Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Bailey, There's a guy on this list (Eric A.) that had a hole (about 3/4" in dia) in his front bumper repaired when he bought his '97 540i. They filled the hole with melted plastic, sanded it down and blended it in. The repair is still there today 100K miles later and you'd never know that it was there. I'll bet it would work well on a crack too. I don't know if I'd want to try this as a DIY method, but it worked very well in his case. I had one problem that I thought I'd check on with the group. The back most screw holding the cover on, by the wiring harness rail) slipped out of my fingers as I was trying to get it into place. (tight fit. It fell into the engine...unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have fallen through. any BTDT with ideas of where to look or how to get it loose. I'll try lurching the car when I pull it out to wash it later today. Other than that, the job was fairly straightforward with a couple little tricks. amazing how dry and brittle the cover gets.
