Hi there,
first of all: I am totally new to E17, but after playing around with it for two
weeks, or so, I have to say, that I am positively impressed. I really like it
and decided that I want to use it.
However, I am struggling with a couple of things. My major problem are the key
bindings. E.
so
much that I would like to evaluate it further as my day-to-day DE, and
eventually switch completely to it.
Thanks again,

Hi there,
e17 is great, and as I build the latest version from trunk once a month, at
least, I can really see, how it is getting more and more stable and cleaner
all the time. My guess is, that with the speed of progress I saw since I
started to use e17 in May, 2011, a 1.0 release could be avai

Hi there,
here it goes on... ;)
Up to now I used to start e without KDE services, which is the default. But as
my preferred KMail depends on Akonadi, now, (one of the reasons why I look at
other DEs and WMs, currently, with e in the pole, now), I thought I click that
check box on.

Hi there,
when I point on an application icon in the Ibar in the bottom shelf, it is
animated. As far as I understand, the animation is defined within each icon.
This raises the question: How can it be stopped?
Initially I liked the effect and was quite impressed, but now I find it a bit
too m

Hi everyone,
I'd like to come back to a question I asked in previous post, but up to now I
haven't found a solution.
In the applications menu, the names of application categories are not
translated. E. g., there's a category "Office", which is translated to
"Büroprogramme" in KDE and "Büro" in
Hi everyone,
I use e17 with Engage (GREAT!) and I use Everything as starter. Now, when
maximise an application window, the taskbar and launcer of Engage are still
accessible, as they "overlay" the application window. But Everything behind
the window.
Is there a way to put Everything always to

Hi everyone,
I guess I found a bug in EFM of build 64824. When I first click on the Home
icon or on a drive icon on the desktop, EFM starts and displays the content
correctly. However, the icons representing the "breadcrumbs" of the navigation
path between "<" and ">" are shifted up by about ha

Hi everyone,
now, how would I have to modify the default theme in order to stop window
title-bar animation?
I am not shy of editing a config file, but in this case I am not yet able to
find
the relevant piece of code...
Well, I just dared to take a look into the default theme definition. I s

Hi there,
according to my-favourite-search-engine it hasn't been asked before, but in
case,it has, please point me to the relevant info.
I have a couple of questions regarding file properties, especially
creation/modification dates.
1. Is there a view, that allows to see file properties not ju

Hi there,
I am pretty sure that there was a discussion about this topic before, and I
think it was
here, but using I was unable to find it, up to
now. So,
I'd be grateful, if anyone could provide a link to the relevant thread!
My question: Do I understand it correctly, that I cannot use the
Thanks for the clarification, Barton.
AFAIK, the trash bin of Xfce and KDE complies to Freedesktop standards, that's
why it
works with both Xfce and KDE, I guess. Actually I'd rather see this also to be
supported in e than having to use an e specific trash bin, that would not be
