Wanting to understand wireless hot-spots better

2017-03-20 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have an older gentleman friend, who has an iPhone 5S, I believe.
Technology tends to make him a bit nervous. But he tries hard to
understand things.

He wants to get a wireless hot-spot for his home, because he doesn't
have internet from 1 of the companies that are offered out here.

I want to help him out, and I can usually answer a lot of his questions.
But this is 1 I don't really understand myself.

How does a hot-spot work?

Don't you already have to have internet, in order to be able to use a
wireless hot-spot?

I know that on our phones, there is an option to turn wireless hot-spot
on. But I thought that you could use your phone like this, if you were
in public, and you wanted to connect to the WIFI that was there,
wherever you were.

Is this not the case?

He told me he bought a hot-spot from Walmart a few days ago, but that he
was going to return it. When I asked him why, he said that it didn't
offer good enough range. I don't know enough, or much at all honestly,
on this subject, in order to help him.

His phone is the only thing he has at the moment, for internet. His data
is limited, and this he can't change. But that's a whole other story.

Any help with this, will really be much appreciated! I want to be able
to help my friend out, as much as I can.

Thank you,

Terri

Finding Netflix content

2017-04-03 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I was wondering, how do you all go about finding content on Netflix?

I have been looking for some shows. I can't find them. So it is very
possible that they aren't there.

I have tried using dictation to find the shows, as well as typing in the
names of the shows.

1 show I would like to start watching again is, ER. Also, Third Watch.

Can someone help me figure this out, please?

Thank you,

Terri

Bluetooth Keyboard repeating letters

2017-04-03 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello once more,

I have talked about this issue before. But I wanted to find out if the
problem still existed for anyone, or if it is just happening to me.

I am using a 5S. I have a Boxwave Buddy keyboard. When I mention the
problem I am having, I am not talking about the known bug that can
happen, that can be fixed by turning off voiceover, then turning it back
on again.

Although, it would be great if that bug was fixed! I haven't updated to
the latest update yet. So maybe that has finally been fixed.

Anyway, whenever I am typing on my keyboard, sometimes it will add a
letter to a word, 2 or 3 more times than I need it too. This is highly
anoying, as you can probably imagine. I have to listen for the errors,
or realize the phone is letting me know that a word has been mis-spelled.

Sometimes, while writing a text, or posting on Facebook, it may only
happen once. Other times when writing out something, it happens way too
much!

The keyboard is used.

However, it was given to me by a friend who takes great care of her
stuff. The keys don't seem too sensative. Actually, at first it was
difficult to press the numbers. But this has improved.

Does anyone else deal with this?

If so, do you have any reccomendations as to how to deal with the issue?

Any thoughts, or suggestions, would be grately appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Re: Bluetooth Keyboard repeating letters

2017-04-04 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello Mama Peach,

First of all, thank you for letting me know about this setting. I never
even knew such a thing existed!

I did follow your instructions, and found just what you were referring
to. I turned the repeat key option off.

However, I still seem to be having the issue. I even restarted the phone
to see if that might help. Even though I knew it likely wouldn't.

But I do appreciate the suggestion.

I wonder if it could somehow just be the keyboard itself? But I don't
know enough about this sort of stuff.

Have a great day!

Terri

Curious about iPhones, and Android phones, and if they can do certain things together

2017-04-04 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Ok first of all, I apologize for the kind of odd, and long subject line
there. But I had know idea as to how else to put that.

I was wondering, can an Android phone, and an iPhone work together with
similar Apps?

I know that the Androids have some games that the iPhones have, and you
can play people no matter the type of phone.

For instance, Dice World.

But say you wanted to share your location, or have something such as
find your friends?

Is this even possible?

I would like to be able to have something like this, between a friend of
mine who obviously has an android phone, and myself. I doubt it's
possible. But I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

I realize that if something like this does exist, we would both have to
download the App.

And if it does exist, how accessible might it be for me?

Thank you,

Terri

Regarding Apple tv, and cable provider

2017-04-13 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

If this message already went through, I do apologize. I don't see it in
my sent folder, and I seem to be having some email issues.

Anyway, I was wondering, how do I go about advocating to get my cable
provider a part of Apple tv's choices? Or Apple, in general?

Is this even possible?

If so, who would I even go about contacting? And do you all think it's
worth it?

I see that right now very few options are available, and I don't really
understand why.

I have Spectrum, which used to be Charter. But a while back they took
over 2 other companies. But I am sure many of you are aware of this.

Anyway, I would like to have my cable provider as an option, because I
would like to use certain Apps on my Apple tv, provided they will be
accessible.

For instance, Investigation, Discovery, go.

If anyone has any thoughts, or ideas, please feel free to share them
with me.

Thank you,

Terri

Hi Jim, and list,

Well, no, I am not sure. Not after you said this.

I didn't know we couldn't access the whole list. Or that it wasn't
accessible. I just assumed that it was.

So how do we find such a list?

Do you, or anyone else have any ideas?

Thank you,

Terri

Re: Looking for some new ring tones

2017-04-13 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hi Joney, and list,

Ok, I put the Zedge App back on my iPhone 5S. I made an account from the
website, because I figured that I needed to do so. There was an option to
select my device. So I did this. But it just seemed as though it wanted to show
me the specifications of my phone. That wasn't helpful!

>From the App, before I went and made the account, I was able to send myself a
>couple of ringtones, by email.

However, when I viewed the emails, I figured there would be a file attached.
There wasn't.

Instead, there were links. So I went back to 1 of the emails, and I entered on
the link. It just took me to the website, which didn't seem to helpful. This is
when I signed up for an account.

What could I be doing wrong?

Or what could be going on?

Does anyone have any ideas?

I was really hoping I could use this App. Guess not!

Thank you,

Terri

I personally like to use the app “Ringtone Maker Pro” because it will let me
use audio files installed in my music library as well as record custom messages
to serve as ring and text tones.

As a totally blind user, I find it completely accessible!

CAVEAT: When you search for the app in the App Store you’ll be looking for

Regarding Zedge

2017-04-13 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have been wanting to use Zedge for some time now. So I am happy that
someone brought this up. And that someone else was kind enough to
explain a way to use it.

When I have viewed it in the past, there seemed no way to really use it.

Now I downloaded it again. When it first came up, I hit the continue
button, after it talked about the privacy policy, and such.

But then there was a thing that came up, saying welcome to Zedge, or
something like that. There was an option of page 1, of 3, and a skip
button. But I couldn't figure out what it was I was skipping. So I just
skipped it anyway.

