Yes, I meant to specify a paint match on the dropouts as opposed to a contrast. The dropout area is relatively inconspicuous and a slight mismatch will be not super obvious. They are also subject to chips etc from wheel removal, chain drop etc. From my experience powder coat is never as nice as

Update for me as well. Called Riv and confirmed that it would not be uncommon for a 62 Sam with a 48/34 big big to result in a new chain being a tad short. I added a link or two and connected it all with two quick links. Guys at Riv said they have done the same on their own bikes without issue.

The Chocomooses that came stock on my Appaloosa are bees knees perfect as far as I'm concerned. But I definitely don't ride much single track on mine. Dirt and that other stuff roads plenty. Rough, badly maintained MUPs, yes. The thing that is so great about this set up is how stable it all is.
