I find Digit-Eyes to be very useful. It takes me on average about 30 seconds to
identify most items.
I am totally blind.
Once you get used to about where the barcodes are going to be and about how far
away from the package you need to hold the camera, it works great!
But, nothing will compare to

the barcode and getting a good enough image using the camera so the app can
recognize it.

There is no way for us to change the icon when you get the upgrades, so
even though you have the upgrades, you'll see that it is Digit-Eyes lite.

I would like to add that this does take patience, but it's worth it. I have
certainly gotten better at it with experience. I've also used the technique of
pressing the camera lens directly the seam on a can of soup. Then, slowly
back it away until you hear the beep and feel the vibration.
Thanks Eileen for those tips. Yep it's all about finding that bar code.

As Chuck stated, it's a matter of finding that darn bar code. There was a
recent podcast on TekTalk that gave me some other tips on finding the bar
codes. I will try to explain logically what I do. I am not saying that I