I have been able to email myself a few ring tones, which was awesome.
There does seem to be an unlabeled tab. This hasn't seemed to affect me
so far though. It never did ask me for the type of iPhone I was using.
But maybe that doesn't matter?

I will admit, I am not looking forward to using Itunes. I don't use it,
if I don't have to do so. I do not have the current version. Not
actually sure just which version I have. But I just know it isn't the
latest version.

I am hoping the version I have will work fine with windows 7, and Jaws
17. And that I can remember how to use it.

Now with all that said, here is a big issue I am having.

When I stop, or close a ringtone I am viewing, I get kicked out of
Zedge. This also happens if I back out of a catagory.

Has anyone else experienced this?

If so, is there anything that can be done about it?

It seems to happen pretty frequently. Quite honestly, I find it pretty
annoying.

Any help, or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Who to contact regarding cable provider and Apple tv

2017-04-13 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello once more, everyone,

I was wondering, does anyone know who I might contact, to attempt to get

I really want this to happen. But I don't know what I could do about it,

that have to be tied to my cable account.

Such as, Investigation Discovery Go.

I have Spectrum. Which was Charter, until they took over 2 other

Any help, thoughts, or suggestions, would be quite appreciated.

Adding items to Itunes library, as well as removing items

2017-04-15 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Ok, I am not the smartest, when it comes to using iTunes. I actually can
not stand the program, and wish I could add certain things differently.
Such as ringtones.

I actually upload audiobooks and other things, using Dropbox, and I
honestly prefer this method.

However, with this big discussion about ringtones, and such, I would
like to learn more, if possible.

I used to know a little on how to use iTunes. But I haven't done it in
so long now, I just can't remember.

I do not have the latest version. It does ask me to update, but I don't.

However, if the latest version would be more accessible with windows 7,
and Jaws 17, or even NVDA, then I would do it.

So I would appreciate thoughts and opinions on this.

Ok, how do I go about adding stuff to my iTunes library?

And how do I even find the library?

Also, can I make folders within the library?

Such as, if I wanted to put a folder for ringtones, in a certain folder,
under music? Or something like that?

Also, when I view iTunes, like I did today. I played a file that needed
to use iTunes. It showed all this stuff. I was really shocked, because I
never played these files within iTunes. Or I certainly don't remember
doing so. They were all mp3 files. Parts, or whole audiobooks, audio
movies, certain episodes of audio TV shows, and even music. It was
really strange seeing all of this.

So how would I go about removing all this? Can I do that?

Or is it possible that all this stuff just shows up, and isn't actually
in the library?

And now for the big question.

If I want a file, or files actually added to my library, how do I go
about doing this?

Once I add stuff, can I then move it to certain folders?

I am assuming that the items have to senk to iTunes, first?

If so, how does this work?

Well I do apologize for all of the questions. I realize there are many
here. But I honestly just do not remember much, when it comes to iTunes.

If any of you who want to answer my questions, but don't want to clutter
up the list, please feel free to contact me privately.

Thank you to all who may read this.

Apps to play classic country and bluegrass music

2017-03-12 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I was wondering, are there any good Apps out there, to be able to play
classic country, and bluegrass music?

I do have tune-in, but just the free version.

Also, if there aren't specific Apps, are there stations that are quite
accessible?

It would be helpful if I could use them on my iPad. But if they are more
accessible on the iPhone, that's perfectly fine.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thank you,

Terri

Weird situation with iPhone and Outlook

2017-03-08 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

For the last few days, I have noticed a strange problem with the outlook
App and my iPhone. At first, I didn't really give it much thought. It
started on Monday.

Usually whenever I get mail, it of course plays a sound. I rarely check
my mail with my phone, or write too many messages that way. Unless I
really need to do it this way, for some reason. Or honestly, if I am
watching something, and I need to write a quick message.

Anyway, the other day, I opened up the App, and I all of a sudden,
started receiving all of these messages. I hadn't checked the mail on my
laptop yet. But when mail comes in to the program I use on the laptop,
it still makes the alert sound on my phone.

Now it is silent and has been for the last 3 days.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on?

Should I close the App and then re-open it, and see what happens, once I
get mail?

I hadn't honestly thought to do this.

Also, if that doesn't work for some reason, are there other things I
could possibly try?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Re: downloading zedge ringtones

2017-04-14 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hi,

I didn't see an option for just emailing it to myself. Just a share option,
info, and possibly 1 other thing. But now I can't remember what that was. But I
know it was not the option to email it to myself. I found that under share, and
that's when it emailed me a link.

I am thinking of getting rid of the App anyway, because I can't seem to find
any music clips, when I search.

Sinking to iPhone

2017-04-17 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Ok, thanks to wonderful help, I have figured out how to add stuff to my
library, as well as delete stuff. So I really appreciate this.

However, I now have another issue that I could really use help with.

I have added some ringtones to my library. It shows they are there, and
tones is checked.

But I can't seem to select them all, and get them to sink. I don't know
what to do. I've tried selecting them, but this doesn't work. Then I
have just put the cursor on 1 ringtone. But this doesn't seem to work
either..

Every time I go to the option to sink, it's unavailable.

So what the heck am I possibly doing wrong? Can anyone help me, please?

By the way, the extention for the ringtone is correct.

Any help would be so appreciated. I am frustrated!

Thank you,

Terri

Wanted, tutorial for using iTunes with NVDA

2017-07-09 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Does anyone have a tutorial on using iTunes, and the latest version of NVDA?

If nobody has such a thing, do you all know where I might find something?

I could really use the help, please. I have the latest version of NVDA,
windows 7, and I think I am 1 update behind, when it comes to iTunes. I
use a laptop with a full-sized keyboard, including a number pad. If
knowing this makes a difference, or is helpful?

Thank you,

Terri

iPad Mini, and notifications

2017-06-27 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I am using my iPad Mini to look at Facebook, and use all the features. I
am also using it to access Messenger.

I seem to be getting my notifications from Messenger. At least, from
what I've noticed.

However, I am not receiving my Facebook notifications, for some reason.
I don't understand why this is either, as notifications are turned on,
including sound.

Now if I go to the Facebook App icon, I am aware that I have notifications.

So do any of you have ideas as to what could be going on?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Sound volume on iPad

2017-06-27 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello once more everyone,

I was wondering, is there a way I can change the volume for my sounds?

Or certain sounds, in general?

I've noticed that when I send or receive an iMessage, the sound is quite
low. It might be low with other sounds as well. I would imagine. But
this is what I have noticed, so far.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you,

Terri

Can you jail-break an Apple TV?

