You need to be careful about a GPS on the motorcycle -- vibrations are not good for the unit, bright sunlight, and the mount needs to be much more sturdy than what the car mount is. I think Garmin has some specifically for motorcycles. I think all the units pretty much use the same map set.

We had a "map" thing in the HH-3F (late 1970s) -- you put a paper map on the display and Loran C would punch a hole (using a pin) every so often to mark your route and position. Hard to believe that Loran C was the baddest kid on the block in those days -- the plane I flew in (nav position) still
