Hello it’s Peter here.

Welcome to Friday’s Levy Letter. I hope your day has started well and you’re
all looking forward to another weekend. of course we’ll have Look North for you
tonight at 6:30 BBC1. We’ll have a special report on the amazing story of a
Lincolnshire man who was trapped in a dyke for 11 hours, we’ll be talking to
him about his survival. Grimsby is set to become the hot location for movie
makers and would you believe it Keira Knightley is set to descend on the docks,
we’ll bring you the full update on Look North this evening. I’ll meet the
Scunthorpe school boy who is set to join the Queen at her birthday bash this
weekend. And last but not least, we’ll be talking to the people of Wetwang and
gauge their thought on the inauguration of Paul Hudson as their mayor. And the
little man will be around to give you the low down on the weekend weather.

Evita

Thirty years after it first opened to the day in the West End, there is another
version of the musical Evita, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
Amazing it’s been thirty years since they wrote, what for many remains their
best score. When the musical first opened they picked the relatively unknown
singer Elaine Paige, she now is a huge star. At the opening night she was there
in the stalls to watch one Elena Roger, who is actually from Argentina, to play
the lead role. Apparently the musical is superb, according to the reviews. So
if you’re in London and fancy a trip to the theatre, Evita is on again in the
West End.

RSI

Noel Edmonds apparently has got repetitive strain injury of the wrist as a
result of picking up the phone too often in the course of his show. He picks up
the phone to answer it on ‘Deal or No Deal’, no he’s suffering from RSI. He
says, “The phone is pretty heavy and I have to pick it up a dozen times a show,
we shoot three shows a day and it’s got so painful that I could hardly the
thing up”. He’s been diagnosed with RSI after a check up with Bristol based
consultant. Noel Edmonds who always manages to lurk from one PR story to
another.

Smile

Today is the day we should be smiling, it’s officially the happiest day of the
year, researchers claim. A combination of outdoor activity and nice weather,
planned holidays make June the 23rd the most cheerful date on the calendar. The
formula has been created my psychologists at Cardiff University who said happy
childhood memories plus social interaction also help raise a smile. Today is
the happiest day and it’s all down hill from here.

Morning Sickness

Men are laying claim to a condition thought to belong to the opposite sex,
that’s morning sickness. A department of health guide to pregnancy advises
fathers to be that they could suffer from the nausea while their partner is
pregnant. The stress of impending parenthood could cause sleeplessness and
indigestion and even course a man’s stomach to swell. Some have even
experienced labour pains when their baby is on the way, the 2006 pregnancy book
says, believe it or not men can get symptoms of pregnancy as well. There we
are, men are coming out in sympathy with the women.

Bargains

There’s nothing we enjoy more than getting a real good bargain when we’re out
shopping and it seems that women get the biggest bargains of the lot. They
often can’t resist a bargain even if it ends up costing them more. Nearly two
thirds of women admitted that they splash out on special offers for goods that
they don’t really need. We’ve all done that, I don’t think it’s just a women
thing… I’ve done it…you see the sign and you go and buy something that you
didn’t necessarily want. There’s a survey of nearly 3000 shoppers that show
women often end up spending far more than they originally intended. And what
gives us the greatest buzz, or women the greatest buzz, well cheap high street
versions of designer items. Apparently this gives them most satisfaction. The
survey discusses women who spend over £100 a week in the sales, can you believe
that?

Levy Letter

If there’s someone you’re talking to this weekend who isn’t getting the Levy
Letter but would like it then point them in the direction of one of the two

Letter and follow the instructions through and they’ll get their first letter
from Monday. Don’t forget, if you’ve got a problem or an issue that you think
we might be able to deal with or tackle on the programme then give me the
details and also a contact number. You can write to me, Peter Levy, Queens
Court, Queens Gardens, Hull, HU13RH or email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Healthy Eating

As you know it’s been nearly six months now that I’ve been doing the Gillian Mc
Keith regime. I see from the paper today that spinach, which Popeye used to eat
to bulk up, may also hold the key to keeping you slim. Scientists have found
that a compound in the leaves that the cartoon hero used to build his muscles
could fool our bodies into thinking that we’re full. It slows down the
digestion of fat, tricking our half empty stomachs that they’ve eaten enough.
So there we are, spinach could stop dieters from experiencing hunger pangs and
might help combat obesity. Spinach is one of those foods that not everybody
particularly enjoys, also you buy a big bag and then it shrinks down into
nothing!

Well that’s it from me today, have a very good day. Join me tonight for the
programme. Have a good weekend, speak to you again on Monday.

Peter
