This certainly exceeds the 75% open we normally think of as "Un-obstructed"
for lattice or egg crate. By using the spray pattern development in your
5'-0' clear space above the wood, to determine your spacing, you'll assure
full coverage.

Sprinkler Age had a number of articles on this topic, I remember a 3 part
article that ended in Jan 2007. And there were more before that. Look at

Through testing TYCO has
shown that with the proper placement and spray pattern the sprinkler spray
cools the glass before it reaches a temperature that might cause the glazing
to shatter.

Of course it's MORE than adequate for a 1 hr wall, the question was is there
a "Less" that would work for 1 hr, but not 2 hr? Maybe a smaller orifice or
totally different head or even a vert. sidewall? Hence "Window Sprinkler

the owner and let him decide. I really hate to do more than is required, but
if the owner wants to pay me for a fire pump they don't need, hell I'll sell
them one. The bypass will either keep it from ever coming on, or because
it's there I can reduce some pipe sizes.

V's because our systems can have extreme
fluctuations in temperature and then pressure as a result of the large temp

When I've done the under floor supplied booths, we did protect the plenum's
because paint was heavier than air, and would collect in the plenum, same as
floor.
Overhead plenum shouldn't have that problem.
