What I take home from you is: Stay away from omni antennas unless they
are low gain. Sectors are better. Keep power low. No amps. etc, etc.
Doesnt using an omni to go 15 miles invite a lot of interference?

Gain only comes from narrowing coverage with antennas.
If there are both 120* antennas you can't have HIGHER gain with GREATER
coverage It takes half the coverage area go give you twice the power

Hope that helps!

Matt I think that's a great idea. What a bone headed idea. What was that
about politicians and common sense? lol
Tom/Steve, any suggestions about how to smack this idea back into the hole
it came from?
thanks,

Glad to be of help Forbes! Once in a while I make a lucky guess. grin
OK, design note time.
I work to keep all of my links in the -65 to -75 range. If you look up the
specs for your radios you will likely find that this is well above the
lowest receive signal level, but not too far above it.
You might try just doing free wifi hotspots for people around the fair.
Force them to a splash page that tells them you are giving the wireless away
and that you can provide it to their homes (for a fee) as well.
Beyond that, you might try getting a flyer in all of the fair stuff etc.
I'd also
Happy birthday. Grandpa. hehehehe
How the heck are you these days?

Build a new network right over the top of the old one. Then move customers
one at a time. When they are all moved (maybe one sector at a time?), take
down the old gear.

OK, this seems simple enough. Type in www.aaa.com and go to the triple A
site right?
Nope, it somehow knows that I'm in zip code 99159 and sends me,
automatically to www.aaawa.com!
How in the world is a web site finding this info in my machine? Where the
heck is it stored? How do I make it
We just set them up at the time of install. If they get a router later
we'll help over the phone. If we have to go there it's a standard $50
service call.

We learned this lesson too.
You'll be lucky to get half of the money.
What we do is shut them off until payment comes in. They don't have to pay
it all at once, but we require at least double the monthyly fee. If they
miss, we shut them off right away. Takes a while to get them caught back
