The storage format could be either base-64 or hex strings (like catalina
uses) or the whole hashing algorithm could be pluggable...

worked fine with Tomcat. I understand the
security in Jetty is a relatively recent addition and there've been one
or two hiccups, so it could be a problem with Jetty.
Can you deploy the same stuff in another container, or is it tied to
JBoss 3?

manifest information and generally making sure there isn't anything
missing, though I think there may be quite a lot of dead stuff hanging
about in the current build.
Any suggestions for improvements are of course welcome.
