Superscript character in a word?
Hello Bats, In Portuguese (and perhaps other languages) it is sometimes necessary to type a superscript character, such as Profa. or Ma where the 'a' is superscripted. To illustrate, I've pasted from a wp document into a blank email with my default editor changed from PlainText (MicroEd) to HTML Alternative with Plain Text Part in order to be able to paste the above examples successfully, but it's kludgy. Converting to new system
Hello Bats, Converting to a new system seems to be in the air. I'm switching from laptops (Win 7, Linux, & MacBook) to a desktop computer. with Win 7 Pro on C: and Linux Ubuntu on D. There will be a data drive E to store data from the other two drives. I have two questions: a) Can The Bat! be configured to run on the C and D drives with both using the same version? b) Can they both use the same data drive E:? F4 not copying selected text in reply
Hello Bats, Recently, I have encountered a situation where hitting the reply does not include any of the text from the incoming mail. Possibly related: selecting specific text, then hitting the F4 key does not copy the selected text into the reply message. This behavior happens regardless of server of the incoming mails. I have two recent mails where this occurs. Is this behavior from my end or something they have done? I've still got the same ol' setup, and I don't do auto updates of anything. Upgrading to v7.0.0.56 icon animation
Hello Bats, My partner recently upgraded from 4.2 to the current version on a Win 7 and noticed that the icon in the taskbar doesn't flap when mail is received. The Bat! program window icon flaps and the popup mini window has a flapping icon when hovering over the taskbar icon, but not the taskbar icon itself. I checked to see if the Preferences|General|icon animation box was checked and it is. Do any of you know if this is Win7 behavior or is it something changed from TBat4? We must have flapping! BTW, a sigh of relief was heard when TheBat flawlessly brought over all the old files to the 'new' machine. The old TB wasn't even installed, only sitting in the downloads directory. Hello Bats, I would like to try to retrieve a folder of mail on an old backup (even just to view its contents) but I don't want my present folders to be overwritten. Is there a way to do this short of installing another copy of TB! on another machine and doing a full restore there? Thanks for any help you can give. -- Best regards, Maggie Dad's wise lynx piously regarded the substantial aqueduct. Yes, I did that, I did not use a macro. The address book template says Dear Joe and Sue, but it only shows up that way if I create the new email from the "New" button in the address book window, NOT if I am in the main screen calling up a New message and using the handle in the To: address line to address their mail. Address book and New Message Template
Hello Bats, I have a new message template in the address book for a couple with whom I correspond. They both have different email addresses. In the first name line in the address book, I have Joe and Sue. The Display Name As is User Defined. The Display Name is Joe and Sue. The new message template says Dear Joe and Sue. If I choose a new email from the New Message button in the address book when their name is highlighted, all is well and the new message reads: Dear Joe and Sue. If I create a message by calling a new message from the main screen and using their nickname (handle), the salutation says Dear Joe only.
