We created a text-only guide to the K3 front panel some time ago. It
was posted on the web by another group. We've now added it to our own
site:

In related news: We're working on improvements to our K3voice PC
application, adding full
I just noticed that after a fun and uneventful (no failures) weekend of ARRL
SS CW one of my K3s has developed a strange symptom. I have done nothing
other than turn the K3 off last night and then on this morning.
Perhaps I pushed something by mistake, but I have no idea what that could

UPDATE:
I did a CPU reset (NORM / POWER ON) and the first time nothing changed. The
second time the RATE button worked once. Then no others worked, nor did the
RATE. So, I did a third RESET - and now everything is working. Before
doing the reset I saved my configuration and then reloaded
Ouch. Did you have an electrostatic event? All those buttons have one thing
in common: They are using the signal SCANADC1 which is routed to input X3 on
the HC4051 analog multiplexer chip U3 (front panel sheet 7). I hope this is

supply voltage, and current drain only - I do not have a
Larry,
With the current firmware, the VFO B alternate display shows (in order)
time, date, RIT/XIT offset, supply voltage, and supply current. The 0.00
that you are seeing is the RIT/XIT offset. Yes, the manual says it
should also show the PA temperature and the FP temperature, but at this
Gill,
It is at least from #656 because my unit was affected too.
The mod is easy done with the instructions from Elecraft.

If you have a serial no between 660 782 you need to do the mod for
grounding the front panel mike connector.

Hi all--
I've been having a terrific time getting to know #859. My antenna party
is tomorrow and I'll be on the air in a couple of days.
Last night while reading the mail, the front panel began flashing. The
LCD display lamp turned off, the LEDs flickered and turned off and I
lost control of
Everyone.
Somewhere in the recent past on this forum someone was mentioning about a
service that engraves your callsign on the plastic piece that covers the K3 LCD
display. I cannot find it.
can anyone enlighten me as to his whereabouts.
Thanks.
