My thought too, (I've gone the reset route already) except that the

really off (after holding the power button for a while) and not just
in the state

no problem, installed UE Music Library no problem.
Played a few radio stations and a few tracks from my music library, no
problem, but decided it was time I reverted back to SB Radio - Problem!

Sick of the drop-outs, loss of the server for days at a time and
irregular alarm performance, I took the update path (not upgrade) this
evening and found it very easy and satisfying. Apart from the new style
user interface and slightly different menus, after reinstalling my
presets and alarms,
Remove battery pull the cord hold put in the power-cord release
Wait to boot it go back to the Squeeze box software.
I done it yesterday and it works.
