I went into DX4WIN and changed the N to Y in the Label Cnfm box for the cards in question. Now, the problem is to print labels for just the cards I entered today. I don't think I can use Selection to create a group of these cards because the log has about 55,000 entries and the dates on the cards range from1997 into 2021. First make sure you checked the correct checkboxes for confirming a QSO with a QSL card. There is no such thing as a Label Cnfm box - there are two separate checkboxes: the one called Label is used to mark the QSO in order to send out a paper QSL card to the station worked, while the other one, called Cnfm is used to mark a QSO for having received a paper QSL card. I apologize if I'm stating the obvious, but the reason I mention this is due to this: I don't want to erase existing "Y" Cnfm for the 29,000+ QSOs that have it. Anyone having suggestions on how to print labels would be welcomed! Presumably, you have 29 thousand QSLs i.e. confirmed QSOs and if so, they have nothing to do with needing to print QSL labels that are selected by checking the Label box. Don't mess with them or you may wipe out your confirmation statistics and re-confirming 29 thousand entries manually is not something you'd want to attempt. If you filter by the Label=Y, the Report:Loogbook window will display only the QSOs marked for label printing. When I want to print only a select few of the labels marked for printing, I usually set each QSO with Set QSL Date to today's date one at a time. When you now filter for Label=Y and QSL Date=01-27-2023, the Report:Loogbook window should display only those QSOs you want to print labels for. Go to QSL and select Print QSL Labels. When done, don't forget to clear Label flags and you're all set. 73, Zoran WA7AA __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] FW: Can we add Q65? Other suggestions...
Hi, Dave. The problem with some of your requests is that, if implemented, they would run contrary to what the vast majority of users want or need. Most of us leave all updates checked because even if we don't need them all, they have no detrimental or noticeable effect on our logger use. Needless to say, we don't want to have to manually check nine boxes every time for no reason. Next up, If DX4Win opened in the Add Real Time mode (F9) but the radio was off, it would go into a radio time-out routine which is tedious to deal with (wait for timeout, click OK, disable the radio, then remember to enable the radio when it's on, etc.). No one wants this. As for the log entry window size (F5), it should come up with the same size every time you open the program. If it doesn't, something's wrong. 73, Zoran WA7AA __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

When you go to Download Report in the LOTW, the date in the "Show QSLs received since:" auto-fills with the date of your last LOTW report download. In theory, all the LOTW QSLs before that date should already be confirmed in your log, and all the QSLs after that date should be new confirmations. In practice, however, somehow that doesn't work 100% and there is a slight overlap. I don't know why. It could be due to the differences between Universal Time, ARRL time, and your local time zone, but I'm guessing. I usually backdate the default date by a week and that works out fine. When I asked John K9EL, the contest manager, why I was dinged for a wrong entry for Z29 here was his reply: I also use DX4Win and if I enter VK5DOC, it says Zone 30. I have never heard that any VK5 stations can be in Zone 29. I have been doing this contest since 2008. John may very well be right but why would my version of DX4WIN show Z29 and his show Z30? I only have one entry for VK5DOC on 07/03/2021. In my log for Z29 I have many VK6, VK8, and VK9 stations but only one VK5, the VK5DOC shows as Z29. Entering VK5DOC over here correctly assumes zone 30. If your log has him as 29, it's possible that you created an exception in the database by overriding 30 with 29. He may have given you a wrong number - he wouldn't be the first one. The other possibility is that he incorrectly set up his TQSL station information with a wrong zone and you overrode the default zone in the log by accepting the LOTW value. I don't have an XML subscription and yes, the F3 feature works in my setup. There's always a catch, though, and in this case by "works" it means supplies and populates the basic contact info like the operator name, address, state, and IOTA. Sorry to say that if you want additional details like a county, grid, or anything else, you probably need an XML subscription (disclaimer - -that's my guess since I don't have it). 