my DSLR as opposed to a film camera. A combination of knowing that I won't
run out of film and that I can see the results instantly and reshoot if

Recording/editing freeware is e.g. http://audacity.sourceforge.net. I'm
planning to do this, too, and a studio level soundcard with cinch
connectors will get into the computer soon. I have a cord from the comp
to the stereo, as for a long time it was my only CD playing device.
