If the File Id doesn't fit your system of record keeping, there's no need to
use it. But it fits my system, so I use it.

from it in much the same way as you do, except that I don't always pot it in
the "source text" field. I sometimes copy and paste it into the "Burial
Notes" field, which is where I often put the text of obituaries f
urpose, it means I usually have four copies of the main file at any one
time, which is additional insurance.

why people do have this four place names obsession. I
think it's because way back in the 1970s some programmer decided to offer
four place name fields in PAF, and ever since then some genealogy
fundamentalists have treated it as the verbal inerrancy of Holy Scripture,

esearch using Mundia, the free version, now
discontinued. In one case we found 11 erroneous versions of a couple who were
married to someone else, and only two correct versions. It's too easy to copy
the wrong thing.
