Hi,
Yes, the music can be turned off. There is an option in the settings 
menu to enable/disable music, set Sapi voice, speech rate, speech 
volume, enable/disable ambient effects, turn joysticks on/off, etc.

Maybe. I've tried it here and nothing like that so far. However, it is 
possible some synth might do it I haven't yet tested it with.

Hi.
Is it possible to turn that music down or off? I always have to do that because

even if I turn it down. Though I couldn't figure out how to turn judgement 
day's music off, but I was able to turn it way way down so at least I can hear 
what's going on, and actually the music is pretty cool in that game I gotta say.

hitpoint value so using swords from any other creature wouldn't be 
advisable. Besides there is a who list of ideas for Tomb Hunter II I have 
intentionally left out of Tomb Hunter I for the obvious reasons. If I use 
every possible suggestion, idea, there would be nothing new and original 
for the second game in the series. Also I am working a very tight schedule 
for MOTA and I am working hard to just get it done. That is why I am not 
going to be following a huge number of end user suggestions right now.

Angela's abilities with a sword to the point where she can pick up swords 
from skeleton warriors, and have a few swordfighting techniques of her 
own? A couple different swings, blocking, etc? I'm just curious. And one 
more thing to add to that... if you can have her pick up swords, my 
suggestion is that you have swords wear out as they get used, and 
eventually that has to be discarded for a new one, much like in certain 
rpgs.

Hi,
Actually, what you heard was my original sounds and music for the game. I 
legally own 99% of the sounds and music that was previewed in the demo. In 
fact, the only sound effects that were borrowed from Tomb Raider were the 
ones for Lara Croft which I have been using as a place holder for Angela 
Carter. The rest is all  original USA Games audio content.
As for the Cyclops at the end of level 1 he is a type of mini-boss of 
sorts. The reason he doesn't have any special attacks is because Geek 
mythology doesn't really mention any for the ;Cyclopses in the epics. 
While it is true the Cyclopses did create Zues's thunderbolt, Hades's 
helment, and Posidan's trident the Cyclopses were  forbiddento use those 
weapons themselves. The only thing besides their skill as master weapon 
creators they are known for is their large size and superhuman strength. 
Thatis why no special attacks, moves, etc.
As far as the main boss you have to fight here is a hint. In the Hall of 
Wisdom you get to ssquare off witht Kampe the dragon who guards the Orgb 
of Wisdom. She is really going to be mean and tough.  She has two attacks. 
She can hit you with fire breath at a distance or hit you with her 
scorpion tail up close. Either way you are in deep trouble.

The game sounds pretty good. I like the fact that there'll actually be 
combat in it now, that seems to spice things up along with the 
platforming elements. Just a couple of questions though. Just curious as 
to when you're planning to put in original sounds? I seem to recall you 
mensioning those were from some tomb raider game or other. Pretty good 
sounds actually and they fit the setting, but I don't know how well it'd 
go if you released them in the actual game, especially if you've already 
been busted once.


And also, was the cyclopse dude at the end a boss monster? If so, I was 
kind of wondering if you planned to give the bosses more special attacks 
and such to make the battles more interesting and sepperate them from the 
norm. As it was it seemed kind of like it was just a bigger enemy with 
more hp that could deal more damage. If I remember right, wasn't it the 
cyclopses that forged Zeus's thunderbolts? Something along those lines 
anyway. Maybe they could have a special attack involving hurled 
lightningbolts, and perhaps some kind of attack involving their eye? A 
gaze that stuns or some kind of beam or something. Just curious. Would be 
kind of neat to see platforming elements introduced into the more 
difficult boss battles as well, would add a whole new level of intensity.