2017-07-05 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Over the last few years I have heard people talking about jail-breaking
their iPhones, and I believe, iPods as well.

What I am wondering is, can you possibly jail-break a 4th generation,
Apple TV?

If you can do this, will it possibly take away any of the accessibility
features?

Also, if this can be done, what would be some of the benefits of doing this?

Any thoughts, or advice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Got a bluetooth keyboard case

I would like to thank Tara, and Alex to responding to my questions. I
was able to find a bluetooth keyboard case, for my iPad Mini, 4th

So thank you again for the help. It is much appreciated.

What exactly is iCloud Drive, and why do I need it?

2017-04-27 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello again, everyone,

Ok, I think my subject says it all. I would like to know what exactly
iCloud Drive is.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Also, with the latest update, it states that I need it.

Why is this?

What happens if I don't want it?

Right now, I don't have it set up. But I will certainly do this, if at
all necessary.

Is it free, or does it cost?

I don't care either way. Just something I would like to know.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Have an email question, regarding iCloud accounts

2017-04-27 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

As my subject says, I have a question, regarding iCloud, email accounts.

First of all, can you only use the native mail App on your phone, or
Mac, to view an iCloud account?

Or do you have other options?

I have an older mac a friend was kind enough to give me, for Christmas.
I am learning it, but the process is quite slow. Though I am enjoying it.

But for now, I still use my windows 7 laptop, a lot!

I don't mind every once in a while viewing mail on my phone. But this is
something I prefer to do, only if I really have to do so. Just a
personal choice.

So I have had an iCloud account for some time now. I never use it
though, and I would like too.

Right now, as you can tell, I have an Outlook address. I like it a lot.

But I am having a lot of email issues lately. Sometimes my messages
hang, when I try to send them. Sometimes they seem to go through, just
fine. Either way, there are times people, or email lists I am on, never
receive my emails. I never quite know for sure, when this might happen.
And if the messages do hang, for some reason, I can't seem to always
save them as drafts.

Needless to say, I really believe it is the email client I am using,
which is Thunderbyrd. I used to really like it. I had some small issues
with it, every now and then. But even though they would frustrate me, I
could deal with them. But now things have gotten much worse, and I am
rather annoyed!

I would use something else. But I don't know what else is out there. And
I have attempted to look.

So I do want to use my iCloud account on my windows laptop, if at all
possible.

Do any of you have any ideas how I could make this happen?

Thank you,

Terri

Re: Have an email question, regarding iCloud accounts

2017-04-28 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello to Kliphton, Mark, and to others who responded to my questions.

First of all, I appreciate this.

Now I have a couple of other questions.

Ok, when I say that I use Thunderbyrd, is this considered an email client?
Maybe I am mixing up the differences between what Thunderbyrd should be
called, and what Outlook should be referred to as.
Also, I don't have any office products. Just can't really afford that
for now.
So if I have no office products, and no Outlook on my computer, then how
would this even work?
I do have the Outlook App on my iPhone. And of course, I have the mail,
native App. This is 1 place where I can of course view my iCloud mail
account.

Also, thank you Mark for the instructions you found for me. I appreciate
that.

Hello Chip,

Thank you for this information. I was really hoping that some of this
was possible. I was even more hopeful that someone may have some answers

Thank you, again

Sharing on Facebook

2017-04-30 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I was wondering, how do I go about sharing something on Facebook, using
my iPhone?

For instance, a few days ago, someone posted something that I really
liked. I wanted to share it. But I couldn't figure out how, for the life
of me.

Is this not possible?

Thank you,

Terri

Best accessible twitter App

2017-04-30 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello once more,

I am thinking of attempting to use Twitter. I used to have an account a
long time ago. But I am not all that fond of it, because your messages,
or status updates have to be so darn short. At least, that's how it used
to be.

Maybe this has changed?

Anyway, I want a way to vote, when it comes to the show, the Voice. You
can vote live, using Twitter.

So I wanted to know, which is the most accessible Twitter App out there?

I am assuming that I would already need an account set up, before using
any of the Apps out there?

Thank you,

Terri

Question regarding Android, and Apple music

2017-05-12 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

As I mentioned in an earlier message, a few days ago, I am giving
Android a shot!

I have nothing at all against Apple products. I am learning my Mac, and
am enjoying it. Also, I will definitely keep my Apple TV.

I just wanted to give Android a chance, and see what I think of it. Who
knows, I might end up really disliking it, and go back to the iPhone,
rather soon.

But now for a few questions, regarding Apple music.

I heard, or read, that you can use Apple music on Android.

Is this true?

If so, how does this work?

I mean, how do you still pay for it?

And how do you get the Android phone, to recognize the App?

Would I still see my library?

Can I still download music, save music, and even purchase music?

I did put the App on my phone, the other day.

However, when I tried to sign in, and enter the code I got from my iPad,
I kept being told that either my user name, or password was incorrect. I
know this is not the case at all! I know that information, quite well.

Does anyone know what might cause this to happen?

I tried a few times, and there weren't any changes.

By the way, I would just use my iPad for Apple music. But I plan to get
rid of it, quite soon. And I don't always want to listen to music, over
my TV.

I just don't get how all this would work. Maybe this isn't the proper
place to ask. If not, please someone point me in the right direction.

Also, I still get iCloud storage.

Will I still get this, due to having an Apple TV?

I pay a dollar for I think, 50 gigs.

Any help with any of my questions, will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Viewing Apps from within iTunes

2017-05-11 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have recently decided to try out an Android phone. Nothing against the
iPhone. Just a personal choice.

Anyway, I of course can't remember every App that I had on my iPhone, or
iPad. And I do know that some Apps I won't have access to, when it comes
to Android.

However, is there a way for me to go in to iTunes, and view the Apps
that were installed on my phone?

I no longer have the phone. So this is why I am wondering if I can do this.

Also, while most of my contacts moved over successfully, a few didn't
for some reason.

So within iTunes, is there a way to view my contacts, as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

How do I stop payment for iCloud storage

2017-05-18 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I pay about a dollar each month, for more iCloud storage. But I don't
really have use for it anymore.

So what do I need to do, in order to stop the 1 dollar payment from
coming out of my account?

Yes, I do realize it is only a dollar. But why spend it, if I do not
need the storage anymore?

Thank you,

Terri

Paring iPad and Samsung phone with keyboard

2017-06-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Is it at all possible to have both my Samsung phone and my iPad pared
with my bluetooth keyboard?

The keyboard will work with Android IOS, as well as with windows. But I
am thinking that, because they do similar things that I can't pare them.

