Kathy,
You said the magic words "FREE BSD"! My eyes just opened up wide. I
have 3 Free BSD servers up and running at home, and 2 at work. Do you use
FREE BSD with any CAD packages for EE and if so which/what???
Thanks,

some reason routing might only take 12 minutes but straightening might run
for hours???

Hi ALL,
I am using 99SE SP6 on a nice new DELL and just finished auto
issues are
probably trying, but I will try to remember that in the future and pass
along the good deed to some other poor new floundering fool like myself.

has been! There are no visible error messages but my assumption is that
something changed which kills it altogether. Any ideas??? My wild guess is
that design rules are at fault somehow??

I can't for the life of me understand with the prevalence of
different supply voltages of chips, why Protel uses hidden power pins and
fixed net names. I am using +1.8V, +3.3V and +5V on one board.

In between all the cute digs at who is stupid and who is not, this
net has real value in that solutions do bubble up as to how to work around
problems. That is what engineering is all about.
THANKS AGAIN FOLKS!!

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and I was advised that I needed to
reset the DRC error flags. This may not be your problem, but it definitely
was my problem. I had the identical symptom. I reset the error flags and the
router started working again!
Good Luck,

. Naturally they
will not route if they are not on the netlist. I am on a mission to get
PROTEL awareness of these nasty bugs! No luck yet!
