I use microsoft syncToy (Free) to synchronise to a backup drive from my Laptop and my wife also uses an identical syncToy process using the same backup folders and files. This effectively keeps both Laptop PC in synch. Caviat: Need to be very carefull when you both want to modify the same

I checked out the encoding on Pat Hickin's original post, and it was indeed UTF-8. It appeared fine (no weird characters) in Outlook 2007, so I guess my reader handles UTF-8. Despite that, like Ron, I still get the weird characters. For me, it appears that it is in the original text quoted in
