I think I had missed a pair of parentheses when changing CDhandler.
At any rate, having started again from the original version, and
changing it according to your instructions, it now works, and gave me
the (unique) inexact match for the CDs I tried.

My install of MPlayer OS X was rc1, I think, which may explain the
difference. I had mplayer_noaltivec, mplayer_ppc, and mplayer_intel.
What did you have? It should be clear from the name which version to
use on a given machine.

3. Find slimserver.pl inside the Server folder of the package
Contents.
4. Drag this to the Terminal window.
You will find that the window now has the full path to slimserver.pl
inside it, and just pressing Return will run it.
This method saves a lot of typing.

Squeezecenter off and on again (several times).
The text of Custom.map reads

I tried several ways of entering the file name. For instance
/Users/danco/Friday Play.m3u
gave an error, as did
/Users/danco/Friday\ Play.m3u
whereas, when I altered the name by removing the space,
/Users/danco/FridayPlay.m3u was fine.
Also, following your suggestion,

redundant and could be removed from AlienBBC.
Makes sense, just a touch confusing for those moving over.
Regaring the test - in your example with the file:// it may be a typo
but your example should have had 3 slashes if your are providing the
full path as in

mplayer.sh lives (or used to live, in SlimServer 6.5.x) in a folder
named bin inside the SlimDevices folder in the Library. My
installation is for one user only, so I am referring to ~/Library. I
expect the relevant Library is /Library if installed for all users.

Problem is actually that I have a repeat Airport Base station. SB works
fine even though making two hops (main base station is connected by
ehternet).
Problem is that in the course of changing computers the second base
station got knocked out, and I haven't got it working yet.

I think it may be time for someone who is more knowledgable to look at

needed for different Macs, 10.3, 10.4 on PowerMacs, 10.4 on Intel Macs.

If you use a Web browser to go to the BBC site, you will see a message
'We are having severe technical problems with Radio Player which are
affecting availability.
They must be really severe as the message has been there for several
