Presently have the stock 14" basket weave wheels with Yoko AVSES100 in 205/60 fittiment. Would like to upgrade to 15" wheels in the future. I am thinking about either: H&R Cup Kit shocks and springs which lower the car 2.1F & 1.7R or Koni Sport shocks with either Eibach Pro springs (1.6F & 1.4R) or H&R Sport springs (1.3F&R) Also going with H&R Anti-roll bar kit (27mm F & 18mm R) Any advice or pros and cons with either set up or the H&R Anti-roll bar kit. With the extreme lowering of the H&R Cup Kit will I have any rubbing problems? Car is my daily driver and about 6 - 10 track days per year. I am an instructor with both BMWCCA and PCA at Sebring, Moroso, and Road Atlanta. Yeah too big. Unless the numbers you posted are incorrect a 27mm front sway bar is HUGE, and coupled with an 18mm rear bar that is too small. I'd go with either Suspension Techniques or Racing Dynamics sway bars (22mm front, 19mm rear). I'd go with the Eibach Prokits and Bilsteins, and stick a fixed camber plate up front (Dinan or Turner). That won't kill your street tires either. Personally I would skip all that and go straight to a Ground Control coilover setup, if you keep the spring rates reasonable you can still daily drive the car and it'll be world's better than any of those off the shelf sport spring setups (H&R, Eibach, or whatever). Just one opinion, Carlos 93 325is 88 325is __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I have the H&R coilover kit, but Ground Control is probably a little cheaper. I went from an H&R Sport Spring/Bilstein Sport set up to the H&R coil-over. Spring rates changed from 180 F, 300 R, to 350 F, 445 R, but my ride IMPROVED. My wife even commented. I set the the ride height in front at about 1.3" lower than stock, about 1" lower in the rear. I also have the BMW crash plates so, I'm running -2 degrees of camber everywhere. The car would probably be too soft for autocrossing, but it hooks up beautifully on track. Send me a private email if you would like me to send you a couple pictures of my car running through corners at Thunderhill. Lines out of the bottom to the rack tend to leak. Can be fixed by new hose clamps or possibly hoses. ($200) 2) Look into the radiator and see if they're replaced it. they tend to go every 5-6 yrs or 100k, depending. Damn plastic necks on filler bottles. ($300) 3) Clutch check. with car in idle, put car in third and slowly let out the clutch pedal. The car should stall, if not, there's some slippage. ($500) 4) check belts on inside to see if there are lots of little cracks running perpendicular to belt length. Indication they need replacing (belts cost $30, about 1.5 hr of fiddling to replace first time, <1/2 hr thereafter) 5) listen for squeaking in the pulleys at the front of the block that might indicate that they're getting tired. 6) Douple check the belt tension (good push and tug) to make sure the tensioner isn't tired. Not sure if the tensioner is hydraulic or mechanical. The hydraulic ones can fail quiclky, while mechanical ones get tired. (Tensioner about $250 incl labor) 7) Sanity check intervals on fluid and plug changes including: Oil 5-10k (esp with synthetic) tranny/diff ~30k plugs 30k coolant every 2 yrs (unless the radiator/water pump blows in the meantime). he can cehck the quality of the air filter and see whether it seems to be getting changed often enough. No major electrical gremlins I can think of...Dash lights, brake light connections can be a bit flakey, but many are easy to fix (headlight switches and lights behind climate control. Window regulators can fail. ($250?) I had 3 in my 325 go (11 year old car). Bag Carfax. go to autocheck.com. much better than carfax, which is a waste of time IMO Any word from Bill Shook on your car? Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Howdy, Anyone know what the stock spring rates were for a '93 325is? Winter is coming, so I'm going to be raising and softening up the car. Currently I'm at 450 in-lb front / 500 in-lb rear. Springs I have include 300, 325, and 350 front along with 400 rear... Just curious how those all stacked up to stock springs for an e36, M or non-M. Most salesmen are regarded as trash by dealer parts and service personnel. Remembering that service personnel's pay check's are influenced by customer satisfaction, and new car service customers are rarely satisfied due to the lies laid on them by their salesman, who was only interested in the sale, not the after sales service. There's some commonality between Bentley and Haynes figures so it may not be too far away. Nick ------------------------------ End of [bmwuucdigest] digest(15 messages) **********