73, Zoran WA7AA Actually, I think you have to pay and have an XML account (the minimum account) for this feature to work? Yes, you can do lookups by going to the website and searchingor my doing the Alt F3 technique (which does NOT pop up a populated window with the info...rather just takes you to the QRZ website), but to use the F3 technique and have the window pop up with the info in the DX4WIN program, I'm pretty sure you have to be a paid XML account user. Perhaps someone who is NOT a paid XML account member can try it and chime in yes or no. Of course, for the F3 to work properly, you also have to configure it correctly in Preferences. I'm 90+% sure you have to be an XML paid subscriber on QRZ to fully use the F3 popup window.because "back in the day", when I couldn't get mine to work and the popup window was blankI posted on here and asked and was told by DX4WIN folks that was my issue. This may throw off counts for the country or entity of the QSO. 3) If your logged call is wrong, I change the call to what it should have been and include a "Note for this QSO" indicating what I originally copied the call as. It is not clear from your message where exactly the problem is, but here are a few thoughts: - First you can verify that when you check the "LOTW confirmed" box for a QSO and export to ADIF, an entry Y appears in that particular QSO in the exported ADIF file. That is more than likely the case unless something got seriously corrupted in your DX4Win export/import filters. - Next, you have to make sure you are actually uploading a correct file to ClubLog and by that I mean uploading your ***entire*** log and not just unflagged incremental files. If you are using the "Export to LOTW" for creating the ADIF files, this will create a file of only the QSOs that had not been uploaded before. Re: [Dx4win] problem
I have a similar problem to yours and here are the limited results of my troubleshooting, for what it's worth: A few years ago, out of the blue and after years of using the same station setup, I began having radio time-outs while using DX4Win. I eventually traced the problem and was able to consistently reproduce it by playing any video heavy content in my web browser (Firefox). Browsing normal page content that does not require heavy use of the video card does not cause time-outs. I can't pinpoint the date when this started happening, so I have no idea whether it was caused by video card driver updates, automatic Windows resources change, DX4Win version change or whatever else. However, a similar thing occurs while using N1MM+ with a slight but important difference: in this case, I get error messages on the N1MM+ status bar saying "Radio sent invalid CAT data", but there is no radio comms loss, i.e. it still reads frequencies and talks to my radio. I don't know if this applies to your scenario. I simply got used to living with this and I make sure I don't watch video content while leaving DX4Win in the Real Time Entry mode. I suspect something somewhere in the Windows video settings interferes with the COM port setup, but I can't be bothered to go deep diving in there. I attempted to change DX4Win radio polling to make it the same as N1MM+ without success. I hope this helps before you go crazy reinstalling all kinds of software. 73, Zoran WA7AA thanks Larry, yes, that is the way I always start up in the morning computer on first... loads up and running, then I turn on the radio and out board items, then open either DX4WIN or Writelog shut down the opposite nite time. When I get a time out event, if I close DX4WIN and re-open all works for a while but eventually it times out. Wierd part is Writelog, microHam router, radio/amp and computer no problem. Thinking about doing a re-install of DX4WIN 9.0.9 but I always get extremely nervous when messing around with software usually a cussing fit going to happen somewhere then the wifie tells me I should have known better! hopefully this thing will self correct but who am I kidding? lol, 73's Cort K4WI LARRY MALLEK <mailto:lmal...@roadrunner.com> Thursday, November 12, 2020 11:40 AM *CORT: MY SYSTEM DOES THE SAME THING IF I DO NOT HAVE THE RADIO ON BEFORE TURNING DX4WIN ON. [Dx4win] LOTW
