     It may be expecting too much of such an old modem, but, perhaps 
the product ID information would hold data on the modem's 
manufacture date or at least for its processor. My USR Sportster 
14.4k provides supervisor and DSP dates on ATI7. Maybe Jerry could go 
through the several options under ATI to see what his Zoom modem will 
tell him.
