I don't know anything about encryption, so how do you go about encrypting
data on an HD formatted for the Mac ? Does the drive need to come with that

Stick it over the spot on the ribbon cable. Then reinstall the removable
battery.
The battery should then exert enough pressure on the piece of paper to keep

relate this in case you have a similar machine and plan to give it a birthday
one day. As soon as you have done so, reset the PRAM (hold Command-Option-'P'
key-'R'Key combination during startup till you hear at least two startup
chimes) to save yourself lots of head-scratching.

Further to my earlier email, right-clicking on either stubborn item produces no
choices. Right-clicking on other items in the sidebar results in a list of
actions, including 'Remove From Sidebar'.

8 Throughout the problem period Image Capture, as well as Canon's own Canoscan
Toolbox happily scanned, but these apps don't have any of the scanning
abilities of Vuescan.

When tuning EyeTV sticks I find the chart in
http://vk3khb.gak.net.au/atv/chnlchrt.html
quite useful in working out Perth's digital and analogue TV transmissions. The
chart also includes the very illogical 'logical channel numbers'.