Hello, everyone. It seems that ARRL has released a TQSL version 2.5.2 that now involves logging programs including additional information in the ADIF file (or overriding the check somewhere in the TQSL program). I haven't tried either upgrading to that version or uploading a log with it, but just be aware that the usual LOTW upload may not work anymore if you do. Here's the link to the bulletin: http://www.arrl.org/news/new-tqsl-version-2-5-2-provides-better-lotw-rover-support-other-improvements It looks like it's supposed to solve an issue with "roving" stations, which I guess solves a problem for the 0.01 % of QSO out there, but the way I read it, it transfers the burden of verifying the uploaded location data (DXCC, State, Grid, Zone) to the logging program that supplies it. If that's the case, it solves nothing, because the data is only as accurate as the user supplying it, which essentially changes nothing as far as the location accuracy of LOTW contacts is concerned. At least that's my interpretation, I don't know what "Once a logging program supplies these (MY_STATE, MY_DXCC, MY_CQ_ZONE, etc.), then /TQSL/ will validate them against the log" means, unless it will require these for every single QSO entry in the ADIF file. If that's the case, I don't think DX4Win is able to supply that without a major upgrade. However, it adds an interesting twist on the constant demands for automatic LOTW upload/download around here. Stay safe & 73, Zoran WA7AA __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Fwd: DX QSL not counted
If you remove the start date for an award, then all QSOs will count for it, regardless of the QSO date. This will make a QSO in DX4Win "valid" and it should be reflected in all reports, totals, flags, etc. If that's not what you are looking for, then I am probably not quite understanding your original post correctly. 73, WA7AA That sounds more like a work-around rather than a fix. The current problem is just an incorrect needed list for 160M and your suggestion would probably fix that. But then my CW DXCC totals would be incorrect in the summary? The problem was in a file with prefixes in save directory but I don't remember if wpxdeltd.txt was the problem or another file. I deleted it and I did not update it again as I can not understand why it is useful. This file is supposed to list prefixes that have been deleted, i.e. are not currently valid for the WPX honor roll, according to WPX rules: "Prefixes will be deleted from the Honor Roll listing ten years after they are no longer authorized for use by the governing authority or by the ITU". I suppose since all AC9 and AC0 callsign licenses expired at some point and no new calls were issued, they met the 10 year rule and found themselves in this file (among other prefixes). This effectively means that if we wanted the WPX record in DX4Win to be accurate (per honor roll rules), the wpxdeltd.txt would have to be updated on a continuous basis. I've looked around in the CQ Mag website, but I can't find anything resembling the list of invalid prefixes, so I simply deleted all entries in this file and kept it blank, rendering all worked/confirmed prefixes valid. An example of an error message from the SC QSO Party: Import aborted because of duplicate QSOCall=W4CAE Date=24/02/1810 QSO's were readNo simple errors processedNo zone exceptionsNo country exceptionsOne duplicate QSO was ignoredNo exception records were addedNo errors found W4CAE was the first station I worked in the SC QSO Party that was operating on more than one county line. I think the problem may be that DX4Win assumes that if you're importing a QSO with the same callsign on the same band at the same time, it is a duplicate and proceeds to ignore the second one. Since N1MM+ time stamps seconds for QSOs, maybe adjusting the "Time window to match QSO in secs (my logs)" down from 60 (default) to 1 or 2 will do the trick. [Dx4win] Minor v9 bug report
Hi, Paul et al. I just uploaded an LotW file for the first time since the new version and first of all, thank you for fixing the Russian-oblast-messing-up-zone problem. A minor bug is in the way that Import discrepancies are being reported. In the past, when there was a discrepancy between the QSO data as determined by DX4Win (or operator) and the data being reported by LotW, the Import note in the Notes For This QSO would state the LotW value. This is still the case for everything except for the zone value. For example, before v9, the import note would read something like this for, let's say HA1ABC: Import: {Zone 28} Obviously this would be incorrect due to the erroneous zone selection upload by HA1ABC, which is the case with well over 90% of the LotW discrepancies. In v9, however, this import tag reads: Import {zone 15}, which although correct, doesn't match the LotW reported value. The other discrepancies, i.e. IOTA, State, Grid are reporting the LotW entry. Again, this doesn't impact the integrity of the QSO zone entries, it is simply a misleading visual tag. I hope I am making sense. Thanks again & 73, Zoran WA7AA __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

