I've found myself elected as the "tape backup-er" for three different

you can use the log file to help you locate the file on tape,
extract the file to disk using dd, and then manually process

I can create another thread for that however, it may be something to do with

are mulipul DLE in the work area so the taper algorithms have more
choices there are paramters for that as well.

For vtapes, spanning is automatically enabled, as the VFS device supports
LEOM. You can add a part_size if you'd like to split dumps into smaller
parts; otherwise, Amanda will just fill each vtape with a single part before
moving on to the next vtape.

While Amanda can be used for your needs, it may not be
