We had a similar problem. All the data was in the .dat file, but the idx
appeared to be corrupt or missing. If we added new events they would display
in the calendar, but not the older events still in .dat file. Support told
me there was not way to reconstruct the .idx file. As a result our users

Currently our ISP hosts our email services for our company's two domains. On
Friday afternoon I am going to call our ISP and have them change the DNS

How to figure out which user is crashing WebMail...
Look in the web folder under your IMail spool directory (ie /spool/web). Using a text
editor (like notepad) open any of the .tmp files in the /spool/web folder with a
timestamp that matches the time when your WebMail service hurled.
What can you do to prevent stuff like this? Also, if you make a rule, etc is
there any possibility of false positives? I'd like a rule that sends it to
the spam mailbox.

You do need to shut it off.
IMail's SMTP Security options have a number of relaying choices. Of them,
only 2 can be used safely (the rest cause you to be an open relay). The
two safe
local users will have to turn on authentication on their local email
clients.
From a best practices standpoint, if your users don't need to relay, then
turn it off.

It's the result of MIME Quoted-Printable encoding. Anything of the form
=XX is the character with ASCII code XX (in hexadecimal).
