RE: nfl game pass

2017-08-11 Thread Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc. via Talk
Sis Pam, I haven't gone to Cors Field, our baseball stadium yet! Since most
games are played at night, it has been tough picking a day in which to go.
If possible, I'd like to go to a day game, but I'll bring my headset AM/FM
radio to the ballpark else I'll be left in the dust.

I did go to the Denver Broncos stadium a few times without a radio of
course. That, I wouldn't do again!

When I walked around a few ponds in Europe, I detested listening to Tv calls
for English Football, sorry, soccer! I always preferred listening to the
games on the radio. Upon return to the U.S. though, I thought that Tv game
calls here would be more exciting. I was wrong and it didn't take too long
to find out. Radio will always be my personal preference when it comes to
listening to any game calls and descriptions. I have enjoyed the guys who
do it here in my clan and on ESPN radio stations around here.

Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado

RE: nfl game pass

2017-08-11 Thread Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc. via Talk
Tom, what happened to me wasn't an Android thing! As I said, I should have
extracted the .APK file for keeps, but I didn't! All my apps, except for
the Football Radio one installed with no problems. What I later discovered
was that the author chose to convert the apps into two separate ones.
Previously, everything was contained in one app and all I had to do was
choose College or Pro football in the drop-down list.

If I had extracted the .APK before performing a factory reset, I wouldn't
have had the problem.

It's ok though; I typically don't follow college football much. I can, if I
so choose, get college football broadcasts on ESPN stations in my clan!

Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado

Checking Android after typing "ProRadio" in the search box, I found one

Hi. Actually, you don't need premium for NHL games. TuneIn will
probably be also great for college football, at least it was last year.

Hi.

I can't speak for Tunein on a PC, but the iPhone version has regular season
and playoff NFL games archived. I checked for the Dallas game from last
week, but it wasn't archived, at least not yet. I like Tunein on my iPhone,
because for $10 per month I get all the major pro sports in the U.S., and
MLB games are archived, and I think this is true for other pro sports. Just
recently I listened to last year's Dallas Green Bay playoff game. As I
said, I don't know how Tunein works on a PC.

Have a blessed day and don't work too hard.

2017-08-11 Thread mack via Talk
luckily i'm in a football town. i have cable tv. when my sighted partner
and i watch the game, most of the time the tv is ahead of the radio, so
i hit pause on the cable remote for about 2 seconds, and eventually i
get the two enteties in sinc so that we can both enjoy.

Re: nfl game pass

2017-08-10 Thread Debby Franson via Talk

Hi everyone!

A couple of friends of mine are both sports fans. He is sighted and she is
blind. When football or baseball season is on, he will be watching the TV
and she'll be listening to the radio, because she has the same problem of
lack of description from the TV. She says it's kind of funny, though,
because the radio and TV don't match up, due to the different media, so
he'll be cheering and she'll have to wait until the radio catches up to
find out what the excitement is about. All of that frivelous talk instead
of giving play-by-plays on TV is boring.

Re: nfl game pass

2017-08-10 Thread Pamela Dominguez via Talk
They wouldn't let you take your radio with you? A lot of people I know who
go to baseball games, take their radios. Talking about television versus
radio: George always said he liked it on radio better. There's a guy I know
who is just recently blind. He always puts the met games on on TV. I ask
him why, and he said he is used to it. I told him the radio gives better
announcing, because they have to: there is no picture to rely on. But I
guess old habits die hard. He mentioned something about having to listen to
it on the radio, and it made me wonder why he would refer to it in that way.
He is still thinking he can see it on the television, even though he can't.

Kevin, you do have a point! The trouble with Tv football commentary is that
the folks describing the game typically keep engaging sometimes in
irrelevant chatter and barely keep pace with the game.

Around my friends, I would listen to football on the radio using a headset
with built-in AM/FM radio; when I yell out "TOUCH DOWN," they get mad at me.
Why? It hadn't been shown on Tv yet. It takes them about another 20
seconds or so to see it.

My friends don't want me getting too excited at yelling out "touch down"
when my team gets one. They rely on Tv, radio conveys the info much faster
and they don't understand why that is.

I too find listening to the games on Tv extremely boring with very little
information about the game being passed to me in a way that makes real
sense.

Unless I can sit in the broadcast booth, I won't plan on going to the
Broncos stadium anymore! I can't follow the game, the colleagues I am with
are busy watching it, and they won't describe any aspect of it to me. I
like going to the soccer stadium because there's an announcer who does
describe the goings-on on the field in some shape or form, though never as
good as what will be done on radio.

But oh well, what do I know? Just an insignificant specie playing tag along
in all the wrong places, <LOL!? Go Rockies, Go Broncos, Go Dodgers!! Just
find a way to bring the championship trophies to the great West!

Sincerely,
Olusegun

Olusegun,
This has nothing to do with the thread, but I'm curious about losing
that app, just in case I ever decide to try an Android device.
If I reset my iPhone or iPad all I have to do is open the app store and
download all my previously purchased apps. Are you on your own in this
regard on Android? Am I correct in assuming there's a PC or cloud backup
you should have used in order to restore apps?

Thanks,

RE: nfl game pass

2017-08-10 Thread Kevin Minor via Talk
Hi.

I can't speak for Tunein on a PC, but the iPhone version has regular season and
playoff NFL games archived. I checked for the Dallas game from last week, but
it wasn't archived, at least not yet. I like Tunein on my iPhone, because for
$10 per month I get all the major pro sports in the U.S., and MLB games are
archived, and I think this is true for other pro sports. Just recently I
listened to last year's Dallas Green Bay playoff game. As I said, I don't know
how Tunein works on a PC.

Have a blessed day and don't work too hard.

He was attempting to point out that the descriptions on most televised

Re: nfl game pass

I wouldn't pay that either. I've been a sports fan all my life and
sports on TV has gotten terrible! The broadcasters can hardly be heard
do to allowing croud noise into the booth and other loud sound affects.
Plus the broadcasters BS about other subjects other than the sport they
are calling. So, I'm stuck listening to whatever I can find on the A M dial.
