Can I just point out it , i Janet ,Lin has been doing the Bookmark exchange
, My self and Sallie did the Christmas Card Exchange , Last year was the It
was Sallie who was ill not me and Lin did not finish of the Christmas Card
exchange , I did it all on my own. For the sake of an email
Thank you Liz! I keep hoping that our three very capable volunteers will look
at the big picture, bury the hatchet & work as a team for the good of the
whole. Many hands make light work & there is plenty of work for all three to
organize an exchange of this size. Whatever happened to
REALLY?!
All this infighting regarding the exchange makes me feel like I'm listening to
a bunch of high schoolers arguing over who gets to be head cheerleader. There
is no cheer in it - Christmas or otherwise. In most groups, it's difficult to
get anyone to volunteer to do anything and now
Postman brought me my card and beautiful, dainty snowflake mounted on red to
show it off, from Mina in Slovenia.

I love Brigitte Bellon's christmas lace books, like Allerlei Geklöppelter
Christbaum-schmuck, Geklöppelter Weihnachtsschmuck, or Neue Weihnachts-
Klöppelmuster. As you might guess, the instructions are in German, but
I find the detailed pictures, patterns and a bit of Googling sufficient
to work
Another solution is to go to look at past submissions which have been kept
for members of Arachne. The leaders of the exchanges have urged
participants to identify the original sources (designers), and they have (in
recent
years) also asked for prickings or instructions to put on the site
Christine Springett also has a book called Lace for children of all ages which
has lots of Christmas patterns as well as others. Each pattern also comes
with step by step instructions - brilliant for a beginner.

Today, I received my card from Jenny. It is really beautiful. Jenny, I am

Just before I went away the postman brought my Arachne card exchange from
Alessandra Tolin, Santa Maria La Longa, Italy.
It is a beautifully made Hardanger angel, white and gold, on a deep turquoise
blue paper. Alessandra added a gold ricrac border. I really appreciate it as
I did try to do
I also received my card this week, a rather cute angel which is now hanging
on my little tree. It never ceases to amaze me how different lace will be
when exchanged around the world. Many thanks from Barbara Saltern my swap
partner and for the ladies who organised it again this year.
