Dean, running the driver flat out or indeed the PA at full power creates a high level of 3rd order IMD. If you run the K3 around 1/4 power the IMD on SSB transmit reduces by around 10 dB. It's not that the K3 is particularly bad in this regard, almost all 12 Volt PA transceivers are like it.

Using a VGA cable probably won't bring all of the signals out to the end of the pigtail since the VGA standard doesn't use off of them. There are commerical cables using the DB-15 high density connector that bring out all pins, or you can build your own. It's more fun to build your own. Digikey

Hi folks, While phone contesting yesterday I found there is audio feedback from headphones/external speakers through the microphone without the PTT being pressed. Monitor level was initially set at about 15. I was using a Heil BM-10ic headphone through the front panel with bias turned on.
