I think the issue here is that you are using Mint Debian which as far as I'm aware is based on the testing repositories. These will be untested with any of the Squeezebox software and in addition to that the operating system will be in constant flux, always updating always breaking. For a server you need a stable OS, I would suggest changing to the Linux Mint based on Ubuntu if you need a day to day desktop environment or installing just plain Debian if you are just using it as a server.
