Debian packages must not install stuff under lib64. That is one of the

The correct approach is to have upstream fix this, not us. In the

merging upstream versions is wrong IMO.

No. Your solution means either libjack-dev or a virtual package we are
trying to phase out (libjack0.100.0-dev).
We really need to sort this out, but for now packages should just

It is not necessary to do git-buildpackage to test a change.
Also, to avoid this very problem, I set in my ~/.gbp.conf
export-dir=../build-area
So it will build in a clean directory, and not touch my working tree.

How does maintaining several API versions (compat levels) help
backporting? If the compat level you are using doesn't exist on current

The firefox fallback is useful on Ubuntu systems. As it is harmless in
debian, I suggest keeping it to avoid Ubuntu/Debian diffs.

slv2 hangs in a file copy operation, apparently. Adrian Knoth already
commented on the ardour bug. Should we schedule retries?

Hi people, I won't have internet access from the 22 to the 29th of July.
Feel free to do uploads of any of "my" packages should they require it.

And it did :)

me archives (content-wise).
Gah, I'll try again, with the tarball in the archive. I hope this makes
the upload go past the bogus key not found error. However, I think maybe
the pristine-tar data should be fixed to match what we have in the archive?

I object to the approach in sugar-toolkit-0.88. It is overly
complicated. I think making use of dpkg-source is better: just remove
the files on clean, and dpkg-source will ignore them. The kannel-sqlbox
approach is better: moving files out of the way pre-build and restore
them on clean (which is what

Neither of those packages has been uploaded, so I'd say just trash them
and
we should be resolving against default-jdk, which is
what we do actually build-depend on.

So the ABI issue is a non-issue, since nobody uses libvlc outside of vlc
itself.
But I do agree that the stable update process can be too strict.
Alternatives include backports or moving vlc to volatile (for debian at
least).
