Long time Family tree user and switched to Legacy 9 last year and really like
it better than Family tree.I do struggle with searching census records with

print the list in the order of largest place to the smallest
The list I did manage to print was useless, because it sorted in the order of
the number of blank spaces with commas, and it printed everything, with no
selection.

I don't merge or delete in my main database precisely because I want to keep
RINs in sync across different programs.
And because Legacy can't export by range or RINs, I don't use it as my
program of primary entry, and I use a program that can export by range of
RINs for that purpos
5 and higher.
So the range of RINs export feature becomes more important.
The Event-based program is still being Beta tested at the moment, but it's
looking good.

Does Legacy export footnotes to RTF as plain text and bnot as footnotes?
Footnotes in Word should move with the text they are attached to, and if you
have properly imported an RFT file there sdhould be no problem.

The Rootsmagic program keeps its data in an SQLite database. If you are
approaching the Legacy/Access data limit you might want to look at that, but
it would be best not to discuss it here, as this forum is for Legacy.

I think the only thing that version 8 can do that the earlier versions
couldn't, is that it connects to FamilySearch to exchange data. If there are
other differences in capabilities, I'm not aware of them.

Aye, but even if I did find it, FreeBMD has Births AND Marriage
information in the database came from, but that
applies to every record in the database, and not just this one. And if one
puts that in the "Credit Line" field, there is nowhere else to put the actual

Another is that when importing sources from FamilySearch there is no good way
of linking marriage sources. The only thing a marriage can be a source for is
"Name".

Read carefully when it asks what you want to do.
You can either replace the existing date or add an Alt date. Make sure you
click the right option.

That would be a very strong argument for not using Sourcewriter.
