MONTENEGRIN PRESIDENT MILO DJUKANOVIC
MONTENEGRO WILL FIRMLY DEFEND ITS SUGGESTION IN BRUSSELS

PODGORICA- Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic confirmed last night
that he was going to meet with the European Union (EU) High
representative for security Javier Solana on Sunday, February 10.

Montenegro will firmly defend its attitude about the best possible
relation for Montenegro and Serbia, which is an alliance of two
independent and internationally recognized states, by the EU principles-
Djukanovic said referring to the talks in Brussels.

Any further insisting on preserving some form of federation, would cause
a great damage to both Montenegro and Serbia- Djukanovic said.
Montenegrin President added that the Montenegrin suggestion about an
alliance of two sovereign and internationally recognized states
presented a kind of minimum that could satisfy even Serbia's striving
for an alliance and Montenegro's aiming toward independence.

POLITICAL ANALYST FROM WASHINGTON MORTON ABRAMOVIC
REFERENDUM POSTPONEMENT HINDERS REFORMS IN MONTENEGRO AND SERBIA

PODGORICA- The European Union (EU) is dealing with a hard task while
resolving relations in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) and "now
the problem is how to get out of it". - well known analyst of the
international relations in Washington Morton Ambramovic, the ex
assistant of the American Defense secretary said.

In Ambramovic's opinion referendum postponement in Montenegro hinders
and prolongs democratic reconstruction and reform implementation in both
Montenegro and Serbia.

"The EU supports changes in Montenegro that could cause conflict
escalation", Ambarmovic asserted, adding that the main problem in
resolving Montenegrin-Serbian relations is Europe's insisting on
preservation of federation, which stirs up destructive nationalists
forces.

This is a very bad move of the EU, Ambarmovic said and asserted that the
EU High representative Javier Solana " has involved himself to much
personally in the negotiating process".

POLITICKI ANALITICAR IZ VASINGTONA MORTON ABRAMOVIC:
ODLAGANJE REFERENDUMA OTEZAVA REFORME U CRNOJ GORI I SRBIJI

Podgorica - Evropska unija (EU) uplela se u problematican posao
rjesavanja odnosa u Saveznoj Republici Jugoslaviji (SRJ) i "sada ne zna
kako da iz njega izadje" - ocjena je istaknutog analiticara
medjunarodnih odnosa u Vasingtonu Mortona Abramovica, biveg pomocnika
americkog sekretara za odbranu.

Abramovic je misljenja da se odlaganjem referenduma u Crnoj Gori otezava
i odlaze demokratska rekonstrukcija i reforme i u Crnoj Gori i u Srbiji.

Prema ocjena Abramovica, "EU ohrabruje podjele u Crnoj Gori koje bi
mogle dovesti do eskalacije sukoba"., a sustinski problem u rjesavanju

predstavnik EU Havijer Solana "suvise licno upleo u pregovaracki
proces".
