Depends on what you need :) The priv.edb and priv.stm should give you
all mail that has been committed to the databases, but will not give you
mail that has been received since that time. Also, having the same
server name is not quite as important, but having the same org name and
same Admin

I believe you have it backwards. If you are restoring the priv you can name

Iam not sure if the hardware really matters, what you can do is setup your
server as similar as possible to the old server i.e. logs/db etcpaths

You didn't resore the directory, did you? You should restore only the
IS, and the KCC will create the directory for you.