So I would just like to know if this is correct?

Thank you,

Terri

iPad not backing up

2017-06-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everybody,

I keep my iPad plugged in, and locked, if it's not being used. I
understand that when it is connected wirelessly, plugged in, and locked,
that it should back up regularly.

However, this doesn't always seem to be happening. I was informed today
that my iPad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks.

How can I take care of this issue, and make sure it gets backed up at
least every 2, to 3 weeks, or even once a month would be good enough?

Thank you,

Terri

iPad and bluetooth speaker

2017-06-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello once more, everyone,

I have a bluetooth speaker that was once pared with my iPad.

However, I removed the speaker when I thought I was going to sale the iPad.

The speaker still remembers that it was once pared with the iPad, and
the iPad has it as an option. But whenever I try to pare the 2 back
together, the speaker informs me that the device couldn't be found. Then
the iPad tells me that there was a paring error.

I can't remember exactly which message it gives me, at the moment.

Anyway, how would I possibly go about fixing this issue?

Thank you,

Terri

Can I still download content from iTunes

2017-05-20 Thread Terri Stimmel

I was just wondering, can I still download content from iTunes, if all I

But I wasn't sure if I had to have an iPhone, or something like that, or

Re: What about purchasing from iTunes?

2017-05-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hi Mich, and list,

Yes, I must have figured that it must have been a lot of trouble. Or not
possible.

However, I no longer have an iPhone, or a iPad.

I now have an Android phone. But you can't seem to purchase from the
Apple App offered there.

Oh wait, what am I thinking?

I have a Mac I got this past Christmas. I don't really know much about
it yet. Still attempting to learn how to use it. Slow process, but
enjoying it.

However, I bet I can purchase things that way, for sure!

Thank you,

Terri

What about purchasing from iTunes?

2017-05-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I know I asked about downloading content on to my PC. I got help with
this question, and I appreciate it.

I of course do still have an Apple account.

But what I would like to know is, how do I go about purchasing items,
within the iTunes store?

I am mostly interested in music, at this time. Last night, I chose the
store option, once iTunes was running. But I just couldn't figure out
how the heck to purchase an album. I found the album, and could play it.
But I want to actually purchase it. This is important to me.

Figuring this out, using my iPhone, and iPad, was definitely much easier!

I sure hope someone may have some ideas for me.

Thank you,

Terri

Wireless connection in hospital and odd issues

2017-09-18 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I am currently in 1 of my local hospitals, and I am using the unsecured guest
wireless connection, as this is all I have access to.
However, I have some strange issues, and I don't understand why.

If I try to listen to stuff in my music library, or go to he App Store, with
the wireless connection on, the App Store won't connect, and my music won't
play.

But if I just use my cellular data, things seem to work better.

Also, I have problems with receiving my email, when I use the wifi.

What could be going on?
Why might this happen?

I know from others, and from being in this hospital before, that the wifi isn't
very good.
However, I've never seen it like this.

Anyone have any ideas?
Can I do anything to make things work better?
I haven't updated to 11. Also, I've never used this iPhone here.

Thank you,

Terri

Questions regarding Apple music

2017-09-21 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I no longer have my 64 gig iPad, which is fine.

However, I still have an older iPhone, the 5S, 16 gig model. Eventually
I would like to upgrade my phone. But this isn't the best time for me to
do this. So I have to use whatever works.

Now here is what I would like to know.

If I add music to my library, as long as I don't download an album, then
it doesn't take space up on my phone, right?

I really would like to download stuff. But I know I would run out of
space, pretty quickly. I certainly don't want this.

If I can get a phone with more space down the road, this would be great!

But if getting an iPod would be better, which generation should I look
in to?

Thank you,

Terri

iPhone 6S

2017-10-14 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

About how much does a 6S cost?

And by this coming September, will my 5SE basically be no good anymore?

I am asking this, because I discovered today that my Boxwave Buddy
keyboard doesn't seem to be able to charge anymore. I am not sure why,
or what could have happened. But I have tried 3 different times to
charge it, today.

So if I purchase an 6S, I want it unlocked. Is this where they started
to increase the memory? Or did that start with 7?

I know the more memory I want, the more the phone is likely to cost.

Any thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

This darn keyboard

2017-09-08 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I am still having trouble with my keyboard buddy case. It is on a 5S I
got not too long ago. I am used to having the little issue where you
just re-start Voiceover. That's annoying, but something iiI can live with.

However, this is the same keyboard that is now on another 5S. It didn't
act like this on the other 5S.

But whenever I try to type, most of the time it wants to put in double
letters.

For instance, if I want to write the word, it will likely put, A, P, pP,
P, L, E.

sometimes I think it's even worse than that.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on. This thing is
really annoying, and it's frustrating me. It's slowing my typing down.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Accessible Craig's List App

2017-09-08 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I used to have an accessible Craig's List App. But I don't remember what
it was called. I remember I ended up paying for it, at some point.

I found 1 App. I don't remember the name of it, exactly. But it was like
Smart CL, or something? That could be way off. So I do apologize.

Can anyone help me?

Also, has the apps, Let Go, and Offer-up become somewhat accessible, yet?

Thank you,

Terri

Accessible TV Apps

2017-09-09 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I realize we have discussed this somewhat, before. But I wanted to ask
some questions, because I am considering giving up my cable. But I want
it to be worth it, if I do this.

Right now I have Spectrum, and there is a huge problem with the
narrative guide. It's been this way for a while now, and nobody knows
when, or it will be fixed.

With the silver package, which does include, HBO, Sinamax, and Show
Time, I pay around 130. But this includes phone service I don't even
use, just got it so I could get the promotion.

It includes, the internet, and of course the cable.

I would like to find something quite accessible, and I'd like it to get
a few channels I really like.

I tried the Directv Now App when it first came out. I luckily only took
the trial. I found it more easier to use than Sling TV. But then in some
other ways, it was a bit more confusing.

I really want to see what happens once Youtube TV is released in Saint
Louis. I hope this is done sooner than later! And I hope it's accessible.

I have a Roku. Right now I use my Spectrum App on that, and I love it!

Whatever I use, I want on-demand. If I have to use an Antenna for local
channels, that's fine. Not thrilled, but something I can live with.

So what are my options?

I have a Roku I can use, along with my iPad. I have my phone as well.
But I don't care to put my phone on do not disturb, and such.

Any thoughts, ideas, and suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Dating sites

2017-09-13 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I know this will likely seem like an odd question to ask. But I figured
what could it hurt?

