Hello, As far as starting your subscription, I am not totally positive since I started mine back at the beginning, but I believe it is once you go to settings/music and turn on Apple Music. As far as downloading music, music is automatically streamed unless you have the automatic download

Apple Music questions

I've been playing around with the Apple Music app to see how it is structured before I try to use it. I understand there is a three month trial before paying for a subscription. I am unsure what triggers this, and I don't want to do it prematurely and then find I can't put it into the budget.
