DJUKANOVIC AND VUJANOVIC MET WITH SOLANA IN BELGRADE
DJUKANOVIC: NOBODY INTENDS TO DENY MONTENEGRO'S RIGHT ON SELF
DETERMINATION

PODGORICA- Position of Montenegro in negotiation process got a complete
valorization and respect- Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic said,
after last night round of talks with the European Union (EU) High
representative Javier Solana.

Djukanovic confirmed that a democratic solution would be reached by the
end of this month or in the beginning of next month, underlining that
nobody intends to deny Montenegro's right on self determination.

We are in the stage of determining the extent of that right. Respecting
regional and European interests we keep the positions that the best
option is renewal of the Montenegrin and Serbian state, with full
presentation to the United Nations (UN) and to other international
institutions- Djukanovic said.

EU HIGH REPRESENTATIVE JAVIER SOLANA
CONSTRUCTIVE TALK WITH DJUKANOVIC

PODGORICA- Talk with Djukanovic was constructive - the European Union
(EU) High representative Javier Solana said on the Surcin Airport,
Belgrade, after meeting with the Montenegrin, Serbian and the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) representatives, Podgorica's media inform.

"There is a certain progress", regarding talks about future of
Yugoslavia- Solana said, expressing his expectations that the talks will
be finished by the end of February or in the middle of March and will
ensure resolving of the technical matters.

MONTENEGRIN CHIEF OF DIPLOMACY:
NEW FEDERATION WOULD BE BASED ON INJUSTICE

PODGORICA- Montenegrin Chief of Diplomacy Branko Lukovac assessed as
completely wrong the attitude of the European Union (EU) that redefined
federal community of Montenegro and Serbia would ensure wider stability
in the region, then it would provide an alliance of two independent
states.

Such a federal community would be based on injustice, deny of
Montenegro's right on its own state, independence and freedom- Lukovac
said in his interview to Podgorica's weekly "Polis".

In Lukovac's opinion, such a community of Montenegro and Serbia, would
always be cause or source of distrust, intolerance and conflicts.

ANALYST MORTON ABRAMOVIC
IN ESSENCE MONTENEGRO IS ALREADY INDEPENDENT STATE

PODGORICA- The Montenegrins should get the right to decide the future
state status on the referendum, and any postponement of the referendum
would be destabilization of political situation in the Republic- Analyst
Morton Ambramovic, former Deputy of American Defense Secretary said to
the Radio Free Europe.

The Yugoslav community came to the very end and Montenegro is an
independent state in essence- Abramovic said, pointing out that the
whole process in resolving the Montenegrin-Serbian relations have to be
democratic, not imposed.

In Abramovic's opinion it is unbelievable that the European Union (EU)
force Montenegro to stop on its way. He said that he had expected the
United States of America (USA) to accept the independence of Montenegro.

MONTENEGRIN INTELLECTUALS SENT AN APPEAL TO JAVIER SOLANA
RIGHT ON REFERENDUM IS UNIVERSAL AND CIVILIZATION

PODGORICA- Your "project" about redefinition of Montenegro and Serbia
caused disapproval of the most of the Montenegrins, since in that way
their right on referendum has been denied- it has been said in an appeal
of Matica crnogorska, Duklja's Science and Art Academy, the Montenegrin
PEN Center and the Montenegrin Association of writers, sent to the
European Union (EU) High representative Javier Solana.

This flagrantly breaks the people's universal right on
self-determination and the whole series of human rights on which are
based the EU and the democratic world- the Montenegrin intellectuals
said.

Realization of the actual European offer for the Montenegrin and Serbian
relations would make stronger chauvinist's belief that the crime is
profitable. Therefore, according to that opinion Milosevic and its
supporters were on the right way- it has been concluded in the appeal of
independent Association of the Montenegrin intellectuals.

Utvrdjujemo dinamiku ostvarivanja tog prava, a postujuci regionalne i
drzanvosti Crne Gore i Srbije, uz puno predstavjanje u Ujedinjenim
nacijama (UN) i drugim medjunarodnim institucijama - rekao je
Djukanovic.

VISOKI PREDSTAVNIK EVROPSKE UNIJE HAVIJER SOLANA:

Savezne Republike Jugoslaviije (SRJ), pisu podgoricki mediji.

pitanja.

CRNOGORSKI SEF DIPLOMATIJE BRANKO LUKOVAC:

zajednica Crne Gore i Srbije osigurala vecu stabilnost u regionu, nego
savez dvije samostalne drzave.

netrpjeljivosti i konflikta.

ANALITICAR MORTON ABRAMOVIC:
CRNA GORA JE SUSTINSKI VEC NEZAVISNA DRZAVA

referendumu o svom drzavnom statusu, a svako odlaganje referenduma

CRNOGORSKI INTELEKTUALCI UPUTILI OTVORENO PISMO HAVIJERU SOLANI

Matice crnogorske, Dukljanske akademije nauka i umjetnosti, Crnogorskog
PEN centra i Crnogorskog drustva knjizevnika, upucenom visokom
predstavniku Evropske unije (EU) Havijeru Solani.

Time se flagrantno krsi univerzalno pravo naroda na samoopredjeljenje i
citav korpus ljudskih prava na kojima pociva EU i ostatak demokratskog
svijeta - smatraju crnogorski intelektualci.

otvorenom pismu nezavisnih asocijacija crnogorskih intelektualaca.