I was wondering, does anyone know of dating sites in the US, that are
pretty accessible with the iPhone, or iPad?

I find using my iPhone tends to be easier for me.

But I am looking for free, or sites that aren't too expensive. Ones that
are as accessible as possible. It doesn't matter if it's sites for
people with disabilities, or ones for people without, or mixed. I am
trying to keep my options open, here.

I know last year, I think it was, that Plenty of Fish was pretty accessible.

However, I would get a lot of these things that would say, so and so
wants to meet you. But when I would look at the profile, I knew it
couldn't be someone interested in me. And no, I am not saying that due
to my disabilities. It just wouldn't make sense.

So if anyone has any thoughts, or ideas, I would appreciate hearing them.

Thank you,

Terri

Questions regarding the Cash App

2017-09-10 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have some questions, regarding the Cash App. I apologize, I don't
remember who created it. But I used it once to pay someone.

What I would like to know is, can people take certain information from
this App, and put money in to your cash account?

Then could you move it to your bank, if desired?

I am trying to help a friend out. She wants to get a pre-paid card. She
wants him to be able to load money on it, online.

Does such a thing exist?

Thank you,

Terri

Bluetooth keyboard issue

2017-09-05 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I can't remember if I asked this or not. So if I have, I do apologize.

I am using an iPhone 5S. I have the Boxwave Buddy keyboard case on it,
which I love. I used it on my other 5S I had before, as well.

I've noticed something, and it's not the bug I have seen before where it
puts letters, and such. You definitely have to turn Voiceover off for
that to go away.

But if I am writing a text, or an email, if I write the word better, 3
t's might get entered. It seems to do this a lot. It can be fine
throughts parts of an email, or text, then mess up for a while.

It is rather annoying!

Does anyone have any ideas to what could be going on?

Thank you,

Terri

may have missed some things

2017-09-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Even though I know I think about going back to my Android. I remember
why I found an older iPhone I could afford to purchase.

However, I don't pay attention to every thread that comes across. I know
I should pay more attention than I do. But I receive a lot of email.

First of all, is it absolutely necessary to use the pass code?

If so, why?

Right now I am using 1. But I find it anoying!

Also, why when I go to my messages, am I not seeing all of my texts to
people?

Why am I only seeing a few?

And why when I go to delete a text or thread, does it put a weird word
there? I can't spell it?

Also sometimes, I have had to tap on that weird word to see a text. But
that's only happened once.

So what the heck is going on?

Thank you,

Terri

Re: may have missed some things

2017-09-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello Mama Peach, Sieghard, and list,

I just wanted to thank you both for helping me. I really appreciate it.

Right now, I don't feel I need the pass code on. I rarely go to too many
places. When I do, my phone never leaves my side. So I think for now I
am ok without this.

Also, I am using a 5SE.

I hope this is helpful?

I will try to remember to mention this, when I write other messages.

And Sieghard, my texts were showing me just what you thought it was.
That was so very odd!

Thank you for helping me fix it. I don't feel like I am going crazy now.
LOL!

Terri!

As for what version I am using on the iPhone, it's whatever is before

Why would my iPhone get better call quality with T-Mobile, than my LG Android phone

2017-09-24 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Maybe I am asking a loaded question here. I don't know.

But since I stopped using my LG Android phone over T-Mobile, which most
calls were made over WIFI, the call quality was sometimes poor. I would
break up a lot! It was insane!

Now with my used iPhone 5S, this is never an issue.

So what's the difference?

Is it the quality of the phone?

Is it some settings between the phones?

Could it be my WIFI somehow, when the calls are made around here?

I am just curious. In some ways, I want to go back to my Android. There
are things I like about it. Plus, I won't have to upgrade it for a while.

Not to mention, I am still paying it off.

But I am really torn, as I want great call quality also, and some of the
features of the iPhone.

What do you all think?

Now I am not trying to start anything here. No battles, or anything like
that. Just honest opinions, or objectives.

This is very serious to me!

Thank you,

Terri

Removing Sim card from phone

2017-09-24 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me, how do I go about removing my Sim card, from my
iPhone 5S?

Do I need a certain tool, to be able to do this?

Also, where is it even located?

Dating options discussed again

2017-09-26 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

A while back I asked about dating Apps and such.

Someone was nice and replied, saying that Match and POF were useable, if
you had some slight vision.

I apologize, because I just can't remember who this was?

Anyway, Match says you can sign up free, and so I thought you could use
it free. But just be limited as to what you could do?

As for POF, I tried signing up online, and I ran in to a capcha issue.
Of course!

Maybe I'll just live with my cats! LOL!

Thank you,

Terri

Apps for flights, or possible trains

2017-09-26 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have a friend who would like to come and see me. But I haven't looked
at airplane, ticket prices in quite a long time. We are trying to find
them the best option.

They would have to leave out of a smaller airport, then fly out of a
larger 1, just on 1 flight, I believe, to get where I am.

Now that's if they fly, which they will likely do.

Are there App sites pretty accessible for finding the best flight prices?

Thank you,

Terri

Can iPad just be used over WIFI

2017-09-24 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I was wondering, if my iPad is no longer set up with AT, will it work
over just my WIFI connection?

Or does it have to have AT to keep it running?

For instance, if I want to download an album from Apple music?

Thank you,

What is the object for around 40 dollars called, where you can add stuff to your iPhone?

2017-08-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I wasn't quite sure how else to ask this question.

But long ago I heard of a device that you somehow connect to your
iPhone, and you won't have to use iTunes. I think this device was around
$40, if I am remembering correctly.

If so, how does this device work?

What can you upload to your iPhone, or possibly remove, when using this
device?

Thank you,

Terri

Wanted: unlocked, iPhone 5S, or5 S.E, 16, or 32 gig

2017-08-25 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

First of all, I got permission from Mark to post this.

Please contact me off-list with any responses, at the following address.

icecreamlove...@outlook.com

As my subject says, I am looking for an iPhone 5 S, or an iPhone 5S.E.

I would like 1 that is unlocked, or that will work on the T-Mobile
network. I would like 1 that is either 16 gigs, or 32 gigs. 32, or even
64 gigs would be preferred. But I can't make payment until the end of
this month.

I don't care what color the phone is, though I really do not want rose
gold. Also, I don't mind if there are some minor scratches, or anything
like that. As long as the phone completely functions as it should.

I don't want to spend more than 10. dollars. But I will consider
spending a bit more, depending on what is included with the phone.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to any, and all responses.

Got phone going, but have questions

2017-09-02 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

This message sort of covers different topics. I apologize for this. But
I didn't want to burden the list.

