Hi there, Another week! And I hope whatever you did at the weekend that it went well. I know there were loads of things on (and several weddings) and the weather wasnt very helpful at all was it? I had a very quiet weekend and have recently got a computer at home and spent much of my weekend sitting playing on that and making up music play lists .it was great fun and I am constantly astounded how the technology has changed ..some of it now is mind-blowing. A little different from when I sat with my cassette recorder trying to tape the top 20 on a Sunday evening but trying to cut out Alan Freeman in between but always getting little snatches of him in-between happy days!!!! Anyway I am very trendy now and learning all the time (well thats my story)
TONIGHT AT 6 30 ============== As well as all the days news and Paul with the weather we shall be meeting a showbiz veteran tonight .the actress and singer Anita Harris remember the anniversary waltz? You dont why did I ask, do I never learn? Anyway Anita is in Lincoln this week and I shall be talking to her this evening. BLOOD BROTHERS ================ I set a competition to win tickets to see the hit musical last week and we will sort out the two winners tomorrow. However, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone whos entered, there have been loads. It just goes to show just how popular musicals are. The star of the show at the moment is Linda Nolan and I had her on the show on Friday and she seems really nice. If youre going to the show then I look forward to seeing you there, I must get round to getting a ticket myself!! SURVEYS WE LIKE ================ Did you know that we Brits spend an average of 14.7 years of our lives in front of the TV or computer .I think I have done that twice over already. And after this weekend guess what Im now back in front of it again .!!!!! I am known for being a little outspoken and speak my mind. Please or offend - so Im fascinated by the news of the world's first ''gentleman's academy'' is about to open in Britain. The 'finishing school' for men charges £650 a head for a three day intensive course. Apparently there are classes in etiquette, how to stand and walk elegantly and even how to make small talk. Some colleagues are keen to put my name down! GUESTS ======= Still more e mails in for guests on the show and the surprise favourite is Bryan Ferry. Another e mail this morning from Janet Morton in Winterton saying 'I would really like Bryan Ferry on the show he's the best thing since sliced bread and if you can get him to sing a song that would be an added bonus' I think this may take a little time !!!!! Years ago, about 1973, I was working as a teenage actor and when not working had a job in Covent Garden at Moss Bros fitting out men in formal wear! They took on actors and you could just work as and when you wanted. I was there one day when Bryan Ferry came in and he was the next customer waiting and I got him ..I took him to the fitting room and he said he wanted a white dinner jacket, dress shirt and tie and black trousers he told me it was for a record cover. I fitted him out and off he went with his little suitcase .a few months later little did I realise that I had chosen his outfit for the cover of the Classic album ' Another time , Another place' which is still available if you see it when browsing in the record shop .remember I dressed him !!!!! You couldn't make it up. DROP ME A LINE ============== If you want to write to me about whatever then you can and get me directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED] I look forward to hearing from you ..don't forget as well I am looking for issues to get my teeth in to on Leave it to Levy pass the word on. I am also looking for any stories which you hear about which maybe we have not ..If you think its a story let me know and we will investigate. SUDOKU ======= This isn't going away!!! This from Ian: 'My 11 year old son, Alexander, is an expert. He even gets a Sudoku book because he can't get enough of them. Sometimes I wonder if he cheats, he says not. Now his mother has started with the craze and also gets a book' It is apparently very trendy to do Sudoku. It's own up time I was given a Sudoku book by a friend last week. However I am struggling to do it, I dont think I am patient enough. FINALLY ======= I had an e mail from Claire (I wont use her surname) she says and I quote' I am writing to thank you for making my husbands day every day!!! He looks forward to your e mails. I had to check them of course because the way he was getting excited about them I thought maybe they were from another woman!!!!! Great e mail Claire thanks very much. Thats it have a good day-join me at 6 30 All the best Peter And for the latest news and more where you live, go to: http://bbc.co.uk/humber and http://bbc.co.uk/lincolnshire ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the BBC Look North newsletter, go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/england/looknorthhull/newsletter/newsletter_index.shtml, enter your email address in the unsubscribe box.
