if you extract directX on your hard drive, any temperary directory, go to
the directory you've extracted it. You need to run the setup program first
to install directX. I can't remember if it is called dxsetup or setup.
Also you spesificly need .net 1.1 framework installed. It is different from
ask djc damon, I think he does.

soundPorts this is the one you are looking for I think,

when I turn on my computer in the morn..it gets an IP address of
192.168.1.100
when I turn on my second computer downstairs..it gets an address of
192.168.1.101
I called Verizon DSL support and they tell me I have no control over my IP
address...duh..kind of knew that already!
the tech guy..from india..tells me my IP can change as often as every 5
minutes..sigh.

You cannot have both a static and a dynamic ip address on the same isp
connection. It sounds like maybe you are talking about a public ip and a
private ip which you can have. A private ip can start with 192.168,
10.0, 172.
Now I'm speaking backwards. A dynamic ip address has no guarantee of
staying the same is what I meant to say. In short, Dynamic ips are not
guaranteed, and static ips are guaranteed to remain the same.

Dynamic is like perminant, but on my verizon it isn't it changes about every
week. Static always changes (every hour).