I am glad you like the music. Purchasing that quality of music isn't 
cheap. I have hired someone to do the theme music and scoring for the 
game, but he charges royalty fees on his music. Fortunately, since Tomb 
Hunter is going to be a full game series of games sharing many of the same

Yeah,he did. Though, I am wondering exactly how a club would sound  
in audio. Beyond a big swoosh I don't know if you could identify it  
is a club by sound alone. I am hoping to find a sound that you can  
identify by sound alone. For example, when the skeletons swing a  
sword at you there is no way you can mistake the sword for anything

What I meant was that swords would ware out as in their edges becoming dull 
from clashing with other blades. And yes, you're right. If an enemy hit the 
blade hard enough, the blade could break, which would call for a new one.

Yes, that I do have a quite a lot of. I have several sword effects. Given
the amount of time I have set myself in completing this project plus the
fact I am about to begin work on level 2 after new years adding a sword 
to

the Cyclops would be the quickest and easiest thing i could do.
Besides now that you mention it if I add sword combat ability for the
Cyclops I can expand the skeleton warriors basic artificial intelligence
to do some sowrd fighting too. This sounds pretty interesting.

Ah. Good composer indeed... I love the score.

As for it being a side scroller, I kind of guessed that would pose a problem 
which was why I didn't suggest anything like circling or dodging around the 
cyclops. But being able to perry and having to leap over low strikes would 
make things a lot more interesting, in my opinion. Mind you, I've always had 
a fascination with swords, so that could be a bias. lol.

Actually there is an enchanted sword in the game you can find which does a

Hi Ryan,
Yes, there is a way. You can either jump over the lightning bolts or duck 
under them. As I said in a prier post I just elected not to do that when 
playing the trailer as I was playing on an easy level and i wanted to hurry 
through the level.

Hi,
Actually there is an enchanted sword in the game you can find which does a

I agree that bosses should get tougher as they proceed. But I still wouldn't
mind seeing him armed... if he had, say, a longsword and had a lot of range,
you could make him slow. In that case, if you were to give the player a
shorter sword lying outside the door that made Angela fast and maneuverable
but only able to take little nicks of damage, that could work. That way it
wouldn't be a straightforward hack and slash match, you would actually
having to move right to dodge his sword, or leap under low strikes. By the
way.. the music is awesome. Where did that come from?

Hi,
Depends on what is happening. She makes a uh type sound when she jumps or 
swings. She also makes sounds when ducking/standing.
As far as why I am getting hit so much when playing it is because I really 
wasn't trying to avoid the attacks. I was just bashing my way through the 
level ingnoring enemies etc. If I was really playing for keeps, like on a 
higher difficulty, I would jump over the enemy attacks or duck the attacks.

what weapon to give him, plus sound effects to match it, adding a feature to

Problem is I don't have any sounds remotely like that in my library of sound 
effects. I've checked. I am sure I can find something to give the Cyclops, 
but this is definitely a case of I am running out of sounds etc to complete 
this project At least sounds that fall into the high quality range. right 
now.

Yes, a baseball bat slowed down to sound larger hitting a ball might do as 
a large club.
If the Cyclops  was not too particular he may have left some leaves or 
branches on the club making a leaf swishing sound.
And if you mix it with a tree falling crack as the club hits, you would 
get a great wood club sound.

Being a giant a fist strike would be pretty devastating  coming from 
someone that size. Though if everyone is in favor of it  I can arm him

My bad, I forgot about the forbidden part. While it'd be cool for  the 
little mini bosses to have special attacks, I guess if you're  going 
for straight mythology it wouldn't make a lot of sense. One  thing you 
could do is have the cyclops, just as an example, do  some kind of 
power attack. I don't know if you actually had it  wielding a weapon or 
if it was just using its fists, but if it has  no weapon you could 
always have it make a grapple attempt and if  successful, throw Angela

Well, right now the Cyclops just tries to hit you with his bare  
fists. Being a giant a fist strike would be pretty devastating  
coming from someone that size. Though if everyone is in favor of it

Lol, geek mythology. That another name for D&D manuals?

