft KX3 - coming soon
Turning the KAT and the K3 simultaneously seems to work too. I have one of
those rig runners that power up when you turn a rig on. I have it so it powers
up when I turn the K3 on and it powers up the Kat at the same time. Seems to be
OK but it probably depends on how fast the K3 is booting up.
Good morning all,
I'm trying to get my head around the usefulness of linking main and sub
VFOs outside of diversity mode.
I think I understand Arie, PA3A's application (pretty neat idea):
You have Main and Sub on different antennas and there are times when
working a pileup you would like to listen
Hi Paul,
I got: Error Code 0xE2000202: No response to SVGA boot block sync
command.
SVGA verification failed.
Turned the P3 off and then back on and uploaded all new firmware and all
went well.
I don't know if the SVGA was on or off in either case as I don't have a
monitor connected to the P3.
Whoops. Wrong. NB and NR are not transferred to the Sub from main and
can be set independently with BSET. Sorry.

Ssshh, Jim, we don't want others to know our secrets!
Seriously, I think I am noticing that the pileup jumps on the dx's
listening frequency faster these days. Usually it is faster to work
stations without tuning after each one but the op on 40 this am seemed
to be tuning after almost every qso.
Hi Dave,
I'm pretty sure AGC, NB and NR are the same on the main and the sub rx.
Double tapping AB sets the filter settings (and freqs) the same. You
can change the sub rx filter by holding BSET and then changing the
filter, for example.

The Elecraft K3: Design,
Hi,
The data mode is saved per band so when contesting it's a good idea when
setting up to run through all the bands making sure the mode is the same
on each band.

I know its contraindicated for extending battery life, but it would sure
be useful to allow the speaker plus phones to both be active like the
K3. When you are using the Phones output to drive a computer sound card
the speaker is muted. When trying to tune in RTTY and PSK signals it's a
lot easier
Hello Bob,
Plug your foot switch into the PPT IN jack on the back panel of the K3.
Hold the VOX end of the Band down button until the VOX icon goes out.
