22 observers counted 74 species (lowest ever, count average 83 species) and

The adult Yellow-crowned Night Heron that was posted to ebird lastnight was
present till 9am when it flew west from the small pond it had been at for
apparently the last few days.
It was at a small pond visible at #3147 Morgans rd. There are several private

I located a vocal and skittish Townsend Solitaire in the west end of the park.
I first heard it just west of the boat ramp and went to investigate and got
glimpses of it moving around the west end of the park. Last time I heard it, it
was along the sw corner of the Park adjacent to the road and
At 11:13am I had an Anhinga soaring above my house in North Oshawa. The bird
was approx 300ft up and slowly drifting westward. It was following the same
line that the raptors move along to the wnw.
My house is on the eastside of Oshawa Airport approximately 7km north of Lake
Ontario

long trek to Rainy River this year. Weather was cool, windy, and rain in the
evening.

Greater Snow Geese Migration.
Currently there is approximately 10,000 Greater Snow Geese in the Lancaster
Ontario area. Field conditions are great with lots of mud and wet open fields=
food. The 5cm of snow we got overnight is melting quickly.

Francis (St Lawrence River). I spent 5 hours today counting the Snow Geese

Little Gulls
There were 43 birds present between the marsh and adjacent Lake Ontario.
There is also 1600 Bonaparte's Gulls present this morning.
Almost all Little Gulls and Bonaparte's left for the marsh by 9:30am
Warblers 9 species
In order of abundance Yellow-rumped, Yellow, Black-throated
Oshawa Second Marsh
Little Gulls numbers have been fluctuating between 10-20 birds for most of
the week. This morning there were 32 birds present. Up to 23 birds could be
observed at one time performing courtship display flights over the marsh.
Bonaparte's Gull numbers have been fluctuating
Oshawa Second Marsh
Little Gulls returned to the marsh on the 10th. Their numbers have climbed
to 20 birds this morning. When I left at 9am there was still 17 Little Gulls
and 150+ Bonaparte' s Gull in the marsh.
Other species seen were Caspian Terns, American Bittern, Black-crowned Night
. Nothing seen or heard on the trail.
Mew lake Campground... 30+ Blue Jays and few Pine Siskins and a relatively
tame Ruffed Grouse.
We Stopped in Whitney looking for fruiting shrubs and possibly Bohemian
waxwings but found neither.
