Yep, the rotor in a call thing doesn't change the proportion on a 4S. I'm starting to become a believer in the idea that different batches have different issues because I had my first 4S replaced with the current one in April because the volume buttons got sensitive to even the vibration alert.

Yes, the volume levels are more broken down than many of us thought, but there's no central audio headquarters so to speak to set them all. I'm not sure if the ringer controls the music or At Bat, but it's granular enough that you need to use that rotor on a call to raise up the volume of VO.
