I am considering using Filemaker Go on it but am not sure how to go about
installing it. I see on the Filemaker website it can be purchased for around
$40.

It's very easy to transfer the files via the iTunes interface using the USB
sync cable. You simply connect the device, go to the Apps tab, scroll to the
bottom where File Sharing apps are listed and make the transfer(s).
The files listed are of course those on the device (iPad, iPhone

I had a feeling that would be the answer but aware that so often there seems to
be a work around thought it worth a try. It won't stop me continuing to enjoy

Not really an easy way to see what memory is used or free.
But generally, the easiest way to fix it is to turn the iPad off (Hold down
the power button til the Slide to Power Off comes up.
Then side to power it off, wait a few seconds and then power it back on
again.

no penalty at all for having an app in the background. The Apple engineers, as
often they are, were very clever when they introduced background apps to iOS.
They in fact created a new paradigm to ensure that while an app
do wonder, however, how HandyPadSoft can get away with
copying the Apple icon for Activity Monitor.

I like to think my iPad is enjoying France but not sure it knows how to send a

Not quite sure what you are doing or what stage you're at. Updates and Syncing
processes are done from the devices themselves (mainly iTunes) - no need to go
to App Store for this. I assume you have now updated iTunes to vers 10.2.2 as
a precursor to plugging in your iPad. I also
Success! I think the problem was with iTunes 2.2, which I had downloaded as
per instructions. I retrieved iTunes 2.1 from my storage disk, and the sync is
now happening properly.