Ok Ias some of you might already know, I got a 5S last night. I love it!

I got it home, and I actually remembered how to set it up, on my own. I
must say i was proud of my self.

Most of my texts, Apps, and contacts were all there.

So first of all, what is keychain?

What are reasons we would want this?

I did set up a fingerprint, but I didn't want a passcode.

Also, when I type on my Boxwave bluetooth Buddy keyboard, it sometimes
puts extra letters in.

Now I know that there was a bug where the keyboards would do this. But
this isn't the same problem I have seen in the past.

Here is my last question for the time being.

Why would we want iCloud Drive?

What exactly does it do?

How can it be helpful?

Also, what is the cost of it?

Well I am off for now. I hope you all didn't mind the questions.

Came back home! Love it!

2017-09-02 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Some of you gave me some wonderful information to try and find an
iPhone. I really wanted a 5S, due to the keyboard case i got last Christmas.

Well I found an ad on Craigslist, and it was a gentleman saling
different models of iphones. So I called him. He told me that this was
his side job, and he knew very little about my Android.

But I took a sighted friend with me, and the experience was a very
excellent 1. He ended up having a 5SE. I only spent $160 on it. There
are some small scratches on the phone but this doesn't matter to me. My
case covers them anyway.

He had a 32 gig 6S, and i was going to go with that, but it coste\ about
125 dollars more. I just couldn't do that.

So yes, I am back, and I love it!

Thank you,

Terri

Quick question, about files and transferring

2017-09-02 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have been trying to keep up with this thread. But I have a couple of
question, and I hope some of you can answer them for me.

First of all, I have a premium Dropbox account. I use it all the time.
It's on my iPad, and it's about to go on to the iPhone as well.

I also have Voice Dream Reader.

Now if i am understanding correctly, when listening to anything from
within Dropbox, it has to be unzipped, correct?

But in Voicedream reader, this is not the case?

Also what types of files can we listen to, using either Dropbox, or
Voicestream?

And are there other Apps out there also, that might be handy to have?

Thank you,

Terri

Phone keeps reading out time, when I pick it up

2017-09-02 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello again everyone,

I have a rather odd situation that I've never had before.

Now I have 5SE, instead of just the 5S. I don't know if that matters or not.

My phone is locked when I don't use it.

However a lot of times when I pick up the phone, before I unlock it, the
time is announced.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Can I do anything about it>

games to play on iPhone

2017-09-03 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I know we likely discuss a lot of this on here. But I figured it
wouldn't hurt to ask. I mean, you get others opinions, and what not.

First of all, when I was using Android, there was this game called,
Talking Stones. I believe it was made by Woodside Apps. But this could
be wrong.

Does anyone know what kind of game I am talking about?

Also, I think I might be interested in the Blindfold games. But I wish
voiceover didn't have to be turned off, in order for it to work.

So I like games such as Talking Stones, I have Dice World. I am willing
to try the Blindfold games.

I like that game that was called Word Association II, or something like
that.

I'd like some different card games.

Maybe some games where you have to build things, to get what you want?

Or something where you had to line up stuff.

Does this make sense to any of you. If so, can some of you please help
me out.

I will say that I don't care for text adventure games.

Thank you,

Terri

Device to transfer stuff to the iPhone

2017-08-31 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Does anyone know what I mean, when I ask about a device where you can
somehow skip going through iTunes, and you can transfer stuff?

I don't know if you hook it up to your computer, or not. But I would
think so.

I believe when it was discussed way long ago, it was mentioned that it
was about 40 dollars.

If anybody has any ideas, pleas share them.

Thank you,

Terri

Posted completely wrong price for iPhone S, or S.E

2017-08-29 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello all,

A few days ago I posted that I was hoping to purchase either an iPhone
5S, or a iphone 5S.E.

It was pointed out to me that I said 10 dollars. I apologize, because
that was not at all what I meant.

I would like to find 1 for about no more than 200 dollars, if this is
possible?

It doesn't matter what color the phone is, and I don't mind if there are
minor scratches. As long as the phone is completely functional.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Questions regarding Uber, or Lift

2017-10-07 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello all,

I know there have been many questions on this list, regarding both of
these services. Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with the threads,
because I don't travel alone. Just a personal choice.

However, now I have some questions about both services.

First of all, is there a difference in the services?

Is 1 better over the other? I know that will be opinion. But sometimes
there isn't anything wrong with this.

Is 1 App easier to use than the other?

Now if I set up 1 of these Apps on my phone, do you always have to pay
with a card?

And if the App is on my phone, can I send an Uber, or Lift driver to
maybe pick a friend up, as long as the charges are set to my card?

Also, will you know ahead of time how much a trip might cost?

What does each App go by, when it comes to pricing?

Any help with any of this would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Instacart is driving me crazy!

2017-10-07 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

Instacart is going to cause me to pull my hair out!

By any chance, could someone please help me?

First of all, I haven't used the App in probably 4 months. I even
removed it from my phone, until today.

Now I need to use it again today. And I feel from now on I will just
leave the App on my phone.

So anyway, I signed in with what I thought was my sign in information.

However, I will admit, I couldn't remember it for certain.

But it seemed as though it recognized me, because it showed me the items
I last ordered.

So I went about ordering stuff. But I couldn't remember how to add stuff
to my cart. So instead I made a list, and just decided to add that to
the list, once I was done.

But then it turned in to a huge mess. I kept seeing buttons for log-in,
or log in with existing account. I even saw an area to enter your zip code.

Well nothing would work for me. Nothing happened when I attempted to use
either log-in option. Also, I couldn't enter a zip code, it wouldn't let me.

So I called a good friend of mine who uses the App regularly. He
refreshed my memory on how to add stuff to the cart.

Then he went through his App, and he told me if I went to the my items
area, I should see what I last ordered. But that I should also see my
list. I think it was it's own separate option.

However, I can't find that list anywhere. I am frurstrated, because it
took me a while to make the list.

What do I do?

Where do I start with my issues?

Any help would be so great!

Thank you,

Terri

This is not my day to get anything to work. Lift issues

2017-10-07 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

So I am trying to get Lift set up on my phone.

I got to the point where I am supposed to enter a code, that I received
in a text message.

However, I can't enter the code. There seems to be no box. So what the
heck am I supposed to do?

I've tapped on different areas, thinking a box would come up. Nothing
happens. I even tried using the phone keypad, and not my bluetooth
keyboard. But that didn't seem to make a difference.

What the heck could be going on?

Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't really want to sign up with my Facebook. I just haven't ever
been a big fan of that.

Thank you,

Terri

Problems with Seri

2017-10-12 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I can't spell Seri, I apologize.

However, I was wondering, is anyone having major problems with Seri?

Seri has always had trouble understanding me, with a lot I would say.

However, since the update, it seems so much worse!

If I ask for it to call a number that I know is in my phone, sometimes
it does. Other times, it says it can't find such a place.

Then if I need to look up a buisness it will sometimes give me numbers
to places I didn't ask for. Or what is really bad, is that it will give
me to numbers, maybe to what I asked for, but in a different city, even
a different state, at times.

What has made this worse?

Is there anything I can do about it?

I try to always speak clearly. And I can understand some mistakes.

For instance, earlier tonight I ordered pizza, from Pizza Hut. When it
first called the place, it called the 1 in Clinton, instead of Fenton.

I do have a bit of a lisp, but it's not that bad.

Is there anything I can do, as this is really getting out of hand.

When I had my Android phone, Google rarely mis-understood me. I am not
saying it never happened, or I wasn't frustrated. But it was a lot more
rare, and I don't understand why.

Any thoughts or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Regarding deleted texts

2017-10-22 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I think I already know the answer to my own question. I just want to
check, to make sure.

The other day I was trying to delete some text messages. I accidentally
deleted a number, that had texts in it. It wasn't a number I had saved yet.

I can't remember if these were I-messages, or not. But I don't think so.

Anyway, is it possible to get these texts back, or are they gone for good?

Honestly, I don't care so much about the texts, I just really need that
phone number. I don't remember it. I can not believe I did this!

Anyway, is there anything I can possibly do?

Thank you,

Terri

Sending folders in Outlook, App, used on iPhone

2017-11-26 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I use the Outlook App on my iPhone. From what I can tell, not all folders sent
with the mail on my laptop, and the mail on my phone.
For instance, on my laptop, I have a message in my drafts folder. But within
the Outlook on my iPhone, that folder is blank.

Is there a way to correct this?
If so, what do I need to do?
I’ve looked through the settings, but I can’t find what I need. Also, I don’t
know if this will make a difference. But I don’t use Outlook as my client on my
laptop. I use Thunderbird.

Thank you,

Terri

Bard App questions

2017-12-13 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

It's been quite a while since I have used the Bard App. I have it on my
Android phone. But I want to put it on my iPhone.

First of all, if I am looking at the recent books added, and I find a
book I'm interested in, how do I get more information on it?

Also, do I have to download it, or add it to my wish list?

And how do I do either of these things?

Also, is there a way to control the volume of a book?

And if you stop reading, then you come back to read it again, will it
remember where you left off?

And my last question is this.

Can you read more than 1 book at a time?

Thank you all for any help that can be offered.

I know this is a longshot, but!

2017-12-14 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I know that there used to be a list open to talking about all, and any
cell phones. But I don't know if it exists, any longer.

So I thought I would ask my question here. Maybe someone can point me in
the right direction.

I honestly doubt this exists.

But does anyone out there who deals with phones, or the companies who
produce them, produce a flip phone?

1 that was an Android. I don't really want a Blackberry, sense they seem
to be for people who deal with more buisness type stuff.

But if possible, I'd like to have a flip-phone, that had bluetooth, or a
full-sized keyboard. Or at least to make it worked as a full-sized one.

I'd like it to have a camera, GPS, and of course be able to add Apps to
it, and be able to completely use it on my own.

Is there such a thing that exists?

I highly doubt it. But I had to try. LOL!

Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

SIRI drives me crazy!

2017-11-14 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello all,

I am jumping in to this late in to the game.

But I basically just wanted to say, that SIRI is such a pain for me! She
rarely understands me. Well, maybe it's not that bad. But it's
definitely bad enough.

Like others have mentioned, she can't find contacts sometimes, and so
she will findd the number online. A lot of times when I ask her simple
questions, she won't have an answer at all, or sends me to the web.

Even though there are things about my Android that I don't care for,
Google does seem to recognize, and what I need her to do. Sometimes I
have to ask twice, but rarely.

I just thought I would share my thoughts.

Thank you,

Terri

The Mail App and rather I should update to the latest update

2017-11-19 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I want a couple of questions answered, if possible, please. I didn't
want to make this in to 2 different messages.

I don't see the Mail App on my phone anymore?

What happened to it?

And how do I now get to it?

Also, I was wondering, is it wise to update to 11.1?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Question regarding my iPhone, and it only working over WIFI

2017-11-12 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have some questions regarding my iPhone.

Sense my cell service has been blocked, and now I can only use my WIFI
to do some things, I've discovered something interesting.

If I use my Android phone and text someone with an iPhone, the person
won't get the text. Same thing happens, if they text my Android. I'll
never see it.

However, if I Face Time someone, or send someone an iMessage, it doesn't
show up as a number, but as my iCloud address.

How do I fix it that if someone with an iPhone just wants to call my
actual number, they are able to do so?

Any help with this will be appreciated.

Differences between the calendar, and reminders

2017-11-16 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everybody,

Alright, I know what a calendar is.

But when it comes to the iPhone, what is the difference between the
calendar App, and the reminders App?

I make notes of when I have appointments coming up. But of course, if I
don't think to look at my notes for the week, I am likely to miss something.

So would it be best to set up a reminder? Or better to set up within the
calendar?

When I used to set up medication reminders, the App would annoy me,
because if I shut it off, it would still show I had something overdue.

I would appreciate thoughts on this.

Thank you,

Terri

Questions about rather phones are locked, or unlocked

2017-11-01 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have had a rather odd situation come up, and I do not know at all what
to think.

Back in the beginning of September, I bought an iPhone SE, from a
gentleman on Craig's List, who purchases phones, then sales them.
According to him, whenever he gets an iPhone, he holds on to it for a
few weeks, before listing it, to make sure there aren't any issues.

Well I asked him last week, if he might have an SE with more space,
around December, or so. He told me he would see what he could do. And he
asked me in the mean time to get the phone I have on the T-Mobile
network, unlocked. He said this would make it easier for him to sell. He
was going to take this phone back, as a partial trade.

Well, I called yesterday to see what I needed to do. I was told by
T-Mobile, that this phone had tried to be unlocked on the 19th. But
that's not possible! But they said they could do it again. I told them
that I never received unlocking instructions, or any emails from them,
regarding such a thing.

Well, I was told by the gentleman on the phone, that within 24 hours, I
should receive an email with instructions on how to unlock my phone, and
a code. This never happened. But here is where things get really weird!

