Sounds complicated to me but it's good that you have found a way to reverse the UE upgrade on an SBRadio. More importantly (IMO), can a newly purchased UERadio be downgraded to the more functional SBRadio? Wouldn't that be more applicable for adding the new UE devices to an existing Squeezebox

I upgraded to the UE firmware. It is working for me without issue. However, as a lifeline, I wanted to add back the Firmware Upgrade option just in case. I was able to successfully to change the file, as noted by bluegaspode, by removing the two minus signs in the file using Terminal in Mac OS

Thanks to those providing firmware links and assistance in this forum. I upgraded my squeezebox to smart radio, and then reverted back to squeezebox due to problems: * Galaxy SIII could not find the radio on WiFi or with pin. The smart radio did associate with my uesmartradio.com account. *
