You show a grave, and no doubt, deliberate, misinterpretation of the
role the comptrollers committee. I pity the board for having to deal
with you for so long. I also wonder why the other comptrollers did not
put a stop to it. When we were comptrollers together, you barely said
two words for the entire year.

IT IS NOT the comptrollers job to second guess, criticize, and
interfere with the board's plans, unless they are against the amuta's
charter, which they never were! Within the charter, the board can do
whatever it wants. IT IS NOT YOUR POSITION TO CRITICIZE IT. I wish
you'd understand it.

I wonder if we can a design a mechanism to kick out a comptroller that
grossly oversteps his bounds, as Adir does every so often. It needs to
be suitably temper resistant so that a well meaning and honest
comptroller need not worry about doing his proper job. Probably not
worth the potential danger... we should just elect better people in
the future.