At about 9:15 this morning, which would have been about 24 hours from my
call to T-mobile, yesterday, my phone lost service. So when my friend
arrived, I asked her if she had service. I thought maybe there was an
odd outage. But she had service. So we went to the T-Mobile store.

I explained everything to the woman that was there, and I could tell she
wanted to try and help me. But the guy that was working there, had her
go do something else, and I got the feeling he was trying to blow me
off. So did my friend. I had tried to explain everything to him, and he
just kept saying that I should go to the Apple store.

Well we left, and as we sat in the parking lot, I called T-Mobile on my
friend's phone. I explained what went on yesterday when I called to get
it unlocked. I explained what happened this morning, and how quickly it
happened. And I told them I had gone to the local store to try and get help.

Well somehow, this phone was blocked. It was reported stolen.

Now how could that happen so suddenly?

So I contacted the man I bought the phone from, to begin with, and he
told me that the phone didn't need to be unlocked, that only Android
phones had to be unlocked.

This does not sound correct to me. But I know very little about this stuff.

Also, if it didn't need to be unlocked, why would he have asked me about
doing it the other day?

So needless to say, I had to go back in to the T-Mobile store. I went
with the LG K20 Plus, like I had tried once before. I only went with
that 1 again, because I didn't have to put anything down, and everything
else was so high, anyway.

I called T-mobile again, once I got home. They kept asking me if I could
get hold of the original owner of the phone. I think I told them 3 times
at least, that I didn't know who the original owner was.

So supposedly, this is being looked in to, and I should here back from
T-Mobile by Friday, at the latest. Yes, lets just see what really
happens there. Insane!

Thank you to all who may have read this. I do appreciate it.

Questions regarding Blindfold games

2017-11-01 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I like to play some games on my phone, from time to time. Such as
Farkle, from Dice World. And I used to play Word Association 2.

However, I decided to install the blindfold app the other day.

But what I don't get is, if you install the app, then if you want to
play a certain game, you have to install this.

Why is that?

And is it like this with every game?

Also, there is a phrase game I have been attempting to play. I can't
think of the exact name of it at the moment. But I am hoping some of you
will know what I am talking about.

Anyway, if 1 phrase is, Cuddly as a, kitten. How do you know, or find
out which 1 is kitten?

Every time I think I understand it and I am doing well, I'm not!

Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Questions regarding Apps for the blind

2017-11-07 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I apologize, as I didn't know how else to write that subject.

Anyway, what is the differences of Bespecular, and Eyes Free?

How can they help in the same ways, but differently as well?

Now I have a question about another App. But I am hoping you will all
know what I mean.

What is Seeing IA?

How does it work?

How is it different from Bespecular, and Be My Eyes?

Also, because of my current iPhone situation, can I use all these Apps
over my WIFI?

Any help will be great!

Thank you,

Terri

How can I get better at using my camera

2017-11-07 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello once more everyone,

Well the subject pretty much says it all.

How in the world can I get this camera to work better for me?

Is there a different camera I can install, that is more compatible, and
easier to use?

I just don't understand how totally blind individuals can seem to use
the camera. I have tried several times.

But when I use Tap-Tap-see, all I am told is that my photo is dark.

Is there an app out there that possibly help me focus on things, better?

Thank you for any help or suggestions I might get.

Confused, regarding Blindfold games

2017-11-09 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I just installed Blindfold games a couple of weeks ago. I tried 1 game,
and couldn't figure it out.

Anyway, am I understanding that the Blindfold games are going away?

Or will they just no longer be updatable, or no new games added?

Thank you. I just want to have the story straight.

But every time I share it, and send the email, it doesn't come through

Does AIRA still exist?

Is it something that can be used with the iPhone?

If so, how much does it cost, and where would I find the supported glasses?

Lift and Uber questions

2017-12-02 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I have the Lift App on my phone. But I've never used it. From the looks
of it, the App seems pretty accessible.

I have a friend who uses Uber, and he says it's accessible.

Is 1 App more accessible than the other?

Also, are there much differences in the prices of trips?

And how do you put in information when you make a trip with either App?

For instance, if you may need some guidance to the building.

Also, does either App do a round-trip sort of deal?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Accessible aliptical devices

2017-12-02 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I've seen questions on here. But honestly, I never really read the threads.

But I was wondering, how do I go about finding an aliptical device?

I want it to work with my iPhone, helping me keep track of how many
calories I may burn, or whatever else it could possibly do.

I need a device though that is kind of on the smaller side, because I
live in an apartment.

Does anyone know if such a device exists, and how I would go about
finding it?

Thank you,

Finding a number if it's been deleted

2017-10-28 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I can't remember if I asked this or not. So if I have, I do apologize.

I was wondering, if I deleted some texts, from a number that wasn't
saved in my phone, is there a way to possibly find the number?

I remember the area code, and I believe the first 3 digits of the
number. But nothing more than that.

So is anything like this possible?

I sure hope so, as I didn't mean to delete the number, or the texts.

Thank you,

Questions regarding Amazon Video, for a friend

2017-10-21 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I’ve not tried this program yet. Been meaning to do so. Just hadn’t
gotten around to it.
However, I have a totally blind friend, who has been using it for some
time, now. He has a 6S, with I believe the latest update. As well as
latest app
update.

He told me today that he used to be able to see everything in his
library. But that now this isn’t the case.
He said that where he thinks he should see his library, I think he said
this was toward the right side of his screen, it states screen curtain
on, and
won’t show the library.
He says that if he does a search for something he’s purchased, it then
will show it.

Does anyone else use this App?
Is anyone else having any sort of problems, especially when it comes to
seeing their Amazon video, library?
Can anyone offer me some thoughts, or suggestions?

Thank you,

Terri

Re: for all T-mobile users

2017-10-29 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello Andy, and others,

How do you get this App to work for you?

I want to review my last bill, and try to look at the details of it. But
I can't figure out for the life of me, how to do this.

My bill is on auto-pay, as it makes it a little cheaper.

But this App just seems odd to me. I can get in the menu, and I can make
some choices. But I can't seem to do what I'd like to do.

Thank you,

Terri

Finding a wireless printer for my iPhone

2017-10-31 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello all,

I would like to purchase a wireless printer to use with my iPhone SE.

Can anyone please give me some ideas as to what is out there?

Also it would need to be able to work with windows 7. Of course, the
more easier it is to work, or more accessible it is, the better.

Also, I am not looking for something too high in price. I won't use it a
lot. I just feel it may be a good investment.

Thank you,

Terri
