paper is definitely different from glossy paper. Some printers even use
different inks for them.
Similarly, monitors change over time and need to be re-profiled as they
do. The default for a Spyder2PRO is weekly.

If you mean that you actually open an image for editing with GIMP, and

you need to change the file associations so that you use

all file types handle transparency.

compiled gimp 2.2 under Suse 9.2 with the default options.
I use Windows, so just guessing here. In the GIMP for Windows, Edit|Copy
will not paste to other applications. But Edit |Copy to Clipboard does. See
if you have that option.

may be wanting to "chop off" the bottom of the image,
leaving the rest of the image untouched. In which case, use the Crop tool in
