W115 will have the tranny with a fluid coupling and four speeds.
W123s have a torque converter, but still are four speeds I think.
I don't believe they interchange directly, but usually it's possible
to retrofit Benz trannys. Worst issue would probably be lack of room
in the drive
What is the condition of the bearing in the wheel carrier? They do go
bad, and can cause both loose rear end sensations and excessivve
camber. I'm in the process of replacing them on all three W124s.
They usually creak too.
Also check ride height -- if the rear is low due to weak shocks

Check to see if the valve moves when you apply voltage to the coil,
and that you get full heat if you unplug the valve.
The coils do fail, especially if the valve leaks coolant into the coil

The M104 is almost as robust as the OM603, neither has lower end
problems at less that 500k miles unless abused. All the troubles I
know about are valve train or head gasket related. You should not be
able to wear them out in normal use.
A six is a bit underpowered for that chassis, but

experience very short brake and tire life and excessive fuel

I think the one hanging (!) in the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH is
wrinkled because it's bent. I assume it was well stripped before
installation, but the skin has diagonal wrinkles in the front half.

If the flap on the bottom of the thermostat isn't correct, it won't
work properly and will cause overheating if it doesn't close off the
short circuit around the block it is supposed to seal off. This is

said he has absolutely no interest in any Benz built after 2003. All
junk, all the time, and filled with intractable computer problems and
non-repairable parts. Build quality is poor, many of them have rust
issues,

I'm always amused by people who howl about the accuracy of weather
forecasting. Weather is chaotic and unpredictable by nature, we have
very good weather forecasting considering the number of variables
involved and the complexity of weather itself.
It wasn't all that long ago that all the
GM used coil springs from about 62 to 72 at least, my brother's 3/4
ton had them, along with diagonal trailing arms. Fully independent
front end, at least on the two wheel drive models.
They used leafs because they are 1: cheap and 2: serve as trailing
arms, so you need only three mount
I revived a couple Sunbeam Radiant Control toasters. Best toasters
ever made if your wiring will hold up to them, they draw 1500 watts!
They sense the surface temperature of the toast, so even frozen things
come out the same every time. Only trouble I've ever had with them is

something is leaking there, and when you take the cover off and a
steady drip is coming from a line, you go it!
Gonna be a real pain to fix, thankfully the diesel fired right up
today, and since it was below 10 at work and

plugs -- ran out of time and patience with the glow plugs. Not bad

Removing the axle went fine, but no progress trying to remove the hub
from the bearing with a slide hammer in spite of reports from a

It's common for the connection to corrode, giving you intermittent

JoAnn Fabric has replacement fabric, it's the same stuff used by GM
and Jeep, both of which have falling headliner issues.
Remove the backing and bad headliner, scrape all the crap off, fit new
fabric, and glue it on with 3M spray adhesive, just like putting a new
foam pad in the engine
$500 fine in Illinois, and they are enforcing it enough my nephew is
careful with his 85 300D.

Extended low speed driving causes soot to build up in the exhaust.
Put your foot down and all the loose soot comes flying out when the
turbo spins up hard!
Since my 300D is currently NOT putting out a cloud of smoke when I
pull onto the expressway, I think it's time for new fuel filters!
Only place it can come out unless you have a leak somewhere. Once the
coolant starts to boil it will lift the pressure relief in the cap.
Most OEM thermostats from MB have a bleed valve, so boiling coolant
can leak through to the upper radiator hose.
I would back-flush the radiator too,
It's TV. While you might see a difference under perfect conditions,
my feeling is that nearly all content is of low enough resolution for
a variety of reasons that from normal viewing distance (10 ft and up)
differences are quite minor.

poor circulation and overheating every time.

The problem with the diesel starters is that usually the coil windings
have acquired too much resistance, and if you don't replace the
armature, you will still have a weak, high current draw starter. New
bushing and turning the commutator will do very little to fix it.
So far as I know,
Dead shocks often result in sagging rear ends on an MB.
However, spring DO collapse with age and use, and even MB spring break
once in a while -- in fact, I just replaced the fronts on my TE due to
the bottom coil snapping off on both sides. First ones I've seen
broken on a Benz, but I

Replace it, it's not worth the effort of getting the impeller balanced
again if you take it apart. Might not be so bad on a 126, but the

On the subject of changing blower motors, do so as soon as it starts
to run slowly or fail to start occasionally, or you will burn up the
speed control module and have to replace that as well.
The module cost around $400 for an original one, and while the
aftermarkets work, they run the