My bad, I forgot about the forbidden part. While it'd be cool for  
the little mini bosses to have special attacks, I guess if you're  
going for straight mythology it wouldn't make a lot of sense. One  
thing you could do is have the cyclops, just as an example, do  
some kind of power attack. I don't know if you actually had it  
wielding a weapon or if it was just using its fists, but if it has  
no weapon you could always have it make a grapple attempt and if  
successful, throw Angela up against a wall for large damage, or  
with a club, have it draw back and swing for a power attack you'd  
have to avoid. Just a suggestion.

This is actually the wrong message toe reply to but oh well. Truthfully I 
don't mind the cyclops being unarmed, though having a massive club or some 
other weapon would definitely give him more range. I was just thinking it'd 
be cool if the boss fight  was more than just see who can do the most damage 
over time or get out of range quicker. Though I imagine that the cyclops is 
probably just the first of several bosses, so maybe he should be easier than 
all the rest. Either way, the game still sounds pretty neat.

by sound alone. I am hoping to find a sound that you can identify by sound 
alone. For example, when the skeletons swing a sword at you there is no 
way you can mistake the sword for anything else but a big blade of some 
kind.
I'll look in my sounds folder and see if I can find a big club or maybe a 
ball bat sound that would do the trick.

Yes, a baseball bat slowed down to sound larger hitting a ball might do as a 
large club.
If the Cyclops  was not too particular he may have left some leaves or 
branches on the club making a leaf swishing sound.
And if you mix it with a tree falling crack as the club hits, you would get 
a great wood club sound.

Lol, geek mythology. That another name for D&D manuals?

My bad, I forgot about the forbidden part. While it'd be cool for the little 
mini bosses to have special attacks, I guess if you're going for straight 
mythology it wouldn't make a lot of sense. One thing you could do is have 
the cyclops, just as an example, do some kind of power attack. I don't know 
if you actually had it wielding a weapon or if it was just using its fists, 
but if it has no weapon you could always have it make a grapple attempt and 
if successful, throw Angela up against a wall for large damage, or with a 
club, have it draw back and swing for a power attack you'd have to avoid. 
Just a suggestion.

The SAPI voice says 3 hundred and 57 magnum.
It should be 3 57 magnum, with a space between the 3 and the 57 so the

Hi,
Actually, what you heard was my original sounds and music for the game. I 
legally own 99% of the sounds and music that was previewed in the demo. In 
fact, the only sound effects that were borrowed from Tomb Raider were the 
ones for Lara Croft which I have been using as a place holder for Angela 
Carter. The rest is all  original USA Games audio content.
As for the Cyclops at the end of level 1 he is a type of mini-boss of sorts. 
The reason he doesn't have any special attacks is because Geek mythology 
doesn't really mention any for the ;Cyclopses in the epics. While it is true 
the Cyclopses did create Zues's thunderbolt, Hades's helment, and Posidan's 
trident the Cyclopses were  forbiddento use those weapons themselves. The 
only thing besides their skill as master weapon creators they are known for 
is their large size and superhuman strength. Thatis why no special attacks, 
moves, etc.
As far as the main boss you have to fight here is a hint. In the Hall of 
Wisdom you get to ssquare off witht Kampe the dragon who guards the Orgb of 
Wisdom. She is really going to be mean and tough.  She has two attacks. She 
can hit you with fire breath at a distance or hit you with her scorpion tail 
up close. Either way you are in deep trouble.

Hi Reinhard,
As for the sound when picking up arrows we will probably update that sound 
as soon as we find one that sounds good enough to  add to the game. The ammo 
sound is there more or less as a place holder.
As far as footsteps goes we have it mixing four different footsteps for each 
surface, but I think something is wrong with the code that randomly selects 
the step sound. In any case we will be finalizing the sound effects between 
now and the release.

I really don't know at this point. Best answer I can give is it is released 
as soon as I am certain it is stable enough for the general public.
As it happpens I wanted to release a demo this week, but my private test 
team felt it isn't ready for the public yet. There are some issues we want 
to take care of before there is a demo offered to the public.
