Hi,
I have an idea, It might be done already or not feasable at all.
Scanning a orignal image(Painting/drawing) the maximum resolution is
dictated by the scanner hardware.
Would it be possible to create a function where the image is moved slightly
between multiple scans.Besause the allignment o
base would need to be, how this would be affected by the future
incorporation of GEGL, and whether this could be completed in the
allotted time?

A major difficulty in using GIMP, in my experience, is that the menus
are too many and too deep. To invoke an action on an image, or to
open a dialog box, the user spends a lot of time and concentration

my commenting out the gdk_pointer_grab makes the airbrush, pencil, and
paintbrush work.
But NOT the 'ink' drawing tool.

In the INSTALL file, #5, "you MAY want to install other third party..."
stuff, should be reworded to
"we EXPECT the following third-party libraries to be installed".
"may" implies an optional thing, that configure will automatically figure

BTW: the 'dependancies' directory in
ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v2.0/dependencies/
has a version of png that is incompatible with gimp. png1.2.1
At least, that's what the makefile in
/home/download/build/gtk+-2.0.3/demos
claims.
