Hi,
For information purposes I'd like to annouce I fixed my rattle. I
built my K3 about 2 weeks ago, and had a rattle caused by the large,
thick spacer washer on the phone jack. Well, I tried tightening it
but still no joy.
This week, I installed the Digital Voice Recorder and therefore

dealing with. I am looking for a way to access the signal from the K3
that tells the ATU to TUNE. I want to use the front panel ATU button
to start the TUNE process, not a button on the tuner. Leaving the
tuner in AUTO

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but I did accomplish writing a
couple of macros last night that will switch the mic from front to
rear and update the tX EQ accordingly. now i can have both my headset
and hand mic avail at the press/hold of a front panel button. this
might work
that the recordings contained
some TX EQ AND I was hearing it compounded by the current TX EQ for
the front mic.
Does this make any sense.

Now to answer your question. A lot depends on how your station is
setup. If the radio is placed so it is very inconvienient to
disconnect the cable, it makes sense to add a switch. And, there may
be times

compression less than 20. I get good audio, and good power out. it
just plugs right in the real panel jacks. My TX EQ is set to -16 -16

OK, yes, My TS-570 has a gender changer mounted on it's rear RS232
port. My main response was to the fact that the wiring is the same,
and I didn't consider gender. However, the cable I used for the 570
is the same cable I use for the K3, minus the gender changer.

Since you can access the M1-M4 buttons for 'playback' from N1MM for CW
messages, I assume it (N1MM) could playback the M1-M4 DVR messages as
well. I think it just sends the EPL macro as ascii text over the serial
line.