This is what it should look like: Any line that contains VE100VIMY has to be edited to VE100VIMY/XXX where XXX has to obviously be the suffix of the worked station, i.e. VE1, VY0, etc. Once there's a match in the LoTW, you'll then have to check the LoTW Cnfm box for the relevant QSO in the log manually. All this goes for any other callsign longer than 12 characters. [Dx4win] Bug report
Hi, Paul et al. A minor bug report: Some prefixes worked in my log show status in the WPX window as deleted and have a blank entry in that window. An example of such prefixes is AJ7 and AC0. No matter how many QSOs with such callsigns one has, the WPX window is blank and they don't count towards the WPX total. I have a feeling there are many more such prefixes embedded somewhere in the program and they really shouldn't be. Can we make them all undeleted? You say you set the F2 in preferences to Mark for printing a label. Open the DX4Win.ini with a text editor and check to see that the flag called F_F2_Label is set to 1 and not 0. You can also go to QSLs - Set QSL Label Flag and see if this makes any difference (i.e. change Label to Y). [Dx4win] LotW import problem
Hi, Paul and the group. I just noticed an unusual problem while importing LotW QSOs into the log. When a Russian station has its Oblast set in the LotW QSO details that matches an abbreviation of a US state, the state flag for that particular QSO in DX4Win gets changed from blank to the state matching the abbreviation and, in addition, the zone of the station changes to the zone matching the state. For example: RX3APM lists its Oblast as Moscow (abbreviation MA). DX4Win imports this QSO ADIF field as State (see below), then promptly updates the QSO with the Massachusetts entry in the state field and changes the zone from 16 to 5. This seems to happen for all Oblast abbreviations that correspond to the US state abbreviations, like MO for Moscow Region, OR for Orel, MA for Moscow, etc. When the abbreviation for an Oblast does not match any US states (such as PK for Primorsk), it is ignored and no change is made to the QSO. Furthermore, this occurs when the Include QSL detail box is checked before downloading the report. The DX4Win Import setting of Show QSO information and ask does not apply here because it seems to check only for prefix and zone differences. Is anyone aware of this problem or is there something I'm missing in the import procedure? My version is 8.05 and I use LotW - Import from LotW to import, not Import/Export option. Before you say it, yes, I am aware that importing just basic ADIF data from LotW (i.e. no station details like Oblast, Grid, IOTA, etc) would not cause that problem, but that is not a solution. Please let me know if this is on a radar and what the fix would be. All the IOTA group numbers are in the country file, and have been since the earliest days of DX4WIN. Version 8 added the ability to use the fulllist.xml file to allow users to populate the new Island Name field in the QSO window for each IOTA. The island name is a requirement for submitting QSOs for the IOTA award. Thanks, Jim. That explains it. Re: [Dx4win] Clearing LoTW Upload Dates
On 06.03.2010 19:50, Steve Thompson got his imagination into overdrive: During my upgrade from version 4.x to the new 8.x, somehow a lot of QSOs have an LoTW Upload Date of Dec 9 1933. I've never used LoTW, and of course a date in 1933 makes no sense, so I don't know why some random QSOs in my log show this date in that field. I've dug around looking for a way to clear it, and haven't been able to do so. Under the LoTW menu, there is a menu selection called Clear LoTW Upload Date, but when I click that menu selection, it says No QSOs were changed, and later, as go through QSOs, I find more 1933 date values. Do a Search for the date in the LoTW field, then when all the QSOs with that parameter are listed, perform the Clear LoWT Upload Date. That should work. 73 ... Re: [Dx4win] Changing Screen Fonts
On 27.02.2010 13:56, Steve Thompson got his imagination into overdrive: Hi - another (hopefully) quick question from a newb who can't find the answer in the manual or on a web search. I want to change the Screen Fonts in the Setup Parameters (screen tab). The manual says I should be able to double-click on the font names and then be able to change them, however that does not work - I am unable to change the heading, input and listbox fonts. What is preventing them from being changed? How can I get in and change them? Thanks. -Steve N7TX __ You have to be either an advanced or expert user (changed in the Personal tab). 73 .. On 24.02.2010 19:22, Don got sick and threw up all over the keyboard: I am trying to install DX4W702 on a new laptop with windows 7. I keep getting the message to copy the driver vichw11.sys to c:/windows\system32\drivers. I installed win4702 as administrator in the c:\dx4w702 directory. I still cannot get it going.
