Is anyone else finding that is takes forever to export data as a GEDCOM
file?
I have 85,000 individuals in my database and version 7 would take
between 5 and 10 minutes to create a GEDCOM file for uploading to my
website. V8 is taking nearly 2 hours to complete the same task. Nothing
has changed

developers and they are aware of it.
It seems to be an issue with Shared Events.
Unless you need the Shared events exported now, just exclude them in
the Gedcom export customizations and, even if you have none, the time

Thanks Mary, but I know where the location is - it's the program that
couldnt find it because of the abbreviations used and that was causing the
loop in the Map Family which was the initial reason for this post.
I'm gradually standardising all my location names so this doesnt happen
again.

However, I'm having a wee bit of trouble getting Legacy to recognize my
modified GeoExtraCodes.txt and GeoStateCodes.txt files. I prefer the words

There is no such place, if only because there are no commas between your areas.
Stanhope, County Durham, England certainly exists, and I suspect that Horn Hall
is a house in Stanhope village.
